Marvel Lego is the best LEGO game yet!

Marvel Lego is not just another great entry in the Lego game series, it's the best Lego game to date. The graphics are the the usual Lego fare, which isn't bad, but you've come to expect the same strong graphics from Telltale games. The story line is a lot of fun, pulling inspiration from the classic Marvel team-ups where the X-Men, Avengers, etc, have to come together to stop a legion of villains. Each character, good and bad, are given their own intro spots where they pop up and they're really great to watch. As is usual with the Lego games, there are dozens and dozens of collectible characters, mini-kits, bricks, etc, to collect. Every character is given their own special power. For example, Wolverine can dig, Magneto can manipulate metal, Hawkeye can use his arrows to blow things up and create swings across gaps, and so forth. It's really fun bringing those characters together on every level. The game is also packed with the humor that we have come to expect in the Lego games. There are many inside jokes tying back to the Marvel universe/films. I even caught a small nod to "Pulp Fiction" with Sam Jackson's Nick Fury character. Great stuff! I do have a few minor gripes though. Some of the controls aren't really explained. For instance, Iron Man can fly, but controlling him in flight is problematic and tricky and we're never really given a proper walkthrough on how to control him. This is also an issue with other flying characters, obviously. Also, each Lego game has kind of a "base" level where you can explore, collect studs, and whatnot. Marvel Lego has the SHIELD Hellicarrier, which is huge. That's not a problem; the problem comes in with the MASSIVE Lego creation of New York city. It's just MASSIVE and it's filled with collectibles! The problem is that the map is a bit tricky to read as if you find a Gold brick on the map, sometimes it doesn't correlate to the actual place. I'm not sure if these bricks on rooftops or what, so it can be rough at times. Also, it's never explained that you can do random acts of good and you're rewarded with gold bricks. It would be better if we had an explanation of the benefits of exploring NYC. I looked it up online to get a better sense of what to do. Lastly, some of the levels are huge, which is great, but at times I found myself stumped as to how to move on. I figured it out, but it could be hard for younger gamers who might get frustrated. But that's what teamwork is for! Overall, these gripes are really, really small compared to how insanely fun this game is. Seriously, a small review on BB.com doesn't even begin to explain how fantastic this game is. If you're a fan of Lego games or Marvel, you really can't miss this one. It's the best Lego game yet.

    Big Improvement from recent Entries

This is a vast improvement over LEGO Batman 2, which was the last major entry in the superhero series. That game suffered from bland level design, frustrating vehicle usage in a poorly designed overworld, and a false promise when it came to the idea of using all the DC heroes in-game. Other than the frustrations of split-screen camera setup, this game improves in every way. The huge variety of characters all throughout the game makes the game fun and full of surprises, and visually interesting. One of the best parts though is the continued play after the main missions are over. There are hidden mini-levels all throughout the New York City overworld that keep the game interesting long after the main story is finished. Definitely one worth playing for kids and adults alike, and a great bang for the buck, especially at $49.99.

My daughter and I enjoyed planning this game at Best Buy store so I decided to buy when it went on sale. I also had a reward certificate so I paid half the sale price. Unfortunately, my daughter and I are not game-savvy so game is more difficult to navigate thru than anticipated. There are not enough clues to direct your tasks to reach the next level. I ended up using the Internet to find out what we needed to do to advance. I wish it had a free play mode to explore areas, choosing any marvel character, similar to Disney infinity or mine craft. The game is ok, but I wish it was an easier Lego-based game.

We bought this game for our youngest son (he's 12) and he absolutely loves anything Lego. He wouldn't stop playing this game for about 3 or 4 weeks. The only reason he doesn't play it now is because he has homework and doesn't get much video game time. He loves it!! The different characters he can play as is amazing and he loves all the different options he has in the game to do. He isn't constrained to just playing the levels to beat the game, there's other things for him to do increasing it's re-playability. It's a great addition to the Lego lineup.

Even though forza 5 is out, this game is still really impressive. Great graphics, car selection and tracks. The story line/ career mode is hard to follow. You just go through the races one by one and it's hard to know when you can select cars or when you have to use only what you have. This is also really frustrating to play without a wheel. All that being said, once your on the track the graphics are beautiful and the car dynamics are realistic. I also like how the damage fits how the car hit the wall etc.

