Set up to transfer per instructions. Transfer abruptly stalled. Set up chat to see what went wrong. The representative tried to tell me what to do. I will try again but don’t have much confidence it will work. Seems easy the way he explained it. The geek squad can not transfer programs, only data. That is why I chose to buy this program.

I've used PC Mover twice now and have been pretty happy with it. The only thing I recommend is that the old PC files and applications be cleaned up before copying over to the new PC. Our last experience brought over some of the bad issues from the old PC.

PROS Transfers process for all data and files as advertised. You can manually select each individual data or file or auto select all files and data. It will inform you of files recommending not to transfer due to unstable platforms. CONS Alot of money for one time transfer use between two computers. Ease of use and install, was 20 to 30 minute setup and transfer process.

Worked as advertised to easily transfer my date to a new computer

After reading several reviews both good and not so good I was a bit trepidatious in my purchase but really didn't see any better alternatives. It did take two attempts as well as some patience. It is absolutely vital that you read all of the instructions completely before doing anything and following them exactly! The result in the end, perfect!

Utilized this software to transfer applications, files, pictures, etc.. from a 10 year old HP to a new ASUS both running Windows 10. It took a couple of tries to download the software updates, but finally worked. I used the provided cable to connect the two computers, and I recommend following the transfer instructions, if you want to successfully transfer everything on the first attempt. I had to run the process twice due to not deleting all files on the new computer which referenced Microsoft's Office software that could be purchased for the new computer, however, my Office 2007 transfer worked on the second try. Also, had some trouble turning off the included Microsoft anti virus software. The end result was that the PC mover software completed the transfer job excellently.

They are in America. Support is in America. They actually have a clue why they are there and what I need. Solved my issue in a heartbeat. Software worked like a charm. Saved me hours by not needing to reinstall programs.

I bought this software based on the solid reviews, and it's promise to allow one to migrate data AND programs from an old PC to a new one. My move should have been easy, as I was migrating from Windows 10 to a brand-new Windows 10 machine, but no luck. The instructions are deceptively simple -- one little card in the box. After a couple hours of transferring, it said it was complete, but when I attempted to shut down, it said the transfer was incomplete. I ended up on the phone with close support for two hours to get another transfer started. The agent had to remote in to both machines. After the second attempt (another hour-plus for the migration), again the program said it was complete, but my Microsoft Office and Quicken programs did not migrate. I called back and was on the phone for -- wait for it -- ANOTHER two+ hours. That agent, too, remoted into both machines. At the end of that time, AND another hour-plus transfer session, the software still did not migrate. At this point, I was told I was being "elevated" for "level 2" support. I was told someone would call within 48 hours to help me. It is now past that window, and I have heard NOTHING from the company. I would return this if I could, but the software is opened and the key was used. It was a complete waste of money. I ended up buying new versions of both Microsoft Office and Quicken, and the expense of this worthless software was just more money down the drain. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

PC Mover is a great buy. Needed to move all files and programs from my old Windows 10 computer to my new Windows 11 computer. PC Mover handled the transfer of everything in an expedient and mistake free manner. I am more than satisfied with this program. Have used it twice now and it has not disappointed. Highly recommend it.

It works as advertised to move files from one machine to another. We had a lot of software for specialty printers and other business equipment. The equipment was no longer recogonized by the new compute. Totally frustrating.

I have used PC Mover in the past and had excellent results with transferring files and programs from one PC desktop to the next. However, I have learned the software is not simple to use with the new desktop configurations where you have a solid state hard drive or C drive with limited space coupled with a traditional hard drive as D drive with a lot of space. Even after contacting PC Mover technical support, I spent several hours attempting to understand how to handle the transfer and learned that I needed to carefully handle my IPhone backups done on my old PC and reduce the programs transferred to fit on the C drive. Much of my research was self driven via the internet and painstaking before I was able to transfer and set up my new PC as I wanted. It actually took learning how to "program" or transfer via computer language to properly setup iPhone backups on my new PC. It was tiring and complicated and I wish I could tell you all the steps, but you hope the programmers of PC Mover will consider the division of C: and D: configurations in the future to make it all painless.

Took a little patience, but was able to transfer all from my old computer to my new one successfully! Process was not entirely transparent, but I understand the complexity and the myriad differences in systems that had to be taken into account for this to work - good job Lap-link again - been using your products for decades!

Worked better than similar products that I have used in the past

Overall the program works great. Data and programs transfer with one notable exception. Although it transfers the files, Quickbooks always fails in some way to transfer properly and fails on the new computer. Other programs may have minor issues that are easily "repaired," but QB always fails to the point of needing to be uninstalled and reinstalled.

Conditionally, I give this 5 stars. I've used it twice. The first time was to transfer from a 4-5 year old lap top to a new one. That took forever (7 hours) and my old PC did not survive the transfer. It simply refused to reboot after. The second time I used it is a week later after the new laptop PC I had bought turned out to have a bum lid switch. This transfer took about 35 minutes and both PCs worked fine after. So I can only guess the initial problem was not due to PCmover, but my old computer. In both instances, the actual process was very straightforward.

This made transferring to a new laptop relatively painless, and the transfers went much more quickly than I anticipated. Gave it a 4 instead of 5 due to a few glitches in the transfers, but nothing to create big problems. I guess I would have been surprised if there had been no blips.

PC mover worked as advertised! It transferred all my items of choice without any issues. It transferred the files, settings, and apps from the old to the new computer while I slept overnight.
