Kids love it, despite the bugs.

We've purchased almost every Lego game to come to PS3 and now PS4 for the past five years or so, mostly for visiting kids, but they're typically fun for adults too, even if about the only change from one game to the next is the theme. They're also very good learning games for problem solving development, especially with all the bonus achievements they offer, which are usually far more extensive or time consuming to complete than the game itself. That said, overall, I've been disappointed in the Lego games on PS4 so far. The graphics look like PS3 graphics, but more stable, implying that even on PS3 they were probably rendered at 1080p and just poorly downconverted, introducing lots of artifacts in the process. But what's more disappointing is that the gameplay itself is less stable. Lego has always had it's issues with bugs in split-screen coop, but every PS4 Lego game we've played has had a fair share in single-player too, with Batman 3 being the worst to date. It's almost as if they're still building the games based on PS3 tech, as outside of smoother graphics, none of the games we've played so far try to take advantage of any of the things next gen can do, other than more privacy invasion, as with the new gen, even single player virtually requires an internet connection. The bugs are nothing game crippling. But parents should be prepared to be called in to get characters unstuck from areas of the game they aren't supposed to be able to access, but somehow do quite frequently, or when your PS4 blue screens, asking you to send Sony an error report, before you have to restart your game at the beginning of the level you were last on. Of the 30 to 50 PS4 games we've played, this one has so far been the buggiest by far. I would recommend, as younger kids still love the game (my 13 year old nephew has lost all interest in lego, but my 5 year old nephew can't get enough of it and my 8 year old niece likes it too, as long as she can choose her character), but I'd only recommend it with the above qualifying reservations, as ultimately, it's felt like the game developer has been resting on it's laurels with the Lego franchise for some time now. If they don't spark some sense of ambition soon, the franchise will likely dwindle, as so far, this gen, feels like we're still playing PS3.

PS4 version: Great family game, the DC counterpart to LEGO Marver Superheroes. Has a great roster of characters, a genuine sense of humor, based on Batman's over-the-top personality interacting with the others. Co-op is really a lot of fun (though by this date, one could expect 3 player co-op or any online play to be included by the developer, but alas, nothing). Also as expected is the by now traditional LEGO approach: break stuff, combine abilities from partners or change suits, unlock free play, repeat to fully complete. Nothing groundbreaking, as the puzzles are not hard, but still great fun. Really unique scenarios and a very worthy successor of the great Batman 2. You will replay this a lot, if you want to obtain all the hidden items

As someone who likes video games but isn't a "gamer", I think this game's pretty great. The 1st Lego Batman game set the bar pretty high as far as just being a really fun game to play pretty much anytime. While all the Lego games I've played are fun, I thought Lego Batman 2 was a bit of a let down. In between missions was hard to navigate. With this one, they're back to something a little more simplistic. Just because you CAN make a game more intricate, doesn't mean you should. I feel like, though it's still not as good as the first one, it's on the right track. This reminds me, I need to get back to playing this game.

    Another Great Lego Batman Game

Lego Batman 3 is a great continuation from Lego Batman 2. There are tons of characters and things to do. Like all Lego games, it does get very repetitive, but it is still worth playing through. I found that there is not as much freedom in this game compared to Lego Batman 2. There a some different environments to go to like the JLA Space Station and the Batcave, even the Hall of Doom. Each area is relatively small. There is a great tie in with Batman '66. DLC is alright. You get to play a single level from different DC titles. I was expecting more than a level, especially with the Dark Knight Trilogy pack. Still worth it though.

Lego nails it once again with this third sequel to it's Batman series of games! This game features a vast array of playable characters including most of my favorite DC Comics villains and heroes. As usual the gameplay is exciting and quirky with tons of content, missions, locales, and things to do and look for. I have yet to be disappointed by a Lego Batman title and this newest game is no exception. If you are a Lego game fan you owe it to yourself to pick this one up, especially now that it's at a discounted price.

Fun, But Not As Strong As Other Lego Games

Lego Batman 3 has the gameplay and humor from past Lego games. There is a large cast of over 100 characters. After you beat the main game, you have access to these small hub worlds filled with challenges, gold bricks, races, missions, etc. These worlds don't feel like a true open world sandbox which is this game is sorely lacking compared to other games like Lego Marvel Superheroes. If you like Lego, Batman, DC, and aren't expecting a huge sandbox hub, then you will like this game.

