After spending some time with the Lenovo Legion Go, I've gathered quite a few impressions about this device, both good and bad. Here's my take on it:
Pros:
---------------
Display Quality: The display is truly amazing. It's one of the best I've seen on a handheld device, offering crisp and vibrant visuals that enhance my gaming experience.
Cooling and SSD Upgradeability: I appreciate the efficient cooling system in the Legion Go. It keeps the device cool even during extended gaming sessions. Plus, the ease of upgrading the SSD is a big plus for me.
Battery Life and Ergonomics: The battery life is decent, especially when playing more demanding games. In terms of ergonomics, the device feels comfortable in my hands, though it took a bit of getting used to.
Cons:
---------------
Comfort and Design Issues: I've noticed that the bottom edges can be a bit uncomfortable, especially if I'm holding the device tightly for a long time. Also, the placement of the start/pause button is quite frustrating – it's not where I'd intuitively expect it to be.
Controller Quality and Layout: The detachable controllers feel somewhat cheap to me, lacking the solid feel I prefer. The layout of the back buttons and scroll wheel is also not ideal, causing some strain on my wrist during prolonged use.
Software and Interface Shortcomings: The Legion Space software definitely needs more work. It feels half-baked and makes navigating settings more cumbersome than it should be.
Fan Noise and Lack of VRR: The fan noise is noticeable and can be distracting in quieter environments. The absence of Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is a significant downside, particularly given the quality of the screen.
The Jury is Still Out
---------------
FPS Mode: The FPS mode is a bit of a mixed bag for me. It's an interesting feature, but it feels overly complicated and somewhat gimmicky.
Speakers and Sound Quality: The sound quality from the speakers isn't as good as I expected. It's adequate, but not impressive.
Value for Money: Considering the features and performance, I think the Legion Go offers decent value. However, the combination of hardware and software issues makes me question its overall worth.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Lenovo Legion Go is a device with a lot of potentials. The display and build quality are its strongest points, but the comfort, controller quality, and software experience leave room for improvement. The lack of VRR and the noticeable fan noise are also drawbacks that I hope will be addressed in future iterations. While I see a lot of promise in this device, I believe it might not be the perfect fit for everyone, especially those who are particular about ergonomics and software efficiency.

Lenovo Legion GO - REVIEW

This really is an amazing product. It has great quality and resistance.
I am a video game collector and I can say with confidence about the product.
I also have the Steam Deck and the Rog Ally and compared to these the Lenovo Legion Go has the best screen. The screen size is excellent for a good gameplay experience.
In terms of performance, it is superior to Steam Deck, but the Windows operating system has some problems that leave something to be desired. I believe that if Windows were prepared directly for a portable video game it would be better optimized.
In terms of performance compared to Rog Ally, they are identical!
I didn't particularly like the Legion Space system, I had several problems with it and had to reinstall it a few times to resolve them. I even had a problem where some buttons stopped working in legion space and only reinstalling this was resolved. This point I believe Lenovo needs to improve.
About the battery, like other portable consoles, it doesn't last long in triple AAA games. But the experience is still good.
Ah, the console's ventilation is also good, only getting a little hot at times.
Overall it's an excellent console, worth the purchase.

The Lenovo Legion Go is absolutely gorgeous and the most impressive price of gaming tech I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot! It's comfy to hold, the screen is massive and gorgeous and it runs AAA games like a boss! I was absolutely in love with my Steam Deck for well over a year, but kept getting frustrated by the lack of have it could play (esp online PvP games) and play well. The Legion Go not only plays every game you can play on a full sized gaming PC, but also runs then beautifully. Plus it does everything a PC can do. I sold my Steam Deck to upgrade to the Legion Go and couldn't be happier with my decision. If you're a true PC gamer and want to take your games on the road or to the couch or bed without sacrificing fidelity the a Legion Go will not disappoint!

All I can say is wow!
Screen - large screen, HD resolution and 144hz refresh rate makes this device great!
Touch - very smooth and easy to navigate using either the screen or touchpad
Controllers - They offer options to go handheld while your device is charging or docked or with the system if you're on the go. FPS mode is a nice feature made for shooting games.
Software - needs improvement but fix coming along nicely - I mean it's a Windows OS even gaming PCs need software fixes.
Overall great device that offers high quality gaming experience that doubles as a PC entertainment/productivity on the go.

Really a step in the right direction with everything it has going for it. Screen is the best part and everything else like the 2 USB C ports and the detachable controllers makes the experience even more enjoyable. Software still needs work but i know in the next few months it'll be way better. Really hope to see a second Legion Go in the future because this is the kind of handheld device I've always wanted.

