I dont understand why I am seeing a lot of "Darkness Karaoke" and "Darkness cover band" reviews. This is a brilliant cd! Classic Darkness. Do not listen to the nay sayers (they always love to complain). This cd is fantastic and you will be addicted. The only thing that I laughed at is my release had a typo on the back. They listed a couple tracks twice on the back. Hmm, maybe mine will be worth something one day when this is looked at as a classic album from back in the day ;)

They out did them shelves on this one. Best to date. These guys are like a new Queen, if you like Queen you will like The Darkness, The last of our kind-what a statement. Yes you should have been in the 70's generation, you would have fit. Its nice that some of the 70.s spirit is still around.. I am from that generation, love these guys. if you like classic rock, retro, so on. get this album it rocks. All there albums are good, this is the best to date, No disappointment here.

Fans of previous releases from The Darkness are sure to enjoy this latest outing. I've been asked to compare it to the first three albums and I find that hard to do. This band continues to change their style, without going overboard and alienating the sound that got them to this point. The first single off "Last Of Our Kind" is "Barbarian", a solid song for sure. I recommend this album for fans of the band, and if you can only choose one song...choose "Mudslide".

I never cared for The Darkness. I really hated the high falsetto of the lead singer, but when I heard the song "Open Fire" I instantly loved it and had to check out the rest of the album. I'm happy to say he's really toned down the falsetto and there's some great tunes, especially on the first half. Definitely recommended.

I thought the first album from the Darkness, Permission to Land, released in 2003 was excellent. I fell the three since including this one have all been good but did not better their debut. Having said that, if you like layered guitars and high pitched vocals this is for you. Reminds me a lot of both Queen and Boston.

The Darkness frankly started off as kind of a gimmick or comedy band, but 4 albums later, they have really come into their own as an amazing hard rock band. This album does not disappoint, Justin Hawkins still hits all the highnotes effortlessly, i wholeheartedly recommend this album!

Just can't take that song out of my mind. The first 3 tracks are excellent, still need a second or 3rd listen, but definitely if 3 songs of a record sticks into your head on the first listen these days, the record must be good. Awesome work Darkness!!!

I believe this is one of their best. great rockers in the classic sense. Great guitars, great vocals, great songs. Drummer is very good-too bad she's gone but I hope the Taylor guy is just as good. He has excellent pedigree- Roger Taylor's son.

Unlike any other bad in rock or metal, the Darkness have always been a truly unique act. Embracing the insanity of late 70's/ slash 80's rock. They are what's desperately needed in today's music scene. Awesome record!

While I understand they may just be trying to grow as musicians, their flair has increasingly dropped. This isn't bad, but it doesn't seem to have the punch of "trying to impress". Call me again when they're hungry.

Probably the best album since their debut. If you liked that, check it out. Only real difference is not as many falsetto vocals here, which based on your taste, could be a good or bad thing.

This CD is passable, but unlike previous work, nothing really jumps out as memorable. Starting to feel like I am only buying The Darkness music just to complete the set.

It took me a couple of listens before I found at least a handful of the songs worth keeping on my ipod. Sadly, I think the ship has sailed for this group.

This record gives you the best parts of the 70's 80's rock and roll. The falsetto gets a little over the top, but the music is just solid rock and roll.
