Amazing device for cloud gaming and PC gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got an open box unit to play xbox pass and cloud games. Great choice .it does that and a whole lot more. Battery is short but for using it around the house and quick gaming sessions on the go.is not bad at all. Battery does last quite a bit more on cloud.gsming, really hasn't been an issue. Screen looks great and audio can be easily adjusted to sound much much better than out of the box.

Good, but Lenovo can do better.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this handheld for a few months and I have to say it's pretty good. I really like the screen and the 144hz refresh rate but I wish it had VRR like on the ROG Ally. I guess the lack of VRR is the price you pay to have a microSD card reader that actually works. The performance on the device is still good as well, and Lenovo is doing really well when it comes to support, with regular updates and a recent LegionSpace overhaul that makes it much more useable. My biggest gripe with the device is how absolutely obnoxiously loud the fans get. Even without maximum fan speed enabled it still gets loud. But the part that really frustrates me is that for how loud the fans are, they don't do a very good job. The device gets hot fast, and the charging port heats up to questionable temperatures. For this reason I always have max fan speed enabled because I'm scared my device will damage itself. The other major issue is the speakers. They quite frankly sound like crap. No amount of EQ tweaking can fix the objectively bad speakers. The ROG Ally's front-facing speakers sound way better. If I were to rank the speaker quality of the main three handhelds from best to worst, the order would be ROG Ally, Steam Deck, and Legion Go. All that being said it's still a good device but the issues listed above should be addressed with the next device Lenovo pushes out. If I could go back I probably would've kept my ROG Ally instead of the Legion Go. It can be found for cheaper and has a lot of advantages such as its lightweight build and the VRR screen. It really is a night and day difference.

LeGo's a go
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Legion Go is an excellent portable option. The display is crisper than my laptops. While plugged in the performance is top notch but when unplugged it can be a struggle to balance battery consumption and performance. This was a very solid start from Lenovo. I am hoping to get my hands on the 2nd one to see what improvements have been made.

Posted .Hi BlackPartyCaptain-
Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your feedback with us. We are excited to hear that you are enjoying the performance and product design of the Legion Go. We aim to provide excellent user experience for our products, and we would like to recommend a few solutions that may improve your battery life while unplugged.
Please ensure that all available updates are installed through Legion Space and Windows Update Settings. These updates can adjust power regulation leading to enhanced battery life. To check for updates in Legion Space, start by launching the Legion Space app and selecting the “Disks and Drivers” button located on the bottom of the homepage. Then click the "Check for Updates" button on the right. To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page. After these updates are installed, please restart your device to ensure all program files are properly installed.
The Legion Go also comes with the ability to adjust the thermal mode based off your needs. To start press the Option hexagonal button on the top right of the right controller. From the side menu you can select the best mode for your use under "Thermal Mode". We recommend using Quiet mode to enhance battery life. You can also adjust the "OS Power Mode" which can enhance battery life or performance. We recommend using "Efficiency" mode to increase battery.
Please reach out to us through the Q & A section of this product page if you have any questions or need assistance.

Not a perfect device, but ideal for certain cases
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic device, but ideal for a certain use case. It excels in performance (pretty much can handle any game out there with the right settings), screen (awesome high-res screen) and compatibility (it runs Windows, so you can run anything). I also really like the kickstand and the two USB-C ports (the Steam Deck and ROG Ally have 1). However, it is fairly heavy compared to the other handheld gaming devices, has loud fans, and is not as comfortable to hold (in terms of ergonomics) as the other handheld devices. I have a Steam Deck as well, and the Steam Deck is much more comfortable to hold for longer sessions. In the end, what I think the Legion Go does better than any other handheld device is being a handheld gaming device that is also a serviceable computer. And it's because of the screen size. I want to pack one device when I travel. The ROG Ally (with its smaller screen that makes you squint to see things or doesn't show enough of a website or spreadsheet) and the Steam Deck (with its Linux operating system that may not run the types of windows-based programs that you need) just don't work as well for that purpose. When traveling with my Steam Deck, I found myself wishing I had brought my laptop. With the Legion Go, I find it's good enough for my short business trips. The 8.8" screen makes a big difference and if you think about it, it's closer to tablet size, while the other devices have screens closer to large phone size. If you're just looking for a handheld device to use at home while sitting on the couch, I'd recommend getting a ROG Ally (if you need Windows compatibility) or a Steam Deck OLED (if you're looking for a more console like experience and better battery life). But if you need a device that gives you the best combo of gaming device and Windows PC, then the Legion Go is the best option. One last thing. If you see older reviews of the Legion Go (let's say before Jan 2024), they may no longer be accurate. Lenovo has pumped out several software updates that have addressed many of the initial shortcomings (with more updates coming). Things like fan curves, dead zones, etc have been addressed fairly well since launch.