I know, I know...I'm a bit late to the party, but wow, the Legion Go is still one of the best handheld gaming devices out there to date, even in 2025. Lenovo has truly kept the experience alive and thriving. Legion Space has seen major improvements over the time and the consistent updates have proven that Lenovo listens to its players, keeping us locked in and ready to play the hottest triple a titles and new releases alike.
The detachable controllers with FPS mode were ahead of their time, so much so that I believe its what inspired a feature seen in the Switch 2 today having the Switch 2 using the right side joycon as a mouse which is a definite game changer. Pair the Go with the Legion glasses, a quality headset, and you're basically holding a full console experience in your hands.
Not into handheld gaming? No problem. Since it runs on Windows, you can dock it for a full desktop experience. How do you like those apples? wubba lubba dub dub!
All in all, this was a highly anticipated release, and for good reason. Millions ordered it on day one and it's still a top tier device today. I still use it in most of all my Youtube content. Thanks for reading and I hole you the reader has a great day.

So, I never actually got mine from here, my delivery never showed up but I went and got another locally. Love this device, the display is beautiful, it games impressively well for an iGPU system really the only downside is battery life which isnt even 90 minutes in performance mode, still under 2 hours even in balanced. But it serves as a great replacement for my legion 7 pro 16” laptop when on the go! With the help of an nvme enclosure with a 2tb ssd and a 1.5tb sd card, i have 4tb total storage on this thing and its so great.

Outstanding screen: sharp, bright QHD+ with 144 Hz.
• Strong performance: Ryzen Z1 Extreme handles demanding games well.
• Versatile design: comfy detachable controllers, touchpad, and edge triggers.
• Upgradeable storage: microSD support and PCIe SSD expandability.
The Lenovo Legion Go is by far the most powerful and visually stunning handheld on the market today. This pc handheld is 8 inches and is a big beautiful site for sore eyes. I like this pc more then my built custom pc job. Imthe battery is not that good only last almost about 2hrs but dont let the battery life discourage you of getting it becase of the fact it is the biggest handheld out there bigger then the ally rog7 and the steam deck even the msi claw. And one more thing they always go on sale every month i got mine for only $499 it a must have unless it to much power for you.

I purchased the Legion Go to replace my Steam Deck LCD. The initial set uo of the Legion is a bit tedious however, once it's set up it's much better than the Deck. As someone who is not terrible tech savy, I watched a few youtube videos on tips and tricks and got the Legion up and running within a little over an hour. The removable controllers are a plus, and feel more weighty than the Switch Joycons. Overall I would recommend the Legion over other handhelds all day.

Good system! Runs games decently well on lower settings, and being able to detach the controllers is a game changer for people like me who like to play in tabletop mode like a Switch. Only downsides I have found are that the battery life is pretty lacking in performance mode (About 1.5 hours if I'm lucky), and that it's very bulky compared to a Switch (but that just takes some getting used to, in my opinion)
Definitely the best handheld out there for my personal uses though!
In my opinion, probably best to wait for a sale, but even at full price its a pretty solid product

From the big screen to it controls I love it, the speakers sound a little weird but is because their output is a the top. So far I'm loving the device and what it can do and it will get better with updates. I would say try to get the 1tb version for more space for 50$ is worth it.

Sold my original Ally X Extreme to get this. It's ok since to recent updates but a few things might have me return it. The speakers SUCKS, Straight out the box the left speaker is cracking at like 39% vol. The side and weight is a little too much. I want something like the Ayaneo 2S. And I want 16gig memory.

We are glad to read that the Legion Go performs great for you. If you'd like to improve battery life, depending on the demand of the game you're playing, by pressing the Legion R button to launch the quick menu, you can switch to lower power mode to save battery. In the menu, under the performance tab, users can toggle thermal modes and prioritize battery life by using the default mode or creating a custom thermal mode should you not be satisfied with the 3 presets. These adjustments can also be made by going into Legion Space > Settings (Legion Space can be launched quickly by pressing the Legion L button (Legion Logo above the button).

Played Mw3 while at the airport while using free wifi..how do you still lose? Come on now. But besides that this thing is crazy I rarely run into crashes while playing cod but I do experience little lag spikes here and there but not a super inconvenience for my gameplay. I mainly use this while my girlfriend is playing on my pc so this thing is such a clutch.

I absolutely love this thing if the title didn't give it away. It wasnt an easy decision to sell my steam deck but the extra performance via the z1 extreme chip convinced me. However, I couldnt have anticipated how much of an upgrade I was truly getting. The 1600p 144hz 8.8 inch display is an absolute game changer. The level of immersion is unreal. But aside from all that the thing that really sells this device in my opinion is the incredible support provided by Lenovo thus far. The legion Go has been out less than 2 months and the update cadence has been unmatched by competing product manufacturers. Ben Myers (lenovo community manager) has provided weekly road map updates on the community forums and sub reddit detaling changes in the software which are largely based on community feedback to begin with. Long story short if you're looking for a windows based pc handheld this thing is unmatched in this writer's opinion.
