The Lenovo Go has some amazing perks such as a competent Z1 Extreme that really hits above the belt on some modern games, the controls feel nice, plenty of customization etc But the console really hurt the device from the low battery life (not a big deal if you don't travel much) the controller rails for the detachable controllers are flimsy in connectivity sometimes, and Windows is straight up a nightmare to maneuver through on the handheld itself. When it works it's great! Just be prepared to deal with some really annoying UI.

Design: Great overall. Using it with the controllers attached, the kickstand really helps offset the weight if you are sitting at a table, but also resting it on your legs works as well. I haven't used it much with controllers detached; seems like it wouldn't be as good. You have to be pretty close to the display anyway to see it. Specs: Overall the specs are decent, but I do wish it had a bit more power for graphics. Display: The display is where this shines. I love how you can easily downscale it anytime you want, in order to improve performance in games. There's a convenient button that opens up a panel on the right side of the screen with numerous options for this. Experience: I would rate the overall experience a B+. Some of the later updates did fix quite a few bugs and issues and it works much better now, but could still be a bit more polished. Performance: This depends on how you configure the settings for each game you play. In order to get great performance in most games, you'll end up needing to scale the resolution down a bit and ensure the device is plugged in. For a handheld, not bad overall.

This is perfect for gamers in the go. I’ve been waiting for a device with a decent screen that allowed me to play more than just Steam games. Pros: 1600p, 144hz, detachable controllers and comes with attachment to make one a mouse, largest screen of all handheld gaming PCs so far, runs on Windows so you can install different game launchers, touchpad for easier navigation in Windows. Cons: When controllers are attached, the large screen makes it awkward to hold, fans get noisy, the processor is good but can’t handle some games even on lower settings (frames drop), best performance requires some tweaking to its hardware setting (done through Legion Space app), it’s still PC gaming so each game may require some tweaking to video settings.

As someone always on the lookout for the next big thing in gaming gear, I was thrilled to get my hands on the Lenovo Legion Go 8.8". Let me tell you, this handheld is a game-changer in every sense of the word. A Display That Takes Your Breath Away From the moment I powered it on, the 8.8-inch WQXGA display blew me away. The 144Hz refresh rate makes every action sequence unbelievably smooth. Whether I’m dodging bullets in a high-octane shooter or exploring vast open worlds, the vibrant colors and sharp resolution make the experience incredibly immersive. It’s like having a mini gaming PC that fits right in my hands! Power That Doesn’t Quit The AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor combined with 16GB of RAM makes this device an absolute powerhouse. I’ve thrown everything at it—AAA games, indie gems, and even some demanding emulators—and it easily handled everything. The performance is so smooth that I almost forgot I was playing on a handheld device. Storage Galore Let’s talk about storage. With a 1TB SSD, I never worry about running out of space. I’ve loaded it up with a massive library of games, and the quick load times mean I spend less time waiting and more time playing. Having that kind of space and speed in such a compact form factor is incredibly freeing. Comfort and Style The design is sleek and ergonomic, making extended gaming sessions surprisingly comfortable. And the Shadow Black finish? It’s not just a color; it’s a statement. It looks fantastic and feels premium, which you want in a high-end gaming device. Portability Redefined One of the things I love most about the Legion Go is its portability. It’s lightweight and fits perfectly in my bag, making it easy to take my gaming wherever I go. Whether on a long commute or just lounging on the couch, I can dive into my favorite games without missing a beat. Final Thoughts The Lenovo Legion Go 8.8" is a stellar addition to any gamer’s collection. It delivers exceptional performance, stunning visuals, and a level of portability that’s hard to beat. If you’re like me and want a powerful gaming experience you can take anywhere, this handheld is worth considering.

Hands down the best piece of Tech I currently own. Before I bought it I was worried it would end up like my steam deck and Switch, collecting dust after a few uses. But man do I use this thing and love it so much more than I expected! It’s amazing! Im primarily a PC gamer, so having access to all of my pc games while sitting in bed is awesome! Screen is gorgeous! The size is of legion go is perfect in my opinion. Joysticks are the best ive felt on any handheld. Kick stand has a long of range. Detachable controllers is awesome. Runs Apex at average 70fps on medium settings 1600p & MW3 at 55-65fps on low settings 1600p. I highly recommend this to anyone thinking of getting one. I have no complaints!

I've owned the Switch, Steam Deck, Rog Ally and this is the best handheld pc you can buy right now for the money. The screen is beautiful, fps modes is a game changer (I played Valorant on hotel wifi and it performed perfectly). Ergonomically it's almost as comfortable as the Steam Deck. The only Con is Lenovo's software (not windows 11). As of this review the software feels halfbaked but can be completely ignored if need be. If you're looking for a handheld pc that can play modern games this is it!

