    Best Game for the Price

My friend introduced me to this game after I fell out of World of Warcraft (for the 3rd or 4th time), and after he explained the game, I figured I would give it a shot. I had read a lot about DotA (Defense of the Ancients / Warcraft 3 Map), and was always interested. But I didn't have Warcraft 3 and I was not going to buy it for just DotA. After reading a bit and downloading the client I began my tutorial match and saw that the principles in this game are pretty basic. However, it is extremely tough to become good. League of Legends is free from their website, so if you have not tried it yet like the others I suggest you try it first. If you already have friends playing this helps with the excitement trust me. Play a few rounds and you will not stop. I have played this game about 2 weeks now and I have around 75 matches under my belt. One of the things that may or may not appeal to new players about this game is the fact that it is free!!! But with that there is a bit of a price you pay as the player for free content. In this instance you start the game with a preselected set of champions that you may choose from. But do not get attached because each week they will change the free champion lineup so that newer players can try different characters. So how do you get to keep characters permanently? BUY EM! Not necessarily with money though... you can buy Riot points (or as my friends call them Fist points), with real money to help you purchase content, or each game you play (win or loss) you earn Influence Points (IP) in which you can use to buy content. Though it takes many games to save up for some champions, some champions can be unlocked with IP with 10 victories or less. So the choice is yours. Buying this product though gives you about 1/2 the champions available in game currently, and if your favorite champion (like Blitzcrank for me) is not included in this pack, then you get $10 worth of riot points to go get them. WIN!!! Also currently this pack is offering an additional skin with its purchase. Right now the special skin is for the Champion Annie (HAVE YOU SEEN MY BEAR TIBBERS!?) which puts her in a goth costume. Annie is a great character to have an additional skin for and she is extremely fun to play. With that I will see you in game. Friend me and let me know you read my review (Player name: Boomerkins)

Great for a certain group of gamers. Try it first.

Warning!! Read this first: This game will not work offline. It is a total online game. The actual game is free, so try it first from their website. This package gives you 20 champions, 4 runes, 10 dollars of Riot Points (their currency) and a blue Kayle skin (That is what I got from this one. You may get another skin). Play the game before you buy this and think about if you want 20 Champions. Unlocking these champions (if you didn't buy this) while playing the game will take a long time. The Kayle skin is pretty cool, but you may not use it much if you don't like the Kayle champion. The 10 dollars of Riot Points is a good addition if want to buy a skin, champion and/ or an XP/IP boost from the game's store. Gameplay: The game isn't much of a single player game so don't buy it for just that feature. The game is meant to be played against other people online. LoL is about killing the opposing team with your spells/abilities/weapons. The set-up/controls are similar to Warcraft 3, so if you played that or DotA you will be very familiar with this game. It has RPG elements as well as strategy in this game. Kill enemies and their minions to get gold to buy items. Features a new bush concept to where you can't be seen while in bushes. You get extra Summoner Spells to help you fight. Your summoner gets to equip runes and spec into a mastery tree to enhance your champions. Every champion has a passive bonus, 3 basic spells, and an ultimate spell. Graphics: Pretty Artistic and Cartoony. They aren't the best you have seen, but its not painful to look at. See the website. Story: Sadly there is almost no story and is focused on player vs player. Each champion has their own story behind them though. Replay Value: If you like this game you will play it over and over and over again. Killing others in the game almost never gets old. Difficulty: The game features a tutorial. This helps you learn about the game fairly well. This difficulty after that is about how you can out-smart another person.

