The Best Gaming Handheld To Date!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best gaming handheld that is on the market in the US. The 1600p screen is magnificent. Detachable controllers let you turn this into a ultra portable gaming tablet. Plus this thing can play any game you throw at it with ease. Old school emulation on this is crazy awesome. The only problem I'm having is Lenovo hasn't released the ability to use the controllers to the fullest. You can't map buttons easily and some buttons refuse to show up at all. And if you are use to dedicate Steam and Xbox buttons good luck. I still have figured out how to use those without just tapping on the touch screen. I have a Steam Deck and a ROG Ally and this is the one to rule the all and after some software updates and controller tweaks...nothing will stand in its way!

Decent hardware, deplorable software.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's start out with the positives, and I will be comparing this device to the ROG Ally and Steam Deck as I have owned all 3 (sadly returned the ally to a 2nd sd card reader failure). I will start with the more obvious differences first. I really love the larger 8.8 inch display. It's great for reading text in games and UI elements. Colors and contrast are way better than a Steam Deck, and are on par with the Ally. FPS mode is actually great. It does take a few hours to get used to where all the commonly used buttons (interact and croutch) are, but slowly muscle memory will take over. The kickstand is very high quality and will firmly hold the GO at any angle it is capable of. The controllers attach and detach easily with less movement required than a switch (it takes a few tries to get the hang of it) and don't cause any error in game if you attach/remove during a game. Includes a high quality case just like the Steam Deck (Ally shade here) Performance is on par with the Ally (better at higher wattage than the Steam Deck). Makes sense as it uses the same Z1 Extreme chip. The faster 7500 MT/s ram doesn't seem to add any additional performance from what I've seen. 1-2 fps here and there isn't noticeable to me. Analog sticks are hall effect and will not drift over time. Something that can't be added at all to the Ally, and are a DIY project for the Steam Deck. The SD card slot doesn't seem to get as hot as the Ally, but after running Cinebench for 30 minutes it did feel warm when removed. Trackpad is nice, but Steam Deck has better pads/functionality. Now the negatives. The software is an absolute disaster. Steam OS is the king and even Armory Crate is MILES ahead of Legion Space. Legion space takes forever to launch on boot. You have to keep seeing the same splash screen, loading screen, and boot animation every time you turn it on. Yes, you can disable it but then you have no quick settings menu, etc until you start the Legion software. Additionally, Legion Space is full of bloat. No one wants your store, your "recommended" screen (which is just ads for games on your crappy store), the "Cloud Game" and the "Android Game" buttons just redirect you to install things from the windows store like the Amazon Appstore or open pages into a built in web browser. WHY?!?!? Maybe this is why it takes so long to load up? Is this delay to load all the bloat? REMOVE IT, LENOVO. Legion Space won't close most of my games when attempting to do so from the Legion Space software and for those games the only way to leave the game if there isn't a menu to do so is to restart the GO. Steam Deck can close any running game at any time by pressing the Steam button. Asus saw that a "close program or alt+f4" was needed so they added it to the quick buttons. The GO needs this also. When opening up the Legion Quick Settings or menu while a game is running controller input is sent to the game and the settings menu. This is bad. Both Steam Deck and Armoury Crate disable the controller input to the rest of the system when the settings menus are open. Legion Space also throws an error at every shutdown for me. Controller buttons can be customized, but in controller mode it can only be customized to controller buttons ONLY. It would be great to be able to customize the back buttons to function keys or macros. Seriously most controllers in windows will allow macro programming and this just doesn't have that (yet?). I don't have a need for a 2nd A button. Or a 2nd R1. Give us macros, Lenovo! Button placement is also odd/bad. Start/select can't easily be reached. Why are the legion buttons where start/select are? To accommodate FPS mode? Why can't those buttons be start/select when in controller mode and automatically change when in FPS mode? Gyro can't be assigned to mouse, must be right stick or left stick. Dpad is very shallow and makes for a poor experience playing SF6 and other fighting games. VRAM can't be adjusted in software like in Armoury Crate and can currently only be set to 3, 4, and 8GB. It requires a boot to bios and the bios. Controller input isn't supported in BIOS for some reason, you have to poke at the screen to make changes. Steam Deck bios can use controller input and the Ally doesn't even really ever need to boot to bios, everything you would want to adjust can be done so in Armoury Crate. The SSD is far away from the fan and gets zero airflow and will thermal throttle when installing games. No fingerprint scanner/windows hello for faster sign in. No way to 'right click' at all in controller mode. Tap and hold doesn't work on most things to get a right click and the trackpad doesn't support two finger tap for right click. I wish there was a way to add right click to a back button or something when in Windows. Native portrait display (looking at Sergey? from the Lenovo forums here) after telling customers that it would be native landscape. This causes issues with many games not filling the screen (such as Final Fantasy X from steam). Also no VRR/Freesync support. Difficult to open and access internals first time opening (clips are stiff). SSD is a pain to peel the rf blocking wrap off of. Thermal paste replacement will also be a chore (long term maintenance). Release driver is from July. Promises from Lenovo for new drivers soon. This means as of now, no Starfield. Speakers are quiet, but can be EQ'd to sound way better in the Realtek software. Slow charging when in use, even when using a 100w power brick. So here we are again. Another overly hyped handheld that as with the Steam Deck (took about a year) Ally (still a work in progress) needs more time to bake (and then reheated again). I can't really recommend it in it's current form.