Awesome device with a few things to consider
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device is a powerful handheld. The screen is great to play games and when use the Go as a tablet. The speakers are good. At least for me. The lenovo interface could be better. And its a little too heavy for my hands. I love the kickstand implementation and the use of the controllers as “joy-cons.” This device comes with a carrying case. A plus since other devices does no come with one. If you like the windows interface and you don’t mind sacrificing performance over battery life and the weight of the device compared to other is not a problem for you. This is a great powerful device. I highly recommended!

My new Go To device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this device. I can leave my gaming laptop at home when I travel. With Windows 11 I can multitask work and play in a much smaller form factor. I can connect to a monitor of TV if a larger viewing platform is required. Plays my racing and fighting games with issues. Bought an open box which save me a 150.00. Bought it mainly to game from my couch instead of my office. Would be again. Could it use a bigger battery? Yes. Does it get hot? Yes. Knew this going in so, no surprise. I am a casual gamer, so I am sure there are other out there that may not agree with me, but this fits my needs very nicely. Love the large screen.

Magnificent device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device is truly imptessive and a worthy step up from the Steam Deck. Though its more of an enthusiest device, the price is competitive enough in order to be a great upgrade. I love the screen size and detachable controllers. The non OLED screen and no VRR is a minor grip but the main drawbacks are the speaker quality and battery life. Ultimately, i love this little device!

I love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only play on my gaming laptop because I wanted portability wherever I went. When I heard about this device I didn’t know what to think. Now that I’ve had it for over a month I absolutely love it. Granted I only play plugged in since that’s what I’m used to. My girlfriend plays it not plugged in on games like solitaire and it lasts about an hour on battery. That is also because it’s still set to my high wattage for my games So far I’ve only played baldurs gate 3, borderlands 3, bioshock, the evil within 2, and elden ring. All these games run amazing on this device. Of course you have to tweak the settings a bit from the legion button on the right. I thoroughly enjoy this device. Is it on the expensive side? Definitely! But if you have the money I would definitely give this device a go! The updates just keep making this device even better! Also legion space gives out really good deals on games as well. I bought the bioshock collection from it really cheap. Again, overall I really enjoy this device. Once again, I play this 99% of the time plugged in. But it comes with a 6 foot cable so it’s doable for me. I’ve also played this on a plane. I haven’t really touched the FPS mode on the right controller since it’s not really my thing but it’s an ad on for when I do decide to try it! So for those wondering if you should get this I say yes! And if you don’t like it, Best Buy has a good return policy! I remember hearing the negatives being it’s too big and bulky, heavy, and battery life is bad. First, the controllers feel absolutely amazing to hold the device. Second, it’s not as big and bulky as you’d think (yes it’s very big btw). But the size just gives off an amazing screen. As for battery life, yea it may not be the best but all handhelds suffer from battery to some degree. You have a mini laptop in your hands. It’s definitely gonna use up battery. Regardless, that cable that comes with the GO charges your device up real fast! I’m done rambling about this decide now! Again, it’s a great device and I do recommend if you have the money!

My work, school, and gaming computer.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazed by its portability and versatility. I can easily switch from work mode to game mode anywhere and at any time. Steam work great, but there are extra software Lenovo packed into the system I hardly use. Mostly use the program to map the buttons on the controllers or change rgb lights. It is a little clunky and can studer when putting it in/out of sleep mode. No this is not as seamless as the switch, but it does way more than any other handheld. This is currently my work, school, and entertainment computers. Highly recommend, although not for a hard core gamer. Frame drops on battery are noticible on graphic intensive games. Maxing out cpu at high settings will drain battery quickly too. Gorgeous screen. Pass through charging is possible but you have to tinker with it a bit.

Amazing handheld
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing gaming handheld. Screen is gorgeous, feels like a great fit in my hands. Games run very well on it. And it's a full blown Windows 11 PC. If you have a USB-C hub, plug it right in and use whatever other accessories you want - even external monitors. I love it. Don't forget that you can stream games from your more powerful PC's to this device. I tried it in home and it worked flawlessly with Steam. Battery life is a bit of a challenge, but you can get a battery bank to help and play while plugged in if you need to.

Pretty cool.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so cool to have a pocket sized gaming pc that can also be used for any other task a lap top would. Got this for down times at work and it has been a pleasure. Battery life isnt great, but what worthy handheld is now a days. The weight of it is a but much to hold in handheld mode. Im a big guy with big hands and it still hurts my wrists a bit after 20 min of playing. Controller design is not the best and I’m not a fan of them but functions well. Every negative this device has is miniscule to what it offers though and i do not regret purchase at the promo price that is.

Excellent Overall!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lenovo Legion Go has completely exceeded my expectations. The build quality feels premium, the controls are comfortable, and the detachable controllers are a game-changer—especially for FPS games. The 8.8" QHD+ display is absolutely stunning, with sharp visuals and smooth performance that make every game look amazing. What impressed me most is how powerful this handheld is. It handles AAA titles much better than I expected for a portable device, and Lenovo’s software makes switching modes and customizing controls really easy. Battery life is solid for the performance it delivers, and the kickstand is super convenient for tabletop play. If you're looking for a portable gaming device that blends performance, versatility, and a premium feel, the Legion Go is one of the best options out there. Highly recommended!