The main "story" is fairly short... I beat in in 2 days with my 6 year old nephew (the main person I bought it for). I had previous played LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and the content it contained seem to be much more in depth with additional side missions and quests that can be played. Unless I am missing something, once you complete the story mode, the only thing left to do is beat it again. I bought it for $20 and I am glad I did not pay any more.

After getting my Playstation 4 I was trying to find games that would be kid friendly. Enter Lego Batman 3. The controls are easy to use, the game play finds a nice balance between simple yet challenging objectives, and the characters are easily recognizable. One thing I love is that instead of a character "dying," they simply break apart into a stack of Lego pieces. This game is greatly enjoyed by my kids under 10, but fun enough for me to play in my own time as well.

If you got past LEGO Indian Jones, without too much confusion, this is about that level as LEGO games go. There are times where there is no easy (fun) way to just knock out a certain area and you have to fall back on the ol' Destroy Everything. When the path is clearly marked but no clear way to get there, start cycling then double cycling abilities. More frustrating than fun, I know, but this one just isn't geared for the younger set.

Lately the Lego game series have been about the narrative mixed with fun gameplay and an engaging world. This game just lacked most of what made earlier games, especially those in the Super Hero series. great. Gone is the world to explore, and you don't even really have a hub any more.. just iconic places from the DC Universe. Levels are not selected through a computer from the Watch Tower and the whole game seems less and not as fun or polished on the whole.

We have the LEGO movie and the Marvel LEGO game for PS4 and the kids have great time w/ them. This one is very similar concept wise, just with different characters and in a different world. Besides the content, there isn't anything really new about it, but my kids are 5 and 8 years old so they are not yet very keen on the game play. They are happy to run around and find stuff. Collecting different characters seems like fun for them.

I purchased this for my nephews and they have enjoyed it thoroughly. Like every other Lego game, one can start, then a second player can just jump in at any point. They love batman, so getting to play as him and his many suits and gadgets has them occupied for a good while before bed time. This version includes the classic Adam West character which was a nice addition, pretty fun for those who grew up watching that classic tv show.

It was disappointing that the hub area of Gotham City from the second game was no longer present, as the different planets are not nearly as fun to explore. But this is still a rewarding and fun LEGO game. The characters (and character customization) are very great, arguably the best of any of the LEGO games, especially if you like DC. Overall a pretty good experience, especially if you have someone with whom to play cooperatively.

This a great improvement to Lego Batman 1 and 2. There are so many more characters, better/ more complex levels, and more cohesive design of map. Less loading screens and lots more to do and play. Best new feature (suits dont have to be picked up, once you unlock it you can activate it at any time) All these things compete with the marvel lego game that came out and DC did a great job with improving there lego game to compete.

I'm a big fan of the Lego games. I loved the original Lego Batman when it was released and the sequel was fun too. I bought Beyond Gotham first for PS3 than for PS4. They made some great changes and updates. Not a big fan of searching the various planets as it got redundant and I missed exploring the open world of Gotham in the second game. But they tried new things and pushed the game creatively.

I really like this game, but it's hard to get over the bridge between point A and point B if you know what I mean. A literal example was when I tried to get batman out of water and onto a dock, which was attainable, it wouldn't let me. If you get frustrated and annoyed easily. DON'T DO IT. If you have patience and can keep your senses, go right ahead. It's a really nice game overall.

Fans of the Lego video games notice that the series does tend to follow a tried and true formula. Lego Batman 3 is no exception. The game is family friendly, and enjoyable for all ages. It keeps up the series tradition of silly, light-hearted humor mixed with gameplay that is action-packed, but non-violent. I am 29 years old, and I love the lego games, but they are accessible to gamers of all ages.

This game is magnificent so awesome the game itself is hilarious, story is very very good especially if you like the lanterns. I definitly recommend this game to anyone who likes lego games it is the best lego game to this day in my opinion and I have been playing them since the very first Lego starwars which was the first Lego game ever. Definitely 5 out of 5 would be 6 out of 5 but I can't do that lol.

If you have ever played any of the Lego games, you know what to expect. bash blocks, gather gold and red bricks, unlock characters. Charming story is marred by inconsistent flow, but a massive roster that includes obscure references true comic fans will love. Great if youre looking for a way to game with a younger child, as I do with my daughters. Not perfect, but well worth your time

Its a lego game. Therefore just like all the others this game was amazing and tons of fun to play. All the super heroes are a blast to play and the story is really good. The gameplay is smooth and the look is fantastic. Couple of parts stumped me for a bit but thats ok. If you are or are not a fan of the lego universe games alike you will enjoy this game.
