I bought this to be able to play my PC games remotely and it is performing phenomenally after almost 2 months with the console. It took a minute to get the settings just right for my games to run smoothly, had me scared in the beginning with how laggy my games were straight out of box. I watched a few YouTube videos and read some forums to get the settings just right and now my game runs like butter. The fan can be a bit annoying with how loud it is but I would rather not risk it overheating with lowering the fan settings. The battery isn’t great but it’s to be expected, boss battles in Silent Hill F will drain the battery pretty quickly but normal gameplay has a pretty decent battery life and internet use/streaming has fantastic battery life. I am extremely happy with this console and was deliberating between this and the steam deck, but I’m so glad I went with the Lenovo Legion Go. The versatility is just what I needed!

I recently tried the Lenovo Legion Go and while there are commendable features, overall, I found it lacking in key areas. Firstly, the design feels bulky, which detracts significantly from its portability. The battery life was disappointing, not lasting as long as I would expect from a device marketed for its mobility. Additionally, the fans were surprisingly loud, even under low stress, which was a bit distracting. From a gaming perspective, which was my primary reason for choosing this device, the performance was underwhelming. Most of the games I tried either played poorly or had display issues, failing to meet my expectations for a Windows portable gaming device. On the positive side, there are aspects I appreciated. The FPS mode is a nice touch, and the detachable controllers add a degree of versatility. The screen size and quality are also impressive, providing a clear and vibrant display. However, as a portable gaming device, the Lenovo Legion Go falls short in several critical aspects. While it has potential and some appealing features, its shortcomings in portability and gaming performance are significant factors to consider.

Looking for a handheld gaming experience as I'm returning to office and will have a commute twice a week, I wanted a large-screen and having Windows as the OS. The Lenovo Legion Go checked of all the boxes. Very comfortable to hold and not too heavy when holding seated, standing, or laying down, the Go allows me to install and play games from my Steam, EA, Epic Games, GOG, and Rockstar accounts. The screen looks great and the ability to play games on the go is a huge plus. Also having a Windows based OS lets me use other products with ease. What I really like is being able to plug and use a USB-C based thumb drive to move files off and on my Legion Go. The areas of concern are sound and battery life. The default sound settings are lame but installing an EQ helped tremendously. Battery life: Is short about an hour or so unplugged while gaming. Browsing internet or watching movies, about 2 hours. I did purchase this as an Open Box Excellent category and had it shipped to me. It arrived in stupendous shape and looks and felt brand new. Only thing missing was the instructional wrapping around the hard case that comes with it. No issues, everything works as intensed. I did contact Lenovo support after registering the Go and they updated the 1-year warranty to my date of purchase so I get the full 12-month term. All I had to provide was proof of purchase (receipt) and it was updated 24 hours later. Highly recommend the Go to anyone looking to get into the handheld gaming realm.

I was looking for a device to play games on the go. I was trying to decide between this, the new OLED steam Deck, ROG Ally, and a mid-high end laptop. I went with this over the other handhelds for the higher resolution screen and the nifty controller funtionalities like turning into a mouse and being detatchable. I think that this also allows it to double as being a very portable tablet/windows device with controllers off which is a huge plus considering I was still rolling around with my old OG Surface Pro. This was a major upgrade to that, just wish it had a foldable keyboard with it and it would be perfect. The mouse functionality is actually very good and works on so many types of surfaces so it was easily worth it to me for that. The controller buttons and analog sticks feel great. There are a ton of buttons all over this thing though that I've yet to even try to map/use. It feels great in hand and the stand is supurb. It plays AAA title games great, although it can take some work on settings to get optimal quality, but you can make the graphics look amazing on the screen with some work. I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2, Baldurs Gate 3, and others with no issues at high graphical fidelty with some tricks like running 800p with interger scaling etc. Lenovo has been fairly active in the Legion Go community and have been greatly improving software/bios in the short time it has been out. I imagine it will continue to improve. I still think the price compared to laptop prices might mean it could have been better to go that route if you want to sacrafice the portability for true WQHD+ gaming performance, but overall, I'm happy with this device and is easily among the best handhelds on market now. Quality of the device hasn't been a concern and the screen really is amazing.