Legion Go Review
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the legion go because I wanted and Ipad and wanted to try handheld gaming. I'm not disappointed at all as the screen is great and it has great performance in games Cons: Fan noise could be loud but there is a workaround if you change configuration settings to lower fan speeds further. 4/5 Stars

Software can't fix everything
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some background: - I pre-ordered a Steam Deck in Batch 1 - I pre-ordered the Ally - I pre-ordered this Between the 3, the Lenovo hands-down has the coolest, most nice-to-look-at hardware (i.e. the screen size, the screen clarity, the detachable controllers, etc.). *THAT BEING SAID*, it is also the *least* geared towards gaming EXCLUSIVELY, ironically. Out of the box, VRAM is set to use 3 GB. You can change this up to 4 or 8, by going into the BIOS - something the Ally lets you do from the ASUS software, and with more median options (EX. 6 GB). Most games will require you to go to 4 to get performance similar to the Ally. When plugged in and operating at Turbo, the Legion Go beats a plugged in Ally by anywhere from 10-20 FPS on optimal settings for most AAA titles; unplugged, however (which is kind of the point of using it as you travel/go mobile), the tables flip and the Ally outperforms the Legion Go considerably. Now, you can look past most of this as nitpicking but the nail in the coffin that resulted in my immediate boxing up and taking this back to the store? The speakers. Between the 3 handhelds, the Legion Go has the uncontested WORST speakers. At max volume, Spider-Man Remastered sounded like I had an old, monotone Sony slide-up phone on speaker, at best. If you intend to play with no volume or headphones, and are willing to wait for software patches to optimize performance and stop the virtual keyboard from popping up on random game menus, then definitely keep this. Otherwise, go with the much lighter, now good-to-go Ally.

It is the exact thing i needed.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Legion bro to the end. Yes it could use a better battery and more ram, lighter, vrr, oled, ergonomics etc but really it is quite perfect the way it is. In fact this is the smallest of its kind because you can remove the controllers and carry the screen alone. If you need a palm size screen in your car or during your travels that does it all this is a great device. Prefer my own controller anyway that i use for everything, and the included one is no slouch either with fps mode, tons of buttons, wheel, touchpad and customizations. i find it best used seated in a car mount and used with external controller and battery pack. If you are handhelding it you better be a bigger guy or wear a mount, its kinda bulky. A keyboard/battery/cooling shell case would be epic seen them on ebay but uneasy to get it here in the US.

Excellent New Portable Gaming Device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the 8 inch screen. The colors look amazing and the image looks crisp clear when at full resolution. Even dropping it to 800p produces a great picture with AMD RSR enabled. The weight is a bit on the heavy side when used in handheld mode, but it doesnt bother me much unless my session lasts over 1.5 hours. FPS mode is neat but I’ve only used it once so I need to test it out some more. The addition of a trackpad on the right controller makes navigating windows a whole lot easier. The performance is about the same level as an ROG Ally. The software still needs more time to mature but I’m confident furure updates will bring out its full potential.

A great little hand held Gaming PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have use this for the last year, It is a fantastic hand held gaming PC. It works great Here are some pros and Cons Pros: It's CPU is fast The iGPU is fairly powerful in fact at the time it was the most powerful. Its easy to upgrade the Storage on this. IT has a built in mouse and touch pad. Screen Is a touch screen. Cons It only has 16gb of Ram and that is shared with the iGPU it would have been nice if it has say 24 GB or better yet 32GB of ram. The screen is nice, but it isn't an OLED. It still looks good though. Overall This is a great device even today if you can get it for around 500-600 bucks.

Good Handheld
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The legion go is a very good console in the Handheld Pc Space. The detachable side controls are very hand with used in a switch like configuration. The screen is beautiful. You will have to play with settings on your games to get them to run stable fps, but that’s to be expected in a handheld format. Overall, the biggest negative factor is battery life. Having a charging bank or a 10ft 100W charger to get the most out of your performance and playtime is an expectation. But, that’s the dame for all of its competitors in the space.

Amazing machine.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a tough call between the Ally and the Go. I am so happy I went with the Go now over the Ally, especially when they are at the same price point right now. $699 will get you the system with 1TB of storage and a travel case. Everything about the Go is better than the Ally with the exception of the speakers and (this maybe subjective) the display. The Ally does 1080p native which the Go is 1600p native. The screen is, in fact, MUCH better than the Allys, but a bit of overkill for the hardware, which can seem to make a Ally a smoother experience. At the end of the day, the Legion Go > ROG Ally. Thanks all!

Use it almost every day
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this. Keep your expectations in check from a performance in triple a games stand point. But for example I can get a locked 60fps in GOW Ragnarok at 1600p (pre FSR). Settings have to be low, but on a small screen it still looks very good. Have loved it during air travel, in the car, and using when playing on the couch.

