Love the Legion go S, I thought I was going to have a difficult time because of the bad reviews with Windows OS on handheld devices. But it's been just the opposite. I haven't put down My legion go S since I got it. It goes with me everywhere except church. I was going to go with the purple one because it was cheaper and had Steam OS but I really wanted the white one. I'd recommend this device to anyone who's shopping around for a handheld PC device. Although the battery could be better, it comes with different settings to save the battery when playing on the go. Get this one, you won't regret it. I'm currently using it with a Dbrand skin and protector case. It added extra grip, stability and peace of mind in case I drop it.

The Legion Go S has such a grand screen but the specs are pretty top notch as well. I got this since whenever I laptop game I always plug in a xbox controller and a smaller screen is better for the visuals. When in performance mode it basically runs everything smoothly and crisp. I play wuthering waves and palworld which are very demanding games specs wise but it runs smooth as butter!!
Also this device is pricey as heck so in order to get your moneys worth I reccomend dual booting steam os. Also installing emulation station on windows os. Get the 3 mounth free pc game pass and then use your 1 month ultimate game pass (xbox). But once you have this bad baby your set for the next gen of gaming. Hopefully its possible to change the chip to Z2 Extreme in the future though..

Everything id want a pc to do smushed into a handheld. Absolute 10/10. Runs any game I throw at it smoothly while also able to handle things like video editing. Only downsides are the steep price and the battery life but I haven’t regretted it since I got it.

Really great comfy handheld with some issues:
-speakers are weak
-battery life is not the best
-touchpad is very tiny (but I am very thankful that it exists at all)
-the trigger is kind of awkward to reach while using the tiny touchpad (when using it as a left click)
-the usual wonkiness that comes with windows
If those things don’t bother you, it’s a very great portable machine that can play whatever you throw at it from any launcher that is supported on windows! The build and buttons all feel great, it feels great to hold, and the screen size is nice. The advantage of this one is that you aren’t limited to any one thing on it. Been using it to learn a language since windows allows a lot of custom tools!

Previosly have had the ROG ally and OG legion go. I can say this one is my favorite so far. I loved the bigger screen of the OG go but hated the detached controllers so the Go S is perfect with bigger screen and the device being one whole thing. Definitely recommend this to any gamers out there

High quality device. Probably the best handheld gaming device available that also works as a computer. It's almost unbelieveable that this thing can run Space Marine 2 seemlessly with the correct settings.

Performance is decent, compares close to the Ally X when plugged in, but balanced mode leaves a bit to be desired compared to the 17w equivalent on the Ally X. The screen is great, and a welcome bump up from the Steam Deck OLED (800p) and the 7” Ally X. Speakers being moved to the front was also a great change. Unfortunately, thats where my praise ends. The sticks are in an odd position, offset from the standard Xbox layout, while the hall effect feels great, this makes it hard to reach the “up” and “left” dpad options fast, and the “ABXY” is a reach on the right. Triggers have low travel and at the time of writing this, the hair triggers don’t work due (a known driver issue). Lenovo is also still running extremely out of date GPU drivers, so Doom The Dark Ages and Last of Us 2 are unplayable. I’d hoped the shift to a landscape panel would reduce the barrier for them to update as often, but it hasn’t. Legion Space also still has a LONG way to go to rival Armory Crate, which itself is awful. Secondary buttom mapping isn’t and option yet, and the current secondary bindings are odd (legion button + right thumbstick for Xbox Guide… ridiculous). The battery is just not great, lasting 90-120 minutes unless running indie titles. Finally, the usb-c ports are too close together, meaning accessories still require a hub to use - I can’t power the device and plug in a headset dongle due to this. TLDR: It’s a nice device and an improvement over the original Legion GO, but still leaves a lot to be desired.

