My friend who is a history teacher loves this for her class - a true classic

It's one of my mom's favorite movies, so happy to see it released on blue ray.

Excellent movie and a very good price but doesn't go by the book.

Great movie in Blu- Ray from a few years back with an inspiring sound track. There will never be another Hawkeye like Daniel Day Lewis. Great cast: Madeleine Stowe, Johdi May & Wes Studi whom I like a lot more today than I did in this movie. Russel Means, whom disliked in real world as an Indian activist, did a great job as the last of the Mohicans & who could not like his son Uncas (Eric Schweig). Buy it.

This is such a well done movie and Daniel Day-Lewis is amazing in his role as Hawkeye. The fact that this was filmed in North Carolina where I live makes it especially interesting for me. But no matter where you're from, this is a wonderful movie with a compelling story and an even more compelling "villain". Be sure to watch the Making Of story for some great background.

This is a movie based upon a classic novel and well done.

The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans -- his father Chingachgook and his adopted half-white brother Hawkeye live in peace alongside British colonists. But when the daughters of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict of which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War.

One of my favorite all time movies. The background theme is emotionally moving. One of Daniel Day-Lewis’s best movies. Takes place during the time when the Redcoats were trying to rule the colonies in the New World; Young America. A passionate movie of love and war. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend you do.

Anyone interested in a historical fiction accounting of one man's life during the French and Indian War will enjoy this. It gives you the prospective of native Americans trying to adapt to the onslaught of European colonialism and a love story to boot! I became interested in the movie after listening to some of the soundtracks. Then I happened upon a YouTube channel which had behind the scene exposition of how the movie was made. That made me purchase the video and never regretted it.

There is nothing about this movie that I don't like. From the story, to the actors, shoot I even have the soundtrack. The movie has everything. Love, courage, trust, faith, sadness, betrayal, a wonderful bad guy, an incredible hero and holy cow the scenery. Yep, truly my favorite movie. If you haven't watched it, take some time to do so. You won't be disappointed.

Mann pays tribute to the 1936 version, which he is admittedly a fan of, and uses the script of as a template. In doing so, he's made one of the all-time great adventure films, with outstanding cinematography (It won the BATFA.), and terrific performances. Its score is legendary, and inspires the viewer. It's a love story, a tale of heroism, and an exciting adventure film. Not to be missed, and this version is never going to be topped. I wish there was a 4K version of this great movie

"THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS" IS MY VERY FAVORITE FILM OF ALL TIME AND I ADORE DANIEL DAY-LEWIS. OF ALL DANIEL DAY-LEWIS'S BRILLIANT PERFORMANCES, THIS IS MY FAVORITE AND, ALSO, FEATURES FINE PERFORMANCES FROM SEVERAL NATIVE AMERICAN ACTORS INCLUDING WES STUDI. I OWN EVERY FILM HE HAS EVER MADE ON DVD OR BLU-RAY. I PURCHASED THIS PARTICULAR COPY AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR MY FOSTER DAUGHTER WHO IS IN THE AIR FORCE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Old TV finally died and I upgraded to 48" screen and Blu Ray player. This was one of my first Blu Ray movies. Picture is outstanding and you feel like you are there. I'm old school though and it bugs me that movies don't fill my screen. Does Hollywood actually have no earth beneath and sky above ? Seems televisions have matured but many movie templates have not. I feel I'm watching a great movie with a set of horse blinders on limiting my ability to see while in my own home.
