I got this game the day it came out. The game is spectacular, the multi-player is amazing, the graphics are second to none, and the story/challenges are superb. Now, im a huge potter fan and i would recommend this game to a not potter fan. The game, the way its set up, is funny. The cut scenes stick to the story pretty well, which is amazing, the cut scenes are also funny!, very humorous. Overall amazing game, fun for all ages, and just an amazing game overall. I would without a doubt recommend this game to anyone.

My daughter is really enjoying the game. She loves the Harry Potter books and movies and the theme of this game does not disappoint. She also enjoys the challenge of the game. It is not too hard nor too easy. If you have a kid who is a Harry Potter fan this is a good game.

Great game - more fun with LEGOs on the Wii!

A fun game for Harry Potter fans. I enjoy playing it in two player mode - it helps with reaching True Wizard in each level and with figuring out how to clear each level. Fun for all ages!

This is a fun Wii game as all the Lego games seem to be. The game has puzzle solving and the ability to explore the various levels. Game follows the Harry Potter movies.

Good story line. Love the series, and now my kids do too. Can't wait to eventually tie the game story together with the movies for them.

    Unresolved Defects on Wii Version

    Posted .

Having played the other Lego themed games, we were very excited for the Harry Potter installment of TT's franchise. We got the game on the first day and immediately dove into it. About halfway through, we discovered that one of the levels in Year 2 was not available for free play mode (there were only 5 levels). On doing some research, we discovered that if you exit the story mode before completing the Tom Riddle level, then it is not available later and you cannot get back to it. At the time we figured we'd just re-start the game in order to get the level, and we were able to do that. We are now at 98% completion after many hours of play, and we have run into another defect that is preventing us from completing the game. The "spot" at the entrance of the Gryffindor common room is no longer active, so we cannot re-enter it to finish the game. We have spoken to Warner Brothers technical support on several occasions regarding both of these issues, and they state that they know about the defects, but they have no estimated fix date for the Wii (they have released fixes for other game platforms). Their only fix at this time is to re-start the game, and even then they cannot guarantee that you will be able to finish without these defects recurring. This is a fantastic game, but until the defects are fixed for the Wii platform, we strongly discourage anyone from buying this game for the Wii (other platform versions of this game are stable).

Fun game for Harry Potter fans!

Harry Potter Lego Years 1-4 was surprisingly challenging. The storylines, while modified and condensed a bit, are still very true to the movies/books (more the movies). There are so many different Potter characters to unlock and extras to hunt down that you'll spend hours working on them after you've finished the main game. I do wish the game had some sort of zoom or camera control, though. Some jumps were a little difficult to manage because of the camera. However, this was only a minor annoyance, and overall, the game is very fun.

    Fun game!

    Posted .

I love the LEGO games for their interactive play, that I can play with at least one other person (not one who likes to play alone). This is very typical of the other LEGO games (I've played LEGO Star Wars and a tiny bit of Indiana Jones too). Fun, moves fast, a bit challenging when trying to figure out what needs done in each level. My only complaint is that the save points are VERY far apart! In the Star Wars game, save points were a good length, easy to reach within an hour or two, especially when playing with a partner. On HP, my brother and I played for over 2.5 hours without hitting a save and that was very disappointing, to know we'd have to start all over. Other than that, good game.

My son has found some glitches in this Wii game but overall has really enjoyed playing. It will freeze occasionally or won't let him perform a particular task. We have to turn it off and back on again to get the program running again.
