The initial stiffness you’re experiencing is a safety feature, ensuring that the adapter maintains the tolerance required for high voltage charging across version 3 and 4 Superchargers, taking into account slight variation differences in connector sizing.
This tightness will ease after 3-5 uses while still upholding its safety standards per industry guidelines (UL225).
Here’s how to safely disconnect your adapter:
After charging, wait a moment for your vehicle and the charger to end communication before attempting to remove the adapter.
First, push the adapter forward then fully press the release switch on the underside of the adapter to remove the Supercharger connector.
Then, remove the adapter from your vehicle.
