From the Oled to the 8.8 screen size to the power this is literally the best handheld you can get on the regular market. Only thing that would make it better is if i could upgrade the space right now.

This is easily the most powerful available handheld on the market with the best screen too, allowing for a VRR range of 30-144Hz, smoothing gameplay from low to high frames. However, this handheld has some pretty glaring issues regarding that same panel. At low brightness it has a bad Mura effect on the OLED panel, making it very annoying to play certain games as the effect distorts colors and makes the panel look grainy. Barring the panel, the devices performance is extremely good. This handheld commonly outperforms its competitors like the ROG Xbox Ally X in many games, pair that perfomance with 32GB of ram and this device will not disappoint anyone looking for the best of the best. That power comes at a cost though, this device is bulky as it weighs 2lbs, which would be even more if you added an aftermarket case. While that may not sound very bulky, after about an hour or two of holding it in the air, your arms will start to tire. There is also the awkward right joystick position, it is located just far enough down that it makes it uncomfortable to use. If paired with the weight of the device, it can get pretty annoying to hold. The price point of this device is also absurd, at $1350 there is much better options when it comes to value for money, like the ROG Ally X, Legion Go S or even the Steam Deck. Overall, this device is for the people who purely want the best performance + screen in a handheld form factor and don’t have to worry about value for money.

This handheld has been spectacular! For context tried to use an ROG Ally X earlier this year and I just could not get into it. 7in screen just did not cut it. The lego2 is phenomenal in this regard. The screen is gorgeous clearly the best among any handhelds undisputed. The ergonomics are also great although that's more of a subjective thing they certainly work great for me. So far my longest session with this has been 10+ hours and it's handled it like a champ. Battery life is pretty great easily going for 5+ hours on lower tdp games. Makes for an exceptional flight companion. The amount of programmable buttons is also quite nice makes it easy to map everything I want. Overall just an awesome device and with that gorgeous screen likely going to be great long past it's capabilities as an awesome game streamer too!
That said it is pricey and could use a storage bump, I did end up plopping a 4Tb ssd and it is nice that I supports the 2280s but of course that brings the price even higher.

Best handheld PC on the market

Hands down the top dog in the handheld PC market. It's only downside is the thing is weighty and also the largest handheld, but this is made up for by its performance, versatility and the best screen you can get short of moving to a laptop or desktop PC. Speaking as an enthusiast who has bought most of these handhelds as they come out, the only one out there which can compete with the Legion Go 2 is the MSI Claw 8 AI+. which I also have and really enjoy.

Lenovo Legion Go 2 – A Serious Upgrade That Feels

I’ve spent solid time with the Lenovo Legion Go 2, and honestly, this feels like Lenovo really listened to feedback from the first gen. The performance jump is noticeable right away — games run smoother, load faster, and overall stability is much better, even during longer sessions.
The display is still one of the biggest highlights. It’s sharp, vibrant, and immersive, especially for a handheld. Playing AAA titles or even indie games feels premium, not cramped like on smaller screens. The improved ergonomics make a big difference too — it’s more comfortable to hold for extended gaming without feeling awkward or fatiguing.
Controls feel tighter and more responsive, and the detachable controller concept still sets it apart from competitors. It’s great for switching between handheld mode and tabletop setups without feeling gimmicky. Battery life is improved compared to the original, and while it’s still a powerful device that benefits from tuning settings, it’s more reliable for real-world use.
What I appreciate most is how versatile it is. It’s not just a gaming device — it genuinely works as a portable PC when you need it to. Lenovo seems committed to refining the Legion Go lineup, and the Legion Go 2 feels like a confident step forward rather than a minor refresh.
If you’re into handheld PC gaming and want something powerful, flexible, and different from the usual options, the Legion Go 2 is absolutely worth considering.

Lenovo Listened To What Everyone Wanted

Lenovo simply listened to what everyone wanted in an upgrade to the original Legion Go that there should not be any surprises. However, people should not be surprised that all these things cost a premium and that’s where the legion go 2 comes in. This is a big device and anyone looking at this probably already knows this from having the original. The ergonomics were improved from the first device so they are better but keep realistic expectations with a device this size. The screen blows everything else out of the water with a 8.8” OLED with VRR and 144HZ refresh rate. The Z2E chip isn’t the biggest jump in performance but the other upgrades to screen, ergonomics, 32GB RAM, improved speakers and improved software is exactly what people asked for. The price might seem high, but the cost of these upgrades are what they are. The rog xbox ally x might have better ergonomics but the chip is the same, it has less RAM and the screen is terrible. This is the device to best right now and is well worth the high price.