Personally, it's a little too early to give a full review of this item. I feel like a lot of work needs to be done to iron out all the current bugs. As of writing, (11/10/23), Legion Go has released version 1.22 of Legion Space, which has fixed certain things such as no longer needing to hit the right hand short key 4 times to pull up a quick menu, as well as being able to bypass having the Legion Go splash screen torture you with showing the same animation for the 100th time as you start up the device. Aside from that, the graphic drivers are still behind other devices, such as the Rog Ally. I use the Ally as an example cause under the hood they're mostly a 1:1 match. One of my bigger gripes is the feel of the joy cons. Man are they light and feel incredibly cheap. The RB and LB buttons are creaky and plasticy feeling, and getting the controllers off the unit is not as snappy as I thought it would be. Performance overall as of right now is fine-ish. Because of the outdated drivers, a lot of games, I feel, are not playing at their full potential because of the driver state. Battery life is what is to be expected. It's not great. I kimd of knew that going in because even though it has a bigger battery than the Ally, it also has a bigger screen, still uses 30watts at full TDP, the controllers get charged through the machine, can do 144hz, etc. What I'm getting at is, there's a lot of things going on with this unit that battery life would be subpar, and for those wondering, AAA games at 60/144hz, 20-25watt with battery at efficient, I get a little over an hour play. The screen is vibrant and nice. Overall unit weight, it's not too heavy and cumbersome to hold. The unit has grooves around the back of the joy con controllers that your fingers comfortably rest and comfortably reach the triggers. The cooling, toe, is better than the Ally in regards to great it does a job at keeping the temps within a very respectable range. They aren't too loud even when you are playing at full tdp. Working SD card reader is nice. Buttons feel good, triggers are responsive, dpad is fine, nothing crazy. I really like the 2 USB c ports, that's been awesome to have. Egpu; I've been having an issue getting it to run properly. I recently got it to display through my secondary monitor but I'm getting terrible performance. That may be driver related, time will tell. The carrying case is nice, haven't tried FPS mode yet. I'm sure I'm missing some vital stuff, but overall I feel like this handheld will be good in about a few months or so. As of now, I would definitely wait and let things get ironed out so that if you decide to purchase, the device would feel more complete.

Coming from a Steam Deck, which I loved, this thing is next level. Steam Deck has been very good for the escape from Windows OS, but if you don't want to think about compatibility, this negates that pretty completely. Works well with no tweaking. With minor tweaks and resolution upscaling, gets amazing performance for the form factor and the screen rez it pushes. Not OLED, but that's never something I consider a dealbreaker, especially with how good this screen looks at a higher rez. The back buttons are a tad awkwardly placed and aren't symmetrical, but most of the time, that hasn't been an issue. I also never use the right control in "FPS mode", so I have no opinion on that. The fan noise can also hit a small whistle noise at times, but it doesn't really bother me personally. Also, trying to get it to sleep can be a chore. Not sure why exactly, but sometimes it immediately wakes up when putting it in sleep. Big annoying, but I could probably find a better solution if I put some effort in it. The price hike over similar systems was worth it for me, but it's sale price puts it close to being toe to toe with the other options. Highly recommend.

Purchased this along with the Asus ROG Ally and was impressed with the screen size and the inclusive carrying case. I have played with the unit only for a few hours but have been impressed so far with the performance. The software is a bit messy, I have had it crash once so far. I thought I would use with for travel, but it may be a bit big for that. I think this will be used mostly at home, in my bed or front room when I am not on my desktop and want to be in a more comfortable sitting area. Do notice the Asus runs a bit smoother, but still very happy with the Lenovo performance. I think it’s not quite 5 stars because of the weight and not as travel friendly as it may should be. It could be 5 if the software ran smoother for a trouble free experience.

Coming from a lifelong xbox player this was my first ever "gaming pc". That being said, there was some adjusting but with help from YouTube, Reddit, and Google learning the ins and outs of the Legion Go has been easy. I contemplated the Legion Go vs the ROG Ally and after seeing the Ally in person i knew i wanted the Legion Go. The screen is amazing, its not too geavy like everyone says...unless youre a child i guess lol. No SD card over heating, the battery life is not great while not plugged in but what do you expect from a machine like this honestly, and its not bad playing plugged in since it has 2 usb c ports. Or you can always buy an external battery pack, just make sure its output is 65w or higher. I've mainly used it for AAA games, forza, halo, cod, etc. It handles all of them very well you just have to tweak the settings. I mainly bought this because i wanted to play my xbox games while watching tv, i know...3rd world problems but idc. I absolutely love this thing and i use it everyday, which is way more than i touched my xbox and nintendo switch. If youre contemplating buying it then just pull the trigger, i did weeks of research deciding whether or not to buy it and the only thing i regret is not buying sooner. That and spending $800 lol

