    I have had the same box fan for years, so maybe I don't have a good frame of reference, but this fan is not quiet. It says something like "three quiet modes" on the box, but oh boy was it not very quiet at all. It sits fine and came with the little plastic feet and it works like a fan is supposed to, so I don't have any real complaints. Even how loud it is isn't really that big of a deal to me. I would say that if you're sensitive to loud fans, then this is not the fan for you.

    During this heat wave, I am enjoying my Lasko 20 inch Circulating Box Fan. It has three speeds -- 1 (Low), 2 (Medium) and 3 (High). It is exactly what I expected. It keeps the air moving and provides a nice breeze to help keep the place cool. I highly recommend the Lasko 20 inch Circulating Box Fan, even if you already have an air conditioned space. It supplements the air conditioner to help keep things cool and breezy!

    It’s noisy but most box fans are but it blows out enough air to cool off my bedroom on those really hot days when the temperature was almost 100. My upstairs gets extremely hot in the summer and this fan helped to keep it bearable.

    Bought three of these to place inside an outdoor shed a patio sitting area and an outdoor open shed which is a laundry room. Quiet moves huge amounts of air light. I was happy to see that the exterior frame is metal which keeps vibrations to a minimum, I've seen as of these with plastic cases but these are metal. Metal controls noise & vibrations.

    This is very useful for circulating a large amount of air without too much noise. I'll usually stick one in a window when the weather is nice.
