PCmover gets the job done at an exceptionally reasonable price, but for me it was neither easy nor flawless because of how the technology has changed recently. If you need to move the contents from, say, a 1T hard disk drive Windows 10 computer to a new Windows 10 machine running on a 1T or 2T HDD, just follow the instructions very carefully and you'll probably be fine. However, I had to transfer from a Windows 10 1T HDD to a new hybrid computer with a 256GB solid state drive and a 1T hard disk. Unfortunately, PCmover tries to put everything on the 256GB drive, which is the C drive. The bigger hard disk is for data. The OS, desktop, pictures, etc., land there by default. I eventually got the job done, but in the process lost functionality on a couple of older programs. This may have been a 32bit vs 64bit issue, but I don't know for sure. I figured out how to move most data files to the D hard disk, but it wasn't easy, and I have to be careful because the C drive is very full. My recommendation: if you're migrating from a hard disk to a hybrid configuration, hire the Geek Squad to do it for you.

Most of the programs transfered over and other needed to be reinstalled over the top again, saved lots of time from an older 7 year old Windows 10 computer to a new Lightning fast Windows 10 computer, did the transfer over network with no issues connecting to each computer, will purchase again if needed.

I had been dreading the install of my new computer. All the software, settings, let alone data. How to get it all in the right place. This made it really easy! And in the end, it told me what it was not able to move so I could do something about it manually. Not easy software to find, but great.

Forgot to turn off all firewalls and updates and updates. Transfer stalled. Callled tech support. Very helpful but got a serious hard up sell for their pay for service tech support. Ended up spending $40 to get their help. Not sure I needed it. They gave me a hard sell to buy their $99 service or their $199 service. Cut the price to $69 but I held out. Don’t pay too much. In the end it worked so I guess i’m Happy

I had read a review of this item in PC magazine. I followed the directions to the letter but still ran into trouble and had to call the 24 hour hot line. I was unable to use the supplied transfer cable and called. I was advised I could transfer all contents from old computer to the new computer over a WiFi connection. That was a tad slower but it was such a nice feature. Just like I said, "The program did exactly what it said it would do."

Took a while to figure out how to properly use the software. But after some experimenting, it transferred all my critical apps to my new desktop.

This software did a good job moving over three separate profiles on my old computer. Some of the programs I did have to re-install (iTunes for instance), but it alerted me this may be the case. Even though I had to re-install the software, when starting it up, all of my profile information was there, saving me hours of work after the fact.

Easy to install and use. Did a great job moving files from old laptop to new. A little slow using wifi but results worth it. Highly recommend

Easy to follow with excellent tech support to walk you through the process. Would have preferred a OSB crossover cable over the RJ45 since my new computer no longer has a LAN port. Transfers worked well with only a few things to update and correct.

Very useful tool. Transferred everything quickly. So happy to have my same desktop look on new laptop.

Outstanding tech support! PCMover would not transfer files. Contacted tech support. The tech was outstanding. He did everything to try to get my firewall to uninstall to no avail.By this time I was confused, but the tech did not abandon me. (Had to contact maker of firewall and problem turned out to be theirs completely. They had to uninstall the program due to a malfunction.) Recontacted the tech at PCMovers. By this time I was completely confused. The tech was so patient and professional and helped with making sure all security was off and that transfer began. Transfer took about 3 hours. When transfer was complete, I could not find the documemts where I expected. The tech again was great...he set the files up in two folders on my desk top. Would recommend this product just for the tech support should you get into a problem.

Do not expect perfection. Its impossible to automatically move and activate many programs from one machine to the other, especially if they have different operating systems. That said, PCMover will do much of the grunt work for you and then you spend some time cleaning up. Still worth it.

Was very easy to use. Walked you through how to use it and worked quickly to transfer all of my information from my old computer to the new computer.

It's not quite as easy as plug & play but once I realized that, following the instructions was no big deal. You can select what you want to move but I still moved a bunch of stuff that I didn't need anymore. It will move any desktop shortcuts you might have but since the moved files aren't in the same place (at least for many of them) you might have to create new links

used to move work files/programs to new laptop. Be sure which connector you buy (this one came with ethernet -- neither laptop has an ethernet connection). used wireless and it was pretty slow. You can buy a USB connector, and it is much faster.

The published description made me believe I would be able to transfer ALL apps like Corel Draw from my old computer to my new computer. That is false. There were other apps such as Microsoft Office that would not transfer either. If you have an external drive, you can transfer music, photos and other files.

it worked and very easy to use without any problems

This program is easy to use and moves almost everything. It does not move things that are driver specific (printers, scanners etc) if you are moving to a different operating system. I used it to move a Windows 7 machine to a new Windows 10 system.