Absolutely love this device. I have a 16 inch Lenovo Legion that can be very heavy to tote on trips away from home - along with the headset and anything else needed for a 1-3 hour gaming session. Recently convinced myself to purchase the Windows version with Z1E as recommended by many handheld owners. Glad I did, as taking it with me on my recent vacation, I was able to play my games almost instantly without the need to set up. I look forward to my many adventures with this thing, also great for my coursework in school once connected to a display with my portable mouse and keyboard.
Screen is a perfect size, a little weighty but not as heavy as my laptop, similar to the switch 2 screen which is really great as well. Fans can be a little loud, but not entirely a deal breaker as you get use to the sound and eventually ignore it. Wouldve held out for the LeGo2 but with the price and issues onndelivery, opted to go with the Go S open box which saved me money and less of a chance of defects due to the amount of time it had been released. Can see me using this for atleast 3 more years.

Absolutely love it! Originally had ally x, but my eyes suck lol. So being they were both windowsOS and z1 extreme, I made the switch. GoS has larger, immersive display, adjustable triggers, Hall effect sticks, and it’s simply more comfortable to hold. Downside is legion space, but I don’t use it that often for it to be a dealbreaker.

Just got this item when there was a sale going on and price matched it. The battery life is in between Rog Ally and Ally X but what this has going for it is hall effect joysticks in addition to a more battery friendly yet amazing display compared to Legion Go. Z1 Extreme is also still a pretty powerful chip and unlike 24gb of Ally X Ram this has 32gb so you can have a much larger VRam which gives major FPS boost in games.
Best part is this comes with Windows and best buy offers 1 month of xbox ultimate pass and lenovo offers 3 months of pc game pass which is a saving of ~$60.
If you dont like windows you could easily install Steam OS on it too which is fully supported since there is a Steam OS version of this device with same specs already.
So far very happy with it. Switched from Steam Deck LCD and is a major upgrade.

Upgrade Over Rog Ally’s Screen

I own both of the Rog Ally and the Ally x. One thing that I disliked about the Rogs was the screen size especially for games like diablo 4. I decided to give Lenovo a try and it did not disaapoint me so far. The screen is big and beatiful. The system itself feels more premium and even with a smaller battery is enougn for me. The hall effect sticks keeps me at ease in terms of using it. I upgraded the storage to 4tb and you can add a 2280 to it. Just make sure to watch a tutorial before opening it and either clone your drive or have a stick that lenovo guides you. Lenovo does not have the online set up when installing a new sdd. I love my Legion Go S.

A pretty great device. Only things I would like to add is a larger battery to at least 70 wh, maybe an oled screen (which would only increase the price of the device even more), better speakers, deeper triggers, and a more softer touch and less clicky sound to the 4 buttons near the top of the device; the 2 buttons that sit on either side of the screen which are the view, menu, Legion L, and Legion R buttons. I love the size of the screen. Any larger and it would be too unwieldy for me. 8 in is the largest I'll go for a handheld. i also love the smoothness of the thumbsticks and the feel of the face buttons. The directional buttons are ok. Not bad but nothing exceptional. I enjoy using this device and it's an overall fanstastic device.

This thing is amazing, I love being able to sit or lie down on the couch and play my games while hanging out with the family or just watching TV together. The games run perfectly fine for me on this too, the latest game I played on it was Battlefield 6 and it ran without any lag or stutter. Anybody who likes comfy gaming should get one of these. Added plus side, the SSD is pretty easy to replace if you want something bigger and have a dual-boot setup with steam os.

Bought this device for my son’s birthday. So far, this is everything that he wanted it to be in a PC gaming handheld. Unlike the steamOS version, which in my opinion had a better color option, but lacked the ability to play triple AAA titles like COD, Battlefield in GTA online. These titles were blocked from playing on steam OS due to anti-cheat software that is not compatible with steamOS natively. There was an option to update the system to Windows, but will cause just as much as the Windows device by purchasing window software and purchasing the product key. And not to mention the hundred dollar install fee that Best Buy charges to do it or if your tax savvy, you can do it yourself.