Simply phenomenal
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lenovo Legion Go is a great handheld. So far I've been playing Black Ops 3 custom zombies, Forza Horizon 5, Subnautica, Java and Bedrock Minecraft, and Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2. All of them have been running at 60fps on at least medium settings with the exception of red dead 2 which gives me 40 to 50. The screen is excellent. It's 2560x1600. The same exact screen they use on the y700. Windows on a touch screen isn't as bad as I remember it being either. Having the touch keyboard be aware of when I enter a text input field is a huge thing which makes this more usable than the steam deck. This device makes me feel like I'm living in the future. The fact that I can play PC games on the go with this level of quality is almost hard to believe. My only complaints are that it's not the most comfortable thing in the world to hold. The controllers have sharp edges on them which dig into your hands. I also wish that there was a second SSD slot so that you didn't have to clone your drive over if you want to upgrade.

Great device for portable pc gaming/streaming
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance is amazing at 25-30w tdp for demanding games. If you're looking for a windows based handheld, you need the bigger screen. Feels better built than rog ally too for the same money more or less depending on sales. Still could use more updates/optimization. Includes case/kickstand/joy con like controllers. All worth considering. Battery life isn't great for these devices so don't expect it if you are used to switch or smartphone battery life.

Design and Build Quality: The Legion Go boasts a sleek and minimalistic design that appeals to my taste. The build quality is robust, giving off a durable feel. The laptop’s aesthetic is a perfect balance between modern gaming flair and a professional look. Display: Gaming visuals on the Legion Go are a treat for the eyes. The high refresh rate and vibrant colors make every gaming session immersive. Whether I’m engaged in fast-paced action or exploring detailed environments, the display delivers a visually satisfying experience. Performance: Lenovo has packed a punch with the Legion Go’s performance. The combination of a powerful processor and a capable graphics card ensures that demanding games run smoothly. Multi-tasking is a breeze, and the laptop handles resource-intensive applications with ease. Cooling System: The Legion Go’s cooling system is commendable. The dual-fan setup effectively dissipates heat, maintaining a consistent temperature even during extended gaming sessions. This attention to cooling contributes to the laptop’s overall performance stability. Keyboard and Trackpad: The keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience with well-spaced keys. The RGB lighting customization is a nice touch, allowing me to personalize my gaming setup. The trackpad is responsive, though I prefer using a dedicated mouse for gaming. Battery Life: Considering its gaming prowess, the Legion Go offers decent battery life. It provides enough juice for productivity tasks on the go, but for optimal gaming performance, plugging in is the way to go. Audio Quality: The Legion Go’s audio system delivers crisp and clear sound. The speakers are surprisingly robust, providing an immersive audio experience. The console has the capacity to emulate majority of games with wonderful FPS. The weight and form is perfect for you to spend hours and hours on it without feeling tired. Honestly I can say without any doubt that it could replace my Xbox or ps5 including my gaming laptop at most. I can do homework’s , pay bills and even watch my favorite shows. Great Machine!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a decently powerful PC with removable controllers like a switch. Bes gaming handheld in my opinion
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the fact you can take the controllers off and use one of them as a mouse also the quality of everything is well made and you think it would be really heavy but i have no problem holding it up for hours the touch pad is also a plus its unique i would say the downsides are the battery life and the glitches you have from time to time

Makes promises and delivers
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm giving it five stars but I'll be upfront and say that the Legion Go isn't perfect. The Legion Space software feels dated and doesn't offer the same level of functionality in comparison to its peers. The dead zones on the analog sticks need to be tweaked (something Lenovo is working on and may have already finished by the time you read this). And while accidentally hitting the M1 or M2 button during a game is mildly annoying, they're also not mapped to anything in handheld mode so it never affects game play. But other than that, you really are getting what you paid for! I've been using the Go for a weeks and I've yet to come across an actual deal breaker. Admittedly, I dropped the resolution to 1920 x 1200 because the default is overkill given the screen size. Otherwise, I just set performance to "balance" and I just play games. It's simple, it's straightforward, and it plays what I want with higher resolutions and at a better frame rate than some of its competitors. The detachable controllers function as advertised. The screen is bright, large, and gorgeous. The buttons have a great, tactile feel, and the trackpad is actually useful for navigation. It's comfortable to hold - but heavy - as you know. And while the speakers are meh, I would have recommended headphones regardless. I can't account for everyone's preferences. Some people might find it too big, too heavy, too Windows-y, for their liking. But if these features have you intrigued, then I say with confidence that they work. And a bonus point because I typed out this review with the Go attached to a second monitor.

10/10 Would be the Legion Go 2 in a heartbeat
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.10/10 I absolutely love this. One of if not my best purchase, If you wanna play your PC games on the go this is perfect don't get me wrong, the battery life is pretty bad but you can plug and play it, or even dock it and use the detachable controllers separately. (I am still yet to find out how much battery they have, but it'll last you at least a day)