This is a product that I moved to from my Steam Deck and was deciding between it and a ROG Ally. If I upgrade, I need to know it will be a significant one before committing, and the Legion Go is an incredible upgrade from a Steam Deck. I have seen many people on youtube talk about the Steam Deck being the superior model for ease of use, and I could agree with that to a certain degree. I will admit that I needed to watch 1-2 youtube videos on what I need to do to optimize my Legion Go with before gaming, however, the same could be said about the Steam Deck. Legion Go vs Steam Deck: It’s not a plug and play device and if you don’t want to do anything to your device for a decent gaming experience, then you should absolutely go with the Steam Deck. The Legion Go on the other hand can do everything the Steam Deck could do, but 3-5 times better. There is also something rewarding I felt from optimizing my Legion Go to work at it’s best capacity, and it makes me smile every time I smoothly play a game I could not play on the Steam Deck. I love FPS games and other AAA games like Rocket League and COD, so I was very disappointed when neither could run on my Steam Deck without tons more optimization efforts. I even successfully dual booted windows on my Steam Deck, and I got COD working at first, but it was so much effort to make it work; all for it to barely function. I turned all graphics down and played next to the router, yet there were issues on the Steam Deck that just made the whole thing unenjoyable and a far cry from being plug and play. Not to belabor the point, but going in and out of dual booting is not fun, especially with windows 11 or 10 (yes I tried both) and it caused me to always be behind on updates that allowed me to play the games since you can't auto update Windows while playing on SteamOS. After I fully optimized my Legion Go in the beginning, there hasn't been a single thing I needed to tweak since! All games that barely ran on my Steam Deck are running at higher graphics and frame rates with next to no glitches. I always hear about Windows 11 being a nightmare, but coming from a MacOS user with little windows interaction, it runs fine and has yet to do anything I couldn't at least work around. My favorite and last quip against the Steam Deck is that I can natively download and play all my Game Pass, Epic Games, and EA games with no hassle! I tried Cloud Gaming on Steam Deck, but it cannot compare to playing Halo at +100fps and 2560x1600 graphics with no lag. TO SUMMARIZE - Steam Deck does good work on games already optimized, lasts longer on battery, and can easily plug and play SteamOS games. For a true handheld PC experience that you can play nearly every game, use nearly all gaming platforms, and get a large beautiful screen that feels more engaging, the Legion Go is your choice... But what about the ROG Ally?? Legion Go vs the ROG Ally: They are similar in nearly every way from an OS standpoint with minimal and arguably unnoticeable performance advantages from the ROG Ally (2-4 FPS better, sometimes). Some will argue that the Ally has the advantage of portability (even though you don't get a case with purchase) because of the smaller size, but regardless of size, you will still need to move things around in your bag to fit any expensive gaming device. My point is that these devices are expensive and you certainly do not want to damage them when traveling, so you will not be noticing a difference bringing these devices with you regardless of size. Although there is one major advantage the Legion Go has over the Steam Deck and ROG Ally when traveling -- Detachable Controllers. When you detach the controllers, you now just have an 8.8 screen you could store in a sleeve and the controllers could be stored with a bit less concern of damage. It is also an advantage to have these controllers detach since any controller can break down over time with heavy use, so knowing I could just replace them without the whole device gives me peace of mind. This is unlike the Steam Deck and Ally controls that require either pro shop repairs or a very nerve racking self attempt at tearing down a delicate $700 product to repair an analog stick from drifting. The small size of the Ally actually bothers me now that I have seen an 8.8 inch vs 7 inch screen. Trust me, it's noticeable, and I find it very difficult to read or select things on the Ally in comparison. Is Legion's gaming hub useless (not to be confused with the optimization hub) in comparison to the Ally or Steam Deck? Honestly, yes. I never use it aside from when I downloaded Steam from it, but does anyone really need a hub for games when they are all already on your desktop? Double Tap any game, and you're in. Seems easy enough and kinda shows that a gaming hub is simply unnecessary on a dedicated gaming PC. The optimization hubs are very similar, though the Ally gives more options, however, more options confuse me and I much prefer the simpler optimization options on the Legion Go. Now then, what really drove me over the edge to choose the Legion Go over the ROG Ally when the sale difference made the Ally $150 cheaper than the Go? The micro SD card reader. How there is still no confirmed fix for the Ally's ability to turn your $50-$120 micro SD card into a useless brick from the over heating issue makes me choose the Legion Go without hesitation. Anyone who games knows that games take up a lot of gb storage, and your highest capacity on the Ally is just 512gbs. For perspective, that's just enough room for COD, Halo, GTA and Hogwarts Legacy to run with enough room for big updates. 4 games. So, unless you're the brave type to try to install a larger SSD (not me, I got shakey hands), you need to use that micro SD card!! I cannot trust that the Ally will not fry my SD cards, and I certainly would not be happy to replace one because it's money!! Okay, rant done. SUMMARY - The Ally is ergonomically easier to hold since it's smaller, it runs games very slightly better, and the gaming/optimization hubs are superior. The Legion Go screen size is unmatched, the kickstand is very premium allowing you to comfortably play with it on a table (and the screen size bonus makes it more practical than even the Nintendo Switch), and lastly the Legion Go remains reliable from a hardware standpoint that I do not feel with the Ally. LAST PART I PROMISE: Pros: - Beautiful large 8.8 inch screen with 144hz screen 2560x1600 - Two USB C ports (One on top and one on bottom) - Detachable controls (also replaceable) - Very decent graphic performance for the size - AAA gaming! - The mouse controller is neat, though not used often. - You can just bring the screen with you and use whatever controller you want. - Haptics are much more noticeable than Steam Deck - Downloadable Game Pass games Cons: - Fans are a little loud - A bit blocky to hold and heavy, so prolonged use is not ideal, yet manageable - Playing heavy games drains the battery (I usually play tethered to the charger. It's not as bad though since the top and bottom ports allow comfortable playing) - You will need to dedicate time to optimizing the device when you first get it. - Gaming hub is mostly useless (but tapping games on your desktop is not difficult) Who Wants this?? - Eclectic gamers who always wanted to play AAA PC games - People who want to detach from their monitors or TVs for gaming - Those who aren't afraid to follow an 8 min youtube tutorial on device optimization I love this thing. I finally have a gaming PC, and I can bring it anywhere more easily than a PS5 or Xbox X. If I could only have one gaming device (including consoles), this would be my top choice.