Well I fell for the 'couch' multi-player trick printed on these games. I should have scrutinized it much more before the purchase, because it is just not fun to play alone. There are tons of characters to unlock which is very cool; however, all characters have basically the same moves and their powers are all equal. I must admit that I almost rage quit after turning into a teapot as Mr. Fantastic 200 times in a mission. All in all, this was the first and last LEGO game I will ever buy....

If you like the Lego games, they really hit it out of the park with this one! The graphics are fantastic and there are literally more characters than any other game I've played of theirs. I will also willingly admit the difficulty level might be slightly more advanced than previous games. All that being said, the game is very well designed and highly entertaining. Each character has special silks and the storylines are quite involved. It gets 5+ stars from me!

My boys (12 & 16) are chronic Lego nuts and have pretty much hammered all the story lines. This one really is diverse and open to independent adventure. Game notwithstanding the story line is ongoing and the character selection is not only immense but downright nostalgic as I am a HUGE Marvel fan from WAYYYYYYYY back. The comedic tilt lends itself to keeping it light and digestible for kids of all ages. Highly recommended!!!

LEGO games have never been very challenging, but that's not what I'm looking for in a LEGO game. I'm looking for a great story that involves iconic characters in LEGO form. This is definitely the best one so far! There are so many characters I was blown away. I love that they have Coulson giving you tips, Stan Lee celebrating with you when you save him, and Deadpool having his own narrated levels!

First off I play with a gen 1 Xbox 360 so that may have an influence on the performance of this game. When starting to play the game it would often struggle to keep up video/sound/character load and until I had played the game for about 15-20 min. So I don't know if it was because the game is so massive that it causes my Xbox to struggle or poor programming. Either the game is still fun and definitely worth the time.

    Fun Game For The Kids

I bought this game for my kids. They really enjoy playing it. It's a story mode game where you are a couple of different marvel characters at each stage or level. There are bad guys you have to fight through and then there are puzzles you have to solve which sometimes can only be solved by a certain character. The kids first tried a demo at the store and then later we decided to buy the game.

My son absolutely loves this game. It has all his favorite Marvel Super Heroes and even some obscure characters that he enjoys learning about. What I like most is the game is easy enough for him to play but the story line and game play is challenging and enjoyable for me as well. Him and I really enjoy playing it together. Also can't beat the fact it was marked down about 30% right before Christmas!

My son and I are 30yrs apart in age and we can both enjoy and feel challenged by all the LEGO games. The game has continuous lego smashing action and over 100 unlockable characters. A lot of teamwork and problem solving is required to pass most levels and the replay is great. You can continue to discover characters that didn't come out in the storyline. Awesome family game for Marvel fans!

I love this game. These Lego series video games are great, and my 5 year old loves them. This game is great for kids..... It does have violence, yes.... But they are cartoons and done in a fun way. It provides complex thinking for young children who try to play. My son blows me away at how he can figure things out on here! I love to play along with him and "hulk smash" everything! Lol

My son loves marvel and other lego character games. Having them in one game has made it a great feature. I will often play with him and have noticed a great level of detail in each of the game setting. It was well designed and gives a ton of character choices for the different mood changes your kids may have. It operates the same as other Lego games so it is easy for them to follow.

I previously got the Lego movie game and its great so I expected the same from this game and I wasn't disappointed. it has great replayability and a free roam of the world with tons of side quests and fun things you can do. Not to mention all the super heroes and their unique abilities and the vehicles you can unlock. And for the price they have it now definitely worth buying

The narrative and humor are well executed and its very kid friendly. The adaptation of superhero powers to the lego universe is very creative. I love the boss fights as well. There are a few that I really enjoyed playing with my wife. This is a game worth getting for any comic book fan and definitely something children can enjoy.

My g/f and I saw the demo while visiting in-store and she just wanted to play the game at home. The simplicity is great for anyone to play and the many characters keep it entertaining. Requires some skill and thinking for some of the missions which kept us engaged for some time. Played the entire game. Look forward to other LEGO games.

Got this for my son's 7th birthday and he loves it. There have been a few things in the game he asked for help with but he got the hang of it quick and has loved playing. He stopped playing infinity and only wants to play this game. Game play is great for 7 to 10 year Olds in my opinion but I play it some too so it's fun for all ages.
