I've been an eBike admirer from afar so I was excited to be able to review the Lectric XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range eBike. After using the bike for about 50-ish miles, I think it's a great bike that doesn't have too many drawbacks.
Set up was simple after removing the insane amount of protective wrapping from the bike, but it was as simple as putting the handle bars in place, unfolding and latching the mid-frame and connecting the cable to make everything work. A couple adjustments of screws and bolts to make sure things were how I liked them and I was done. I plugged it in and let if charge up overnight.
The next day, I had no real plan to do anything except to ride around downtown and get a feel for the bike. Unfortunately, the bike came with no instruction manual in the box so I pulled up the PDF on my phone and gave it a look. Figured out how to turn it on and the found out how all the different modes worked and unlocked the full Class 3 capabilities of 28mph.I'm willing to take the range hit as I'll never need to go anywhere that would require me need the range or not stay anywhere that I can't readily charge it. Immediately disliked the fact that the "ignition" is under the frame, as it's awkward and easy to forget your key in the bike. But getting to my first ride after walking it to the road from 4th floor apartment, you could see how maybe a smaller person would struggle with the size and weight of the bike. Luckily, there is a Walk Mode to assist with walking with the bike, but it tends to move at the pace of a light jog. But getting to actually riding, it was pretty straight forward, the throttle on the right handle bar, along with the Shimano 7 speed gear selector. The controller on the left to control the center display which is bright and legible in direct sunlight. Get going with the pedals and twist the throttle to get you up to speed. Slowing down with the disc brakes felt a little lacking so after some more riding I've learned to slow down a bit farther to ensure I don't squirt out into cross traffic. The ride was fine, the front fork suspension did its job soaking up the pavement imperfection, wider/thicker tires/wheels probably would have had the same effect of the suspension and probably saved on cost. The seat took a few miles to break in and it is pretty narrow. Overall, my first ride was more of me getting to know its capabilities, my capabilities and how I would fit it into my life/routine.
After a few more rides I was getting the hang of the bike and enjoying just being out and about. I have a few accessories on the way from Lectric to make my rides and uses a little better as I'll be utilizing it run errand around the city and small to medium grocery runs to save me utilizing my EV.
Overall, it's a great bike and incredibly well built and if Lectric released a Cafe-styled e-Bike, I'd drop my own money on it.
We thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and hope to hear more about your adventures in the future! We will be happy to pass your feedback along to our team for you. Happy riding!

No manual in the box.
Didn’t work after trying to use YouTube to set it up.

The XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range is a great eBike for me with an excellent feature set and great add-on options.
Design
The frame has a low, step-thru design, as advertised. I find it very easy to step through at this height. The frame feels solid. I like the design of the hand grips too, they kind of flair out under your palm. The rear cargo rack is welded to, and really part of, the frame. The feels firm but comfortable for me. While I think it's on the firm side the size is big enough to distribute weight well which I think makes it comfortable. There is a center mounted display with the controls for it mounted by the left hand grip. The gear shift is by the right hand grip, and the throttle is a grip/twist throttle on the inner part of the right hand grip. There's a head light, a red light in the back under the seat, and the display is back-lit. I like the black bike with blue writing and accents. The back rack of the bike can hold up to 150 lbs and the total bike weight limit, rider and rack, is 330 lbs. Handle bars and the seat have quick releases as well as the axles. The pedals also fold for better storage. The bike folds well. You kind of need to watch moving parts like pedals and the clasp as you fold it, but folding works well. There's a Velcro strap that's included which is a huge help to hold the bike tires together when folded. Use this on the inside of the bike tires and it seems to hold everything together safely, making it easier to lift. The handle, built into the frame, is a huge help for folding and lifting.
Controls
There are three buttons to control the display and electronics, a "+", "-", and a power button. Power is also used as mode, or to change screens. Plus and minus are used to change the Petal Assist power. The Power button will toggle through these displays at the bottom:
- Odometer
- Trip A, this resets when the bike is turned off, there is no Trip B
- Voltage, Battery Voltage
- Current, Current being used from the battery
- Trip Timer
The battery level and speed are always displayed as well as if the lights are on and the petal assist setting. You can also, separately, toggle the current speed to average or max using "+" and the power button. The voltage and current displays can give extra insight into how strong the battery is and how quickly it's being used but the battery indicator has 10 levels/dots and I think is very good by itself.
Throttle Features
You can use the throttle by twisting the inside part of the right handle grip. I was glad to see that it's not just on or off, but you can go at different speeds depending on how far to twist it. Even better, there is a "Cruse Control" you can use to keep it at a given speed when you use the throttle so you can release the throttle once it's set. Just hold the "-" while you twist the throttle. Cruse Control is stopped when you use the break. I tested this and really like having the cruse control. It also has a walking mode (just hold down "-"), which works well too and it made for you to be able to walk your bike with less effort.
Riding the XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range
I'm loving riding this bike! For me the twist throttle took some getting used to but works well. Most of the time I use the petal assist, which I think has a good feel. Sometimes it feels like it's pushing but a lot of times it's more like it's helping me, or like I'm stronger than I am. I had 13.5 mile ride on a rail trail and was excellent! I've also done lots of hills. The petal assist makes a huge difference on hills and just works well for everything else. I've been on paved road as well as grass and dirt trails. I still get a great workout using the petal assist, I just cover a lot more ground, which is more fun for me! By changing the default setting which restricts the petal assist to 20 MPH, I was able to have it help me up to 28 MPH and I actually got up to 32 MPH, I was impressed! The manual does note that if you change this setting, it becomes a Class 3 eBike and you need to remove the class 2 eBike sticker. You can change it back though. The bike feels solid and well made as I ride. The front oil suspension is great and the hydraulic disc brakes also work great. I hit some bad bumps and the front suspension handled them well. The brakes were excellent, even going down very steep hills. With the Long Range version of this bike I was able to do a huge amount of biking, using throttle as well as a lot of pedal assist. From 1 bar left it took about 6 or 7 hours to charge
Make sure to check the settings in the manual. There are a lot of settings you can adjust, like the max pedal assist speed as I mentioned above but also things like the sensitivity of the pedal assist.
Summary
The XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range seems to be a well made eBike with a lot of features! The only thing I think could be helpful that it doesn't seem to have is a Trip B function, as I would like to be able to track a whole ride as well as part of it here and there - at the same time. But it has everything else I could think of and more. I haven't used it a ton but I love the Cruse Control for the throttle and expect that to come in handy. Lectric also makes a lot of accessories for it that could be very useful. There's a seat with handle bars and pegs that I think would be a great add-on as well as different kinds of baskets and holders. You can even get a seat with more padding that includes a new seat post that has suspension built-in. If you're looking for an eBike that is well made, with components like oil suspension and hydraulic brakes, and has a lot of features and options, I think the XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long Range is a great option!
Thank you for providing us with a detailed review of your experience with the XP Step-Thru 3.0. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you continue to enjoy your new eBike. Please feel free to share any further adventures with us in the future.

Great bike. Easy to assemble. You just unfold it. Great acceleration. Beefy tires. Only complaint is factory set screws on back fender fell out. And you can not easily replace them or get to them.

My husband and I both got XP 3.0s about a month ago and have been loving taking them out for evening and weekend rides. They were easy to set up out of the box and we love that they're foldable so we can pack them up in the back of his truck to bring along on trips out of town. We both love walking, but it's been such a fun change of pace exploring cities on our new eBikes.
We are so glad to hear that both of you are enjoying your new XP 3.0 eBikes! Feel free to keep us posted on all of your adventures!

Fun bike - get the warranty. Easy to fix. I do recommend it but get the warranty. I was able to get 33 mph but had to take to shop because the tubes are bad. Haven’t been able to get 33mph after the shop. That’s why I recommended the warranty.