This device is really mind blowing. For something so cmall to be able to handle every single game I have thrown at it from Doom, to CoD MW3, to Helldivers 2, even XDefiant. It has a full blown Win 11 OS so you can even install other things on there like Microsoft Office without any problems. The graphics are amazing also. Heres a tip, reduce the resolution down to 800p when playing games and the Radeon upscaling if available will make the graphics look great and gameplay awesome. You have to use (again if available) the AMD FSR and choose either quality or native. The portability is great. I tried the FPS mode but it was a little awkward to hold the right joycon vertically. I also got a hub with it so I could connect all my other peripherals if I wanted to like a headset, mouse etc. I tried connecting it to an external monitor, but I think by doing so limits it at 60 hz. Either way, it was a much more enjoyable experience on the native screen. I ended up going with this because of the detachable joycons and also because the screen is the biggest among the 3 (ROG Ally and Steamdeck)

Performs well as advertised, but only after significant work applied (going into registry, system config changes). First month with it, I barely gamed…just fixing issues. Now it runs great…but, it’s heavy. I guess that’s fine since you can’t really game (sans wall power) for longer than 1.5hrs anyway. My arms cramp at around 40-45mins. Controllers are fine. I use the Go with controllers detached and I just use other 2.4ghz or bt gamepads. The Truestrikes don’t play well if you take em on and off. The design here seemed idealistic and fell short of pragmatism. Screen is beautiful. IO is sufficient, but plugging things into the bottom usb-c port conflicts with standing the unit on a desk; another design faux pas. Conclusion: you can have fun after you do your work on it. Oh, and $100+ of accessories was necessary for me to really get something out of this..ymmv

Detachable controllers are nice. Bazzite os is installable and working fine. Still has its issues/glitches when using bazzite. Controllers work well on bazzite too. The battery life is suboptimal. Though that can expected with the screen. The screen is absolutely beautiful. Takes a long time to charge. Windows is great on the device while using legion space, but isnt as good as steam os. Cod bo 6, bo3, the sims 4, and minecraft modpacks all run very well. The drvice is very uncomfortable to start with, but you get used to it.