    Exceeds Expectations

A little bit of background. I'm very tech heavy. I do alot of 3D design, video editing, streaming, traveling, and very little gaming. I was looking for a portable device (laptop) that could give me the flexibility I needed in a very compact footprint that could do all of the above tasks while on the road. For this purpose, a few years ago, I purchased a ROG xflow 13 with the external video card for just over $3,000. While it was nice, it was just buggy enough (and expensive enough) that I didn't feel it really suited my purposes. Plus, a REALLY bad experience with ASUS left me LIVID and swearing to never buy their products again. So recently I re-upped my search. Laptops that met my needs ran into the thousands. One day, just on a hunch, I started researching these gaming devices to see if they really had the ability to do what I needed. It needed to be a windows based system (as my software is windows based), which left the steamdeck out. I saw the ASUS device, and immediately decided against it (as aforementioned). This left the Lenovo Legion Go device. I've owned several Lenovo products in the past and I have always been happy with them and impressed with the build quality of the devices. One thing that I really appreciate about Lenovo is that they seem to push the envelope (like ASUS), but do it in a much more controlled way. They don't launch garbage. Sometimes things didn't work out for me (like their haptic touch-pad), but I've always appreciated the attempts to be unique. With that in mind, I wasn't the least bit hesitant to give this Legion go a try. First, let me say, that I'm typing this review on a dual-monitor display powered by the Lenovo Legion Go. The display is quick and sharp. I've played around with different resolutions, and it performs like a champ. I really appreciate Lenovo stepping outside of the norm and trying new things. Their detachable controllers may not be completely unique; but it's a decision they made that works wonderfully for me. When I'm using it as a computer, I detach the controllers and it sits quietly on my desk; powered by the Legion Go. When I want to do a little gaming, I pop them on and it's a whole different device. I love that it boots into the Lenovo gaming environment; which I can override and just launch Windows 11. I've also done some video editing; dramatically faster than my windows laptop, at twice the price. I've done some 3D work; while not as fast as the ROG Xflow for 5x the price, it does admirably well for being a fraction of the cost; in short, it's very workable. I'm actually quite shocked that I'm getting something this capable for under $700. That's pretty amazing. Now to gaming; I'll admit I'm not a big gamer, but that may change, considering I now have this cute little device to travel with. I loaded my good-old Skyrim enhanced version and it ran it without a hiccup. I then loaded Red Dead Redepmtion 2. No problems. I even loaded StarField. The system recommended Low quality settings, but I opted for Medium instead. I traveled to the cities where I was told the highest CPU and Graphics load would exist, and this baby did just great on medium. It gets a little warm; but nothing like the scorching 3rd-degree burn heat of the ROG. As far as battery power, this last about 2 hours of play time on one charge. It lasts much longer when using it as a basic tablet. I'm only a week into using this device, but I already believe it has exceeded my expectations and I'm excited to continue to use it. Good job Lenovo. I'm really digging your new device. Keep innovating!

Took me a couple days to really tinker everything and get everything running. I love the screen on this machine. I would recommend if you don’t want to spend on the newer handhelds. Even thought I went for the new Xbox one I would still highly recommend this once you tinker everything update drives and all that it’s a beast. I will say the d pad is not my favorite and battery would be more like a stay home device for me.

Got this handheld as a early birthday gift and can say I love it! It plays everything fairly well but heavier games it def struggles. The controllers are amazing but i suggest when you are gaming to disable the trackpad as it is super easy to accidently tap it which can mess you up in certain games. The fact it comes with a nice case is a huge plus in my book since the other handhelds are higher prices dont even do that

(Note: If I could give a half-star, I would have rated the Legion Go as 4.5. More on that in a bit!) I had a Steam Deck LCD and was looking to upgrade my device. I considered the Steam Deck OLED but chose to go with the Legion Go due to its larger display. I bought my Legion Go "open box" from Best Buy. I received it in excellent condition. The first thing one notices is, of course, the display. It is big, bright and beautiful, offering about 40% more screen real estate than a Steam Deck or ROG Ally. This display is one of the top selling points for the Legion Go. The larger display does make for a larger and heavier device, but the weight differential compared to a Steam deck is not significant (to me). The controllers offer plenty of buttons and other controls to make playing a variety of games easier. The Hall effect joysticks are appreciated! Only the right controller has a trackpad, and it is so-so. The ones on the Deck are better. I find that it is too easy to accidentally press the buttons on the lower back end of the right controller when holding the Go. Not a big deal, but a minor nuisance. One weakness of the Go is audio quality. The speakers are not great. You can fine tune the sound with the Realtek app, which helps somewhat. You can also use headphones. Windows is both an asset and a challenge for the Go. Using Windows as the OS allows Lenovo to market this device as not only for gaming but also for work and study. However, Windows could stand more optimizing for gaming purposes. Integer scaling, for example, could be added as a feature. It might make sense for Lenovo to offer two versions of the Go: this version and a Pro version that is optimized for serious gaming. I have both Windows and Bazzite installed (dual-boot) on my Go. The Pro Go could have Bazzite or a seriously customized version of Windows. The Legion Go works best when you've done some tweaking to it. But the time spent tweaking it pays off. I would definitely recommend the Go to anyone willing to tweak various settings to get the best possible results. Give the Go better speakers and a truly gaming-optimized OS, and it would be truly awesome!!