    First impressions

This is a preview based on _beta_ for people who are thinking about picking this up. First of all, I have to say I like dota but there were some things I just don't think they can do with the WC3 engine/mods. LoL is very much in the same vein as DOTA (5v5, creeps, towers etc), but there are things I like much better i.e. buying items is just from one shop, and if you have enough money you can buy a high lvl item and it will automatically buy the items below it. (i.e. you could buy Sange & Yasha straight up) The heroes are all very enjoyable to play, and all have unique models, (everything from moogles to pirates, yarrr) voices, and abilities. The skills are pretty awesome I must say, I think they are much more aesthetically pleasing than DOTA. (once again, engine limitation) LoL also has a couple of leveling systems. Both work to enhance particular playstyles, i.e. things to enhance damage, or cooldowns etc. I won't spoil everything you can do, mostly because they might change, but both systems are designed pretty well, and are cool for custom tailoring heroes to your playstyle. LoL also tracks your account wins/losses/leaves etc, so hopefully there will be something implemented to discourage leavers. The only couple of detractors I can see right now are A. less heroes, and B. (a big one) Lack of deny. More heroes are being added every week it seems, and I bet they'll release more, so I don't see A. being a problem... As for B, some of my "hardcore" dota friends see this as a big issue, but I'm still on the fence. (keep in mind they may change this, since it's still beta) On one hand, denying (i.e. killing an allied unit) is a good way for skilled players to slow down enemy experience, gold etc. On the other hand, I like a game where everyone has a decent chance to at least get into the game a little before being overwhelmed. In the end skilled players will still prevail, but it at least lets newer players level up and get money easier than in DOTA. In a DOTA game with a skilled vs new player, the level difference gets huge between denying and kills. In LoL, the new player will probably still die, but they have a better chance of keeping pace early on. Maybe they'll have different modes, some allowing denies, who knows? Overall I've had a blast playing LoL, and I've had much better games than pugging DOTA. (which isn't saying much I know) It's much less intimidating to get into, and it's got great replay value, definitely worth a play.

    Great Game!

I really feel this is going to be one of the best reviewed games out there now. It has really great graphics, there are going to be multiple different maps(they're already talking about a 3v3 map), a plethora of characters and they are adding more every day, the camera system works wonderfully, the pinging system is great as well, the minimap displays much better than Dota, the heroes are all fairly decently balanced. The Deny Ability, is the ability to attack your own creeps and deny your enemy the ability to gain experience from the kill. This was one of the biggest things in Dota that seperated the pro from the elite. While it is not implemented in this game, I'm not sure how to feel about it... Leavers still do occur in this game, only now, they can feed a bunch, leave for twenty minutes, then log back into the game and continue playing and feeding some more. It's happen occasionally in a few of my games, and one of my biggest complaints. Friends list is bugged, very hard to save friends, it erases them occasionally, also, not sure but i'm pretty sure there is only one server, its a great server, but it seems like I can never find my friends i want to play with on it. While I really hate the feeding leavers, it is really great part of the game that you can reconnect, I dropped from a game when my power went out, turned my power back on, logged by in and was back in the game in less than 5 minutes. That was an amazing feat, could never happen with WC3's Dota. All in all the issues I have with the game have nothing to do with the gameplay itself, I find the game to be addictive gameplay, and is currently one of my favorite games to play.

    Superb Game!!!! Just Get IT!

I've only been playing for about 4 days and I'm just hooked!!!! This game is actually free, but with this pack you get access to over half the characters. You also get a fan map and a guide which shows you how to play and a $10 riot card. Well worth the money!!! This game provides unlimited strategies and constant fun with so many heros to choose from. The first day I played it free and was already hooked on it. I immediatly bought my copy at best buy seeing that it gave me more characters. Right now I have all of them and gotta say each is unique in their own way!!!!! Take my word for it. Buy the game pack! You won't regret it! If you're still not convinced then just play it for free till you realize you should've bought this!!!!!! Of course it's never too late! ; ) LoL is based off of Warcraft III game mode DoTA. If you like that, then you will love this. I suggest everyone to get this!!!!!!!!!!

Since I have bought it I have forgotten about the other games I have, its just that fun and addicting! (NOTE: The actual game is free to play, but this will greatly broaden the playing experience. Also I would try the game out to see if you like it first, because for what you pay for this you get alot in the game. I would hate to see that go to waste! NOTE 2: Oh! and one more thing is the disc does not hold the key to the stuff you get, but the piece of paper inside the box does. The disc is just a physical copy of the game. NOTE 3: Requires internet!!)

This is simply a collector's pack for a free game. If you have intend to spend money on the game for any of it's upgrades, it is worth the deal. You get more value from starting with the collector's patch. Downside to buying from the local store, no locations in my area kept the unit in stock forcing me to purchase online. This included the Best Buy locations.