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent machine. Everything you'd want from a Windows Gaming system. It's on the heavy side, but the kickstand allows you to rest the Legion Go on a table or your chest and still comfortably grip the controls. The detachable controllers seem gimmicky at first, but FPS mode is a legitimate value addition as a portable mouse. The USB C on the top and the bottom is a thoughtful design addition. Highly recommend. Battery life isn't great but can be controlled to a reasonable level with performance tradeoffs.

Happy with my purchase!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was hesitant at first but so far this thing has proven itself. It has less battery life than an Ally X but all the other stats are pretty on par. Runs most games perfectly fine with minor frame issues but if you adjust the settings then games run great. Warzone runs fine, Emulators are amazing! Even new games like Soulframe run good and average around 60 FPS on low. Perfect for gaming on the go or just laying in bed. I have a desktop as well but this has been great if I just wanna play and lay on the couch, can stream games straight to it!

Great handheld gaming expierence
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this instead of the Steam Deck because I wanted to play World of Warcraft and not have to run it through an emulator. The screen is very nice, bright and vibrant while also being a good size. It is a little on the heavy side, but that comes with the territory when you get into the detachable controllers. I thought those would be a gimmick, but I honestly enjoy setting it up on the kickstand and playing games that way. You might have to do some research to find the right settings to use, but so far I haven’t had any issues with frame rates with some adjustments on the graphics settings. All in all, a great purchase.

Awesome, but..
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a steam deck oled and went to go try Legion Go. I am very familiar with windows. Pros for legion go: very nice display even if its not OLED, the screen size is massive which i actually like. Gameplay is good too. Battery life is not great but i play most of the time with a powerbank or next to an outlet laying down. The FPS mode is pretty weird and takes a lot of time to get use to, but it works. For some reason games that i really play alot which is Diablo 4 and NBA2k runs smoother in Steamdeck despite optimizing performance in legion go, but not really noticeable. Overall, i prefer the steamdeck oled not because the Legion Go is a bad handheld. Its because of my lifestyle, i am dad which basically play on/off when i can with lots of interuptions and the option the suspend the game and resume hours or even a day or so later on the same spot is a major point for me rather than booting the whole game/system again. I tried hibernating the LG but after couple of mins, game disconnected or crash and has to restart again. Overall, i still recommend this product given how great of a gaming handheld it is, just needs to fit your lifestyle aswell.

Better than the competition!! (For my use case)
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a ROG ALLY (Z1 Extreme), steam deck OLED, and this (Legion Go). The Steam Deck is the easiest to just pick up and go with but is limiting in game selection and performance compared to both other (windows based) handhelds. I found the Ally to be painfully buggy and has some of the worst feeling loose joysticks I have ever had the displeasure of using. The Ally also has much worse battery life than either the deck or go. None of the 3 mentioned handhelds will give you crazy long game times but will give you enough time to scratch the itch at the very least or go slightly beyond. For what I am playing, the Legion Go outlast the others. In my comparison between these 3, I would gladly go with the Legion Go over the rest. Overall, on the device outside of its competition: This thing is large and heavy, but I don't mind that. It's just big enough to actually be usable outside of just launching games. I find myself doing normal computer tasks on this, like shopping, checking emails, or watching youtube. I genuinely enjoy my experience of removing the controllers and just using this as a windows tablet and watching a show in bed as I wind down. The screen is large enough and crisp as all heck. The power management options make the battery no issue for light streaming or browsing. Pretty neat surprise that I wasn't really expecting out of this device. I do not dock this very often, but with a dock this could be the only COMPUTER you need right now. Highly recommend this to anyone in the market for a handheld PC. This goes for any gaming handheld or even PC right now; know that you will have to tweak some setting and get good at doing so on the fly to get good results out of your use cases. All handhelds have some UI to help you here, but you need to gauge your expectations with knowing this is part of the experience.

Well balanced device and the detachable controllers and built in kick stand are great features! Battery life is not extremely long; however I found most scenarios I would have ability to plug in anyways so that was not a game changer for me. Overall, very satisfied and great product!

My New Lenovo Legion Go Obsession
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I grabbed the Legion Go and it instantly became my favorite handheld—those detachable joy‑con style controllers and the massive 8.8″ QHD+ 144 Hz screen feel like gaming on a mini desktop. With the Ryzen Z1 Extreme under the hood, it crushed AAA titles and emulation alike, though I quickly learned to cart around a charger—battery life is solid but not epic. Windows 11 gives me full PC freedom wherever I go, even if the software sometimes reminds me it’s a laptop in handheld disguise.
