Over all its a decent handheld. Plays AAA games well, but they absolutely destroy its battery life. Which really is its biggest flaw, playing even older AAA games eat battery even while plugged in. Over all though I am happy with the ourchase. Honestly probably the best handheld I could get for under $1000 USD.

Amazing. Picked this up on BB Black Friday seal for $649 before tax. It’s a steal for what you get. I can run all my games smoothly. Handles ghost of Tsushima at mostly high and max settings at 65-75fps average. The screen is bright and looks really good in all games. Highly recommend this handheld.

I absolutely love my Lenovo Legion Go S Z1E SteamOS. I can play my huge Steam backlog now. Very comfortable ergonomics, the best yet. Vibrant display & great controls. I prefer SteamOS over Windows due to bloat & performance. Makes this the perfect handheld in my opinion.

This great for on the go and casual gaming at home. The screen looks great and runs some indie games better than a console can. SteamOS makes it feel like a handheld more than a PC but it still allows PC customization. The Black Friday Sale made the price perfect

I was debating on getting this or the one with detachable controllers and chose this one. Didn’t really have the need for the detachable controllers and I like the way this one felt in my hands better. It was a little confusing first starting off but one started it’s amazing. Graphics are smooth and steam is easily accessible. If trying to decide between the two, I would say this is like the getting the lite version of the switch. Highly recommended.

I originally purchased the Z2go edition with 512gb ssd, and 16gb and found it was severely lacking in performance for what i wanted. Returned it i purchased this one and ive been extremely happy with the upgrade. Its handled everything i thrown at it very well. My only complaint is battery life when playing demanding title. Other than that 9/10 solid handheld pc.

This is the current best SteamOS device by far, the screen is excellent, the size is manageable, and the power of the Z1E is incredible without windows holding it back. All that said battery life is lackluster at best bad at worst and Lenovo makes a lot of poor design choices with their devices. Going into sleep mode leaves the power button flashing infinitely. You have to take off buttons and find hidden screws to change the storage or unplug certain elements to reach others. And it’s sooooo expensive. It’s a solid device that just has a ton of small issues that can really add up into big problems for some

This console is the much needed boost for the Steam Deck. I really like the performance and the size of the screen, looks gorgeous. Controls are also nice, high quality. The plastic of the case and the finish feel cheap. But the console is well built, is just how it feels in the hands. The only two downsides? 1. The speakers... The literally just suck. Not sure if there will be some sort of algorithm to make them better or is just the quality of them. Compared to Ally X or MSI Claw 8, this has nothing to do in front of them. 2. It feels kind of late in the game...What I mean is that the Z2 Extreme Xbox Ally and for sure more models as well are about to launch late this year. Reason why this will fill the gap just for a few months, then, off to buy the newest toy.

Got this because I wanted an alternative to laptop/pc gaming and it’s honestly a beast- great performance speeds, graphics are very good, and it doesn’t overheat. The battery is decent, I get prob 2 hours on a high performance game before needing to charge, but recharges fast. Overall I recommend.

Legion GO Steam Z1 EX vs others

Good little machine and is very comparable to the Rog Ally X in power but due to the fact it is a Steam OS it priorities games alot better but dont get me wrong there are good and bad between the two one is power consumption, but I mainly play them connected to the power source. If you like to play windows games and more outside the steam OS then I would recommend the ROG Ally X but if you are looking for it wait until Oct. as the new model with Xbox is coming out and I suspect sales will be happing but ether path I always say do your research as both won't play everything but I would take this Legion Go and the Rog Ally X over MSI machines (steam deck is also a choice but comparing to new machines) due to setup of software and control schemes defaults on games as MSI Claw 7 AI + (I had but gave it up) is very powerful but the software and extensive lag in response with bringing up the settings bar for configuration was a pain. I play manly Indi titles not triple AAA games on any of these as I want the TV or computer monitor with decent settings, but I am aware I could, but decisions are personal. Also The steam OS on this is very nice as when you look at games on steam if it shows the blue mark then this will play it and so fare the game that has been a challenge at this time (though limited) is playing Victora 3 on this. Also I have both the Z1 Extreme and the Z2 Go edition (Z2 go edition I got a few months ago and was the only one available) Z2 go saves on power but at a cost of a down grade of the detail settings on games and yes the 16 gb and 32 gb does provide the extra difference as well but if reference to the Asus Rog ally x with the 24 that is still my primary system for many games outside the steam area.

Specs alone don’t do this device justice, it actually is a huge leap from all the other handheld PC devices I owned and tried to get working properly be it performance-wise, ergonomics, or annoyances like fan noise, this device truly has everything I was looking for in a gaming PC handheld. I sold all of my past devices long ago and am selling now off my Steam Deck immediately since getting the new Legion Go S with Steam OS. Well done Lenovo!

Been wanting to find a portable platform to play steam games on the go for a while now. Was between this item, Asus Rog, and Steam Deck. I have been very happy with this platform, running most of my steam library on medium graphics settings, some games run maxed out. The battery life depends on the game your playing with most of the time I can play about 6-7 1/2 hours before having to get on the charger. The screen resolution is very sharp with the ergonomic profile fitting great in hands. If you are between this and steam deck, I would choose this option for convenience, ergonomics, and display size.

    Perfect for my Wife

I picked up the Legion Go S specifically so my wife could play Hogwarts Legacy on the go, and it has absolutely delivered. Performance has been excellent. Hogwarts Legacy runs smoothly and looks great for a handheld, with stable frame rates and quick load times. It’s powerful enough that she isn’t feeling like she’s playing a watered down version of the game, which was the biggest concern going in. The display really elevates the experience. The screen is bright, sharp, and vibrant, which matters a lot in a game like Hogwarts Legacy where the environments, lighting, and spell effects are a huge part of the immersion. Everything from the castle interiors to outdoor areas looks fantastic. Comfort and ergonomics are another big plus. It’s comfortable to hold for longer sessions, the controls feel natural, and it doesn’t feel awkward or heavy in use. That made a big difference since this wasn’t for a hardcore PC gamer, but someone who just wants to pick it up and play. Battery life is solid for real world use. Obviously Hogwarts Legacy is a demanding game, but she can get a good session in without immediately reaching for a charger, which is exactly what we wanted for travel or downtime away from home. Setup and day to day use have been straightforward. Windows on a handheld still isn’t quite console simple, but Lenovo’s software makes it manageable, and once it’s set up it’s easy to jump in and play. Bottom line: if you’re looking for a handheld PC that can handle demanding games like Hogwarts Legacy and still be comfortable and approachable for everyday use, the Legion Go S is an excellent choice. It’s been a perfect “play anywhere” solution for her, and I’d buy it again without hesitation.

I did hours of research on different handheld gaming pcs. There are other ones with better performance and others that are cheaper. This one does everything I wanted for the fairest price. I’ve played BG3 which is a demanding game. It’s had “some” stuttering in the game but looks great and consistently gets 60fps on performance mode. The controller feels great. The only thing that could have been better is the touchpad. However I hardly use this so it’s not a deal breaker for me.