Lenovo followed the small ideas as the original legion go. Detachable controllers that are more ergonomic making it less of a strain on your hands over long play sessions. FPS mode now has a puck that wil latch to the remote so it doesn’t go flying or falling off when in use. Only handheld with an oled screen and hdr with VRR. Bigger battery and better cooling. Performance over original varies with marginal gains over the previous model. Included carrying case is welcome however feels like a downgrade when compared to the hard case the came with the original legion go. Other things I’ve noticed after using for a few days. Uma buffer for video ram is set to 2gb from the factory leading to poor performance and the power controller is set to manual instead of auto leading to stability and crashing issues both of which can only be changed in the bios. Sometimes the quick access menu button just fails to do anything turned on the simple fps counter and after a few minutes of verifying settings stability could not bring up the quick access menu without restarting the whole device. Legion space is definitely more fluid however there seems to currently be a bug that shows Bluetooth being on even if it is turn off in windows. My least favorite thing is the joysticks while they do have better placement this time around they still seem to want to go all over the place with the slightest movement or maybe I got a bad unit I have no idea since I haven’t seen much about the joysticks being talked about yet. Hopefully a third party manufacturer will step up to the plate and offer replacements at some point.

Is it expensive? Yes.
Is it worth it? Abso-freaking-lutely.
I've gone through a laundry list of handheld PCs now - I've owned the ROG Ally Z1E, ROG Ally X, Legion Go 1, Steam Deck OLED, MSI Claw 8ai+, and OneXPlayer F1 Pro. All of these devices were great in their own ways, but had compromises either in performance or efficiency. Legion Go 2 is the only one that I truly cannot put down that I have no major complaints about, so much so that I've sold all of my other handhelds.
Let's start with the star of the show: THE SCREEN. This is hands down the best screen in this form factor. Colors pop, VRR minimizes stuttering, and the resolution is just right. I am shocked just how good this display is and after using the Go 2, I couldn't go back to another device, even if they also had an OLED screen. I hope that Lenovo releases a lightweight tablet that leverages this display in the future.
The speakers are much improved from Gen 1. I returned the Legion Go almost immediately because the speakers on that device were an absolute joke. Even though they are still top firing, the sound stage is much bigger and I've had 0 issues with it.
Battery life on this device is incredible. I love how I can just charge it while not in use, then play through an entire session without having to plug in again. The Z2 Extreme is very efficient at lower wattages and the battery is much improved over the previous model as well.
Ergonomically, it feels very good in the hands and somehow feels lighter than the Gen 1 Go. It's still heavy compared to other devices in the market and you will feel some strain if your favorite way to play is in bed like me. I don't love the release mechanism of the controllers and wish that Lenovo implemented a magnetic mechanism like the Switch 2. The trackpad is the best one I've used on a non-Steam Deck handheld. I love the bottom port for charging. One minor gripe I have is the sheer number of buttons on this device which are really hard not to press inadvertently just from gripping it. Would be great if Lenovo could release controllers that are a little more trimmed down on the extra buttons.
Minor complaints:
The carrying case is a soft one. I wish they provided a hard case like the Gen 1 Go.
The controller sticks have very low resistance. Not bad enough to be a dealbreaker.
Would have liked to see a 2TB SSD at this price point. Don't love the type of SSD they used either (2242). Upgrading is pretty easy though.
Windows still sucks. Install Bazzite on this and don't look back.

This has been a great device in the time that I’ve had it. If you want a handheld with a big OLED screen with VRR, this is the one to get. The display is perfect. It’s played everything I’ve tried at reasonable settings and the battery life is decent.
There are a couple draw backs with this device:
1)It is a very large device. I have big hands and this thing is barely manageable without shifting my grip.
2)Windows Sleep/Wake is terrible. The device regularly turns back on in my bag and in the middle of the night. Drains the battery and gets hot in my bag.
3)The detachable controllers are cool, but I don’t really see the use. If you have space to put it down and hold the controllers, you’d be better off with a laptop and a controller. I’ve also had to restart the device a couple times to get the controllers to register button presses.
