I purchased this to keep a little bitcoin I generated from mining. I did not want to keep it online as hacking is a concern and I'm not a trader so I wasn't going to be doing a lot of transactions. Initially, I misunderstood the concept of cold wallet, and thought the keys to the btc would be stored wholly on the Ledger. This is incorrect. Only the private key is stored on it behind an 8 number code and 24 letter recovery seed in case of theft or loss. The public key stays on your Ledger app which allows you to see the balance but not dispose of the btc. It has become a very entertaining activity to have the app open to see how the btc varies up and down. Also, tools are included to purchase, sell, trade or stake (which I don't know what is yet). So I might start purchasing some more crypto when the time is right.

It works great for new crypto players. Just remember that you can't use it on your iPhone. Only useable on your computer.

Bought this item to secure crypto off of hot wallets / exchanges. Good for “set and forget” crypto projects planned assets to be held long term. Easy to use software, only buy new to avoid malware from third parties. Never share your keys.