The Legion go is an amazing handheld PC. For me the handheld is a little bit too big to fit comfortably in my hands. I did notice my hands were fatigued after a short time of gameplay. I eventually traded this for the ROG ally which I think is better because of the economics and huge weight difference. The legion goes screen is amazing. I think an 8 inch screen would’ve been perfect versus the 8.8 inch screen. The mouse feature is cool, but it’s a little bit gimmicky. I really couldn’t play well with it at the end of the day. It’s just personal preference this handheld is great it just wasn’t for me.

It's a great device overall, especially if you want to play indie games or old remasters. It does struggle with newer games, so if you want to play those then I would recommend getting a gaming laptop or PC instead. The display is nice and the kickstand is a nice addition. The biggest issue is the battery life. Even at lower graphics settings it's not great. The ergonomics are also not the best but if you use the kickstand and an external controller this is not really an issue. The only other con is it can take a little bit of tinkering to get some games running well, but it's usually not to bad, and there are a lot of guides online nowadays. That being said, you won't have a console like experience with this device. Despite the flaws, I would recommend the legion go if you can afford it

Great device, screen is incredible, love the removable controllers and FPS mode is a lot cooler/better then I expected it to be. I’m playing Cyberpunk 2077 / Dying Light 2 / High on Life with medium to high settings using various upscaling tech (integer scaling and FRS). I have an LCD SteamDeck and haven’t touched it since I bought this. It has windows onto it so if you’ve never used windows on a handheld device there is a learning curve but this Microsoft’s faults and not Lenevos. Lenevos software needs some work and would give it 5 stars if it was better. It’s okay and they are updating it frequently, but it still needs some work.

This is very close to being a 5 star rating, but based on a few minor issues, this is a 4 star. Screen: This screen is BEAUTIFUL. Best handheld screen I've used. It's crisp, perfect dimensions, and the ability to change from 1080p, 1200p, and 1440p is great. Refresh rate of up to 144hz is perfect for lighter games and general windows browsing as well. Love it. Comfort: This is pretty beefy and does cause some fatigue when holding for too long. However, the kickstand helps tremendously in this regard. I'd normally have it propped up on my lap with the kickstand to give it a little support. The controller feel is great, holds well comfortably, and the button layout was easy to adjust to. The weight and size is the only downfall, otherwise it's perfect. Controls: The touch pad is great for browsing windows, using a game manager, and things of this nature. But in-game, it doesn't have a good use-case. Great novelty to have but not 100% necessary. Controllers are great, feel sturdy, but do have a little wobble due to the rail mechanisms holding them to the screen. Never used them disconnected like a switch, just wasn't comfortable enough. Buttons all feel good, have good actuation, and not cheap feeling at all. Performance: This is where it gets tricky. The ability to customize the screen size and refresh rate is amazing. However, not all games would run at all, or run well. Lots of games worked, especially if you're looking at indie games, AA games, or smaller releases. But AAA titles need tweaking to run well. And some games just won't launch at all, or will crash shortly after. Due to this, it hampered my ability to play games I would have liked to play on this. Buyer beware, you may not have 100% success playing games. Overall, this thing is great for many of my use cases, playing casually or on the go, PERFECT travel companion (no issues going through airport TSA or flight), and held up well. As long as you go in understanding it won't be perfect or play all games, you'll have an amazing time with an almost perfect device.

The Legion Go offers a compelling blend of performance and portability for gamers on the move. Its robust build quality and exceptional battery life stand out, providing hours of gaming without the need for constant recharging. The device's vibrant display and responsive controls enhance the gaming experience, delivering immersive visuals and precise input. However, its relatively high price and occasional overheating during extended sessions prevent a perfect score. Overall, I awarded the Legion Go 4 stars for its impressive capabilities, marred slightly by its few drawbacks.

    Better than a Steam Deck

I love this device! I have a Steam Deck which is great and all but its very limited and I did not like Linux so I decided to go for something more powerful. I haven't touch my Steam Deck since i got this. Everything has been running smooth with little to no limitations and the screen is huge! Removing the joycons from the device is a huge plus. Only thing is i wish the battery life was better but its not too much of a bother right now.
