Don't listen to the naysayers this thing runs AAA games with no problem some games you may have to tweak in the settings but it's no sense inbuying the z1 extreme just a little patience to figure out what works best for you my advice buy it I give it five stars and I'm talking about the Z2 go chipset

I was able to snag this on sale for 499, at that price it was perfect. I took it home and immediately put steam OS on it. Haven’t had any issues. It’s definitely not as performance as the Z1 version. But for 499 the extra ram and storage are really nice over buying the steam OS version. And for my used case of playing mostly older titles. And in games, this is more than enough horsepower. In the screen is big and crisp. Just don’t buy it full price.

The price to performance on this is atrocious. Its a shame because the device feels great, has great controls, and a noce screen. But they chose an underpowered APU that performs significantly worse than the existing legion go that can be bought for cheaper frequently when on sale. Wait for the SteamOS version or wait until Lenovo figures out what the heck they’re doing.

i can't put this device down! dual booted windows and steam os on it and expanded the memory! easily getting 60 frames or more on most games @ 15 watts can also increase the wattage on this if you need more power! the reviews 3 months ago all sound the same, but currently at this price point and updates! run to buy this, screen battery life, ergonomics are great! ive owned or owns currently many handhelds! this is a great balance device!!!

This is an over priced and undercooked option for hand held PC gaming. Its Slower and less optimized than many of its counterparts. It may have some quality control issues also. My Thumb sticks were not calibrated correctly and/or defective. The right trigger didn't always work. Not a good product. Get the Ally X, steam deck or wait and see how they Steam OS version is.

Its has good ergonomics. Better than the OG Legion Go. I think Windows is holding the performance back on the Z2Go. Im sure the SteamOS one will performance way better on this spec.

The console geels great in your hands. It’s ergonomic and as for aesthetics it looks amazing. The performance is really poor though. It’s difficult to understand the value proposition with this device costing the same as or even more than other consoles with stronger performance

I’ve enjoyed ever moment with it. I’ve been using it to get through my back log and it has yet to disappoint. But keep in mind if you are wanting to play more recent triple a games this is not the machine for you and the version with the Z1 extreme is probably a better fit.

Bought it on sale for $499. Installed SteamOS and it changed everything. Runs about 10fps better than the steam deck but in 1200p rather than 800p. The addition of lossless scaling to Linux is also a game changer, doubling FPS

Solid handheld design crippled by weak processor

I’m not really sure what Lenovo or AMD, for that matter, were thinking with this processor design. Think netbook / Intel Atom era performance making a comeback in 2025. Many games released within the two years are mostly unplayable, even on the lowest graphical settings. The handheld design, screen, 32gb RAM and 1TB SSD are otherwise wasted because of the anemic processor. Had this launched with the Z1 Extreme processor, I have no doubt it would be one of the top selling handhelds for 2025. Unless you play older games, don’t bother with this one.

Id say after owning it for a little while even tho the z2 go chipset is not as beefed up as the z1 extreme its still very comperable compared to the original legion go i can run and play aby game i get for it abd have no issues with it id say as far as operation and fmoverall feel when playing it is a good upgrade from the original and since it has no detatchable controllers you dont get all the issues that came with the detachable version

Regret Buying Early, Feels Like a Ripoff

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I purchased the Lenovo Legion Go S in February for $729. Just a month later, the price dropped to $599—and it's stayed that way since. Then in April, Lenovo announced a new version with the exact same design but upgraded to the Z1 Extreme chip. Best Buy listed that one for $759, and now in May it’s up to $899.
Meanwhile, I’m stuck outside the return window with a weaker Z2 GO processor that no one wants to buy. It feels like I paid a premium to be a beta tester for a product that was outdated before it even settled in. No trade-in program, no loyalty credit, no heads-up. Just silence.
If you’re thinking of buying Lenovo handhelds at launch—don’t. Wait a month or two, because they’ll likely undercut you, release something better, and leave you holding the bag.
