This is my third time going into a Toys to Life game and I can say that this is one of best ones of the three. Compared to Disney Infinity and Skylanders, Lego Dimensions has many of the beloved franchises adults and children know well. It includes older franchises like Ghostbusters and Back to the Future and newer franchises like Legends of Chima and Ninjago. On top of that, the use of the game pad (the thing used to scan them into the game) is cleverly used within the game to solve puzzles. Lego Dimensions is a great game to play and even though it has a high price it is totally justified by the amount of content included in the base pack.

We have players from 9-adult playing this fun game and so far have enjoyed it. It's a bit hard when playing split screen with 2 players as there is so much going on and it's hard to keep track of what you are doing. However, I imagine with some more time, it will get easier to manage the "chaos" of so much action and so many characters. It's definitely fun to build and add the characters and move them in and out of the game while playing. The kids also like playing their own character which they built. Like the dialog built into the game so far and true to lego form, it offers missions to build and create as well as defeat enemies.

This game is not worth the price. It is a cool concept and very Skylanders/Disney Infinity. The actual game is good. Short, but good. HOWEVER, do not get sucked in to purchasing all the little expansions. The reason why I say this is because, each little additional character (at an outrageously high price) contributes little if anything to the actual game. Even the level packs like Portal and such aren't worth it. The actual levels included only last around 10 minutes tops. I feel bad for the parents whose children will beg for the expansions when in all honesty, it's a huge waste of money.

I son enjoyed playing this game. The packs are pricey though, but its worth buying the game and the packs

9 YO received other games for Christmas but hasn't even bothered to open them yet. He loves the different characters and places he can go

The game is great. It's exactly what you would expect from LEGO. My only complaint is with the pad. Sometimes you have to move the characters around from place to place to complete puzzles or special moves. This means you have to be right next to it at all times, making sitting back and relaxing while playing the game impossible. It's still a great game, though. I look forward to getting multiple expansion packs.

You can play the game without buying any of the add-ons. The game itself is a lot of fun that will take a bit of time to win. If you want to collect everything then you will have to fork over some money to do so.

Bought this for my 8 yrs old sons. He really enjoys playing with it. Building the figures keeps him busy before playing the game.

this is a very good game, the only issue is it is kinda expensive, got mine with a huge discount if you see it on sale grab it

This game has extensive amounts of content. Plus you get to play with Legos... my childhood dreams have come true!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 27 year old wife. She likes the Lego games because video games aren't really her thing and they're easy enough for her to play. It's a game we can play together, and she likes being able to expand with additional character packs. My only complaint is that the split screen on 2 player mode makes things difficult to see at times, especially when you're trying to aim for a target. Other than that, pretty fun for a kid's game.

I knew I would like this because of how it mixes the different Lego properties but I didn't think I would like this as much as I do. Mix up different worlds with different characters and different vehicles. The Lego character charm is all there in spades and the voice cast is on point. If you've played any Lego game before you'll know what you're in for. If you haven't you're in for a fun ride.

Awesome game, my sons love he game. Cool new way to enjoy the game and build Legos.

The game itself is fun and has some innovative things that aren't in the competition (D Infinity & Sky L's) however just like those items, this will become very expensive in the future. One fun thing is the different worlds that can be brought into it. ( Portal, Scooby, Back to the Future) I'm looking forward to seeing what worlds will be added in the future.

Purchased this for my nephew and after watching him play feel I need to pick it up for myself as well. Similar play to any of the previous LEGO games with the added bonus of changing levels and characters. One of the best parts was the voices were the original cast members for the characters being portrayed. That helps you immerse yourself in to the world.

It's a good fun game. Very quick. But expensive. You have to buy each world and character for 30 dollars. And that's such a pain.

There is a small joy to be had when you see Batman riding Shelob while fighting Cybermen in space. These are the kind of scenarios in which I can't help but smile while I play this game. As of this writing I am about 1/4 through the game and I am loving every minute. First off The portal is so much different the other "toy to life" games we have seen so far. Lego does a great job making sure you are always picking up and playing with the figurines. Of course no Lego game would be complete without building and the game does a great job of keeping you occupied with that. Every single vehicle or gadget you build in real life, can be upgraded in-game and once you have upgraded it enough times (10 for the first) then you can level up to the next model, therefore tearing it apart and building the new leveled up one with the in game instructions provided. I could go on and on and on about this game but I'll stop here. The game is great and albeit a tad bit pricy, totally worth it, because at the end of the day when you turn the game off you still have fully functioning Legos to display, play with, or what ever you choose. Really, who doesn't want a mini Lego Marty McFly with a time traveling DeLorean!?

lots of fun game play with multiverse , only downside is you have to buy all of the lego sets which is $$$$

I'd highly recommend this game. The characters and worlds are designed with love. You can defeat the game with only the basic characters, but you can't 100% it with just them. I played the story with just the three included characters - it was super fun. The more characters I purchase via Fun, team or level packs has been worth the money.

Okay this game is aweosome. There is so much more to do than anyother lego game and it is a very hands on game in where you get the instructions for some of the other builds in the game. This a really fun game and lots of different worlds to explorer. The other cool thing is you wont need to buy another portal when 2.0 comes out.
