Our 6 year old son loves Legos. Specifically, he enjoys the Lego City series, and somehow he's managing to get every set (his mother says that Daddy is a party to this, but I claim the 5th!). We visit the Lego site regularly, and of course, the trailer video for the game came out last year, and he was stoked. He wanted this game. Really really REALLY wanted this game. So, we invested in the Wii U system to get this game, and it sure does work well! The game play is easy yet challenging, the graphics look great, and having the tablet controller really adds a new dimension onto the game (quite literally - the sounds come from both the TV and controller, so you get a 3-D sound experience). The game holds true to the usual Lego humor, with loads of pop-culture references that has daddy rolling on the ground in laughter and his son wondering what the big deal is. The game guides you along, but after certain savepoints you can dawdle and travel anywhere within the Lego City realm and explore - loads of hidden little nuances that make it endlessly entertaining. One thing that I don't understand is the savepointing process. I would assume that the functionality should be there to say "hey, save my place right here", and the next time you come back and restore your game, you're right back where you were. However, after you quit for the night and turn the game off and then come back the next day, you always start out in front of the Lego City Police Department - with all your achievements still in place, but you spent quite a bit of time to get back to that site in the country where your current mission is telling you to go. Confusing, but workable. Overall, the game is great, fantastic, and just about every other positive descriptor you can give it!

My son (8yo) and I really enjoy this new LEGO game for Wii U. The storyline is entertaining and well written. What we love is how unrestricted the characters are in their ability to explore the LEGO City world. Want to see what's over that cliff? Go check it out! Want to see what's in that garage? Open it and see! The characters are very interactive, from the pedestrians on the street to the rabbits and spiders in the woods to the farm animals in the countryside. The vehicles are fun to drive and the physics are realistic and really well done. So far there are two Wii U games, in my opinion, that have really done an excellent job utilizing the Wii U gamepad, and LEGO City is one of them. The gamepad-specific functions that are used in the game feel natural and are fun to perform. We love the game play, however the surprising drawback to this game is the lack of multiplayer cooperation. This has been a staple of past LEGO franchise games and I'm disappointed that my son and I have to take turns playing instead of simultaneously working to accomplish tasks. Overall, I recommend this game to anyone and everyone, but do keep in mind the game can only be played by one person at a time.

    The best LEGO game yet.

I've played a lot of LEGO games. Not all of them, but close enough, and this is defeinately the best I've encountered. Instead of the relatively fixed, plot driven model of the Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings games, LEGO City: Undercover takes place in the open environment of LEGO city. While the story and subsequent quests are a lot of fun, sending you on adventures through the city in chase of a master criminal, it's almost as much fun to commandeer random vehicles and cruise LEGO city to see the sights and people. The only drawback is the annoyingly long load times when entering new environments or waiting for one of the numerous cutscenes to load. Early in the game this problem is particularly irritating with some back to back to back loads, but it evens out some as the game really gets going, While LEGO has done a great job in the past at interpreting classic faranchises, this game is a whole new experience, almost worth it just for the stunning HD graphics that really brings LEGO city to life. Highly recommended, to everyone,

    Humorous Open World Lego Adventure

My kids play this the most and absolutely say it's their favorite game. There are a lot of vehicles to drive around and they often forget aboutt he story and just explore the city for special blocks and collecting. Graphics are good, on par with the other HD lego games. The Wii U gamepad works as your PDA/Cell Phone to keep in contact with headquarters and the kids love it. The story line is very funny and family friendly. Definitely recommended to anyone that likes lego or even those who enjoy open world city exploring.

I love all the Lego games and this game is no different. It has a great storyline with tons of humor that adults will probably get if they are a fan of old school police shows, movies and some crime movies. Love all the references to...well I wil not say and spoil it. When I first saw this game I said I must have this but saw it was only for the Wii-U I was disappointed but for Christmas was surprised with one and I just had to get this game as it seemed like an open world GTA Lego game. I do wish they had music choices when you are driving and a longer story but even thought I beat it, I must go back and unlock everything I couldnt when doing the missions.

Great Game - Best in the Lego Series

This is an awesome game - Don't let the Lego name fool you, this is not just a kid game by any means. The story is has downright great comedy and one liners (many that only Adults would pick up on - like the Lego Cop that talks like Dirty Harry...etc...) Its a fun game and appears that it will take some time to finish the whole game. Graphics are good, gameplay is good, and the use of the gamepad is implemented GREAT.

My seven year old daughter loves this game. The story line keeps her interested in this game. She beat the story line and only completed 27% of the game so there is plenty of replay value to this game. She is now going through the story line a second time. Currently this is the only game she wants to play and that includes NSMBU.

At first I did not think I would like a Lego game that was not based on a movie or franchise, but that is actually the best part. You don't have to follow a script like in some of the previous titles. There is a lot of detail. Even down to the back alleys and sound effects. Great buy and a great title to purchase.

This game is easily the best Lego game. The open world game play is great and I love playing the game and all the different super builds around the world. The Story is fun and the minute details that go into the dialogue and atmosphere of the world make it great fun to play.

I have played most of the lego games and this one hands down is one of the best games out there. SO much so that I went and bought it for my kids DS. I play it on there cause I can't play it at work. My kids who are 5 and 7, play with their 11 year old cousins and they all enjoy it.

my younger son and i both enjoy the Wii Lego games. neither of us cares for the car or plane (air) races much, we don't find the vehicles easy to navigate (in any of the games, truthfully, inc the superhero games) either on the Wii or the WiiU. but we do like the stories and the interaction, and the challenges, especially to find the bonus game levels, and the challenge of gathering all the characters and bricks

I was super excited about this game, and I was not disappointed when I got it. This is a great game, and a must have for all Wii U console owners. I was thoroughly impressed with this game. The only downfall is the near 1 minute loading times that occur occasionally.