Easy to use! Overall, it's a great product. It can get heavy if you hold it too long, but that's where the stand and removable controllers come into play. Battery life can go quickly depending on your settings, but it's easy to plug-in from either the top port or the bottom. The case is too small for a charger, but overall, I love this system and am super happy I bought it. I hardly use my gaming desktop anymore. Steam games work on it just as they would a desktop game.

This handheld gaming device is pretty awesome with a few tweaks. The screen is big and the build quality is solid. It's not a high-end gaming computer, so don't expect it to be. It'll play most newer games on low settings at 1080 or 720 without any issues. The battery life isn't great, but it's what you'd expect for a device this size doing what it does. There are a lot of buttons on the controllers, and some can get in the way. The screen is pretty decent for a handheld.

This is a great value and so portable for gamers who still use a controller. It has a little bit of trouble with some AAA games, but that trouble is easily fixed with some light tinkering in the performance options, which are also readily accessible on the controller. I have been using the Lenovo legion go for a month now and I have found some pros and some cons, the pros are its incredibly powerful, been able to squeeze high frame rates out AAA titles like need for speed heat, destiny, and even games like Elden ring, Cyberpunk, Ghost of Tsushima and God of War. The main con I can speak on is honestly the battery isn't the best. The battery all I usually only get around 1-2 hours of usage in a game however it isn't too much of a drag, the controls feel good, a tad sharp on the hands but they are rounded corners so they are still quite comfortable, there is a few software kinks but i think that's up to Microsoft to fix, all in all a great product.

Graphics are good but battery life could be better

Quality is great. Most games I use require me to use performance mode and it makes the battery run out rather quickly but if I keep it on the charger I don’t have much issues.

Imagine a gaming PC and a Switch had a baby, that's the Legion Go. Mobility and ease of use of the switch (albeit bulkier than the switch) with the power of a gaming PC. The battery doesn't last terribly long when playing games, but just keep it plugged in and you're good.

I got the Legion Go as a way to replace my ROG Ally because I wanted the bigger screen. I figured it would be similar in performance but I may need to make some adjustments to compensate for the larger screen. But it has been a rougher experience than the Ally. Where on the Ally games would just work, on the Go I have to keep tinkering with settings to get AAA games to work. The hardware and screen are beautiful, and feel really good in your hands. The addition of the touchpad to move the mouse is genius. But as far as gaming, the fans are always running loud and games that would just run need tinkering to get to work well. Examples - Playing Subnautica, on the Ally it worked immediately, running on High graphics. On Go it was stuttering a bit until I set graphics to Medium - Forza Horizon 4 worked well on both, looks great on the Go screen - Doom Eternal was a pain to get working, I was getting "out of video memory" issues on the Go, when it just worked on the Ally at 1080p. Probably need to adjust the video settings properly in the game but I could not get to the screen because of the out of memory error crashing the game. Pros: + Great screen! The size and resolution looks really good + Touchpad for mouse control is a great idea and makes Windows bearable + Feels sturdy in hand. + Built in kickstand is nice. + Detachable controllers are nice when sitting and do not want to hold the device + USB-C ports on the top and bottom is a nice addition. + Comes with a pretty nice carrying case. Cons - Performance issues out of the box when playing games. Don't expect things to "just work" - Fans are noisy. So if you play without headphones just be prepared for that. The fans were running even at idle, when my Ally would be silent at that time. - I had occasional speaker crackling in some games, even at level 20 low volume. - The Lenovo Space app is kinda garbage. Its good enough for adjusting the device controls but its not great. Overall, I love the hardware of the Legion Go but the performance issues were not worth the hassle for me. I'd rather stick with the Ally for now and wait for Go 2. But if you plan to use the device for things in addition to gaming, the Go is definitely the better option

I don’t usually write reviews but I love my legion go having a good dongle to plug it to your tv is awesome for when I’m home battery life ain’t the best but a big 60 watt power pack off Amazon and your good to go the screen quality is excellent I don’t use mine for pc stuff but you definitely could pair a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and do work with it especially if it’s connected to a dongle on the big screen
