My kids love legos and mario bros, so what a perfect combination! The interactive portions just adds to the fun for them. A bit more pricey than I would expect for what you get (could buy an actual mario game for the same price!), but they seem to love it, so I'm sure we'll get our moneys worth.

Fun but time consuming to put together

This Mario lego set is pretty fun but the pieces easily come apart and it is time consuming to put back together. I have four kids with the youngest being 4 so even when they are being careful during play, they break apart. That being said, all of my kids have enjoyed playing with the legos. We have two other sets so it is fun to put them all together. And I like that it comes with an app with easy to understand instructions for putting the pieces back together so you always have those instructions.

I purchased this game as a gift. I thought it was just a Lego set with a Mario character. It turned out to be an interactive game using Legos. The children just love it. They can use an app on their iPads to play. It was well worth the price. I can't wait to buy them expansion sets.

I am a grown adult and found so much fun with this lego set.
I loved building legos as a kid and this rekindled that joy for me.
The Mario has a little screen on hit's stomach that changes based on the barcodes it scans under it, Ingenious!
Love this thing, will be buying all the expansion sets!

This is by far the coolest Lego collaboration I have ever purchased! The technology amazed both me and my 5 year old! The app is great for helping us build, it made the process much more interactive!

This was one difficult item to find but my local Best Buy had it and I didn’t have to pay a ridiculous price like what was advertised on Amazon. Plus, there were other smaller kits we didn’t know existed, which made great stocking stuffers. It really made our grandson’s Christmas.

Love this set, it introduced my son into lego and now hes hooked. Mario is interactive and connects to tablet. You can set up course how ever you want which is really cool too. I think its a good set for kids whom aren't lego experts yet and are new to the toy.

Great fun with my 6 years old son who loves Mario. Along with the expansion packs we got we are able to build different stages similar to how the video game works. Very interactive and allows my son to use his brain and map out courses for Mario to run through.

I was a little confused at first by the high price and relatively small amount of legos. But after assembling the course and popping some battering in Mario, I was pleasantly surprised. It was my nephews favorite gift he received for his birthday.

Great idea. Love how it’s interactive. I would have given it 5 stars if the box it came in wasn’t all smashed up.

Toy of the year

This is a candidate for toy of the year if you ask me! My child was very excited to receive this for Christmas. Helping to put it together, I was surprised that the instructions are to be downloaded via an app on phone or tablet. I highly suggest downloading it on a tablet for ease of child use. The tablet instructions are outstanding as you can not rotate the steps in the directions for better clarity and it helped my child do 90% of it all by himself.
The app also shows video demos of how to use various interactions this set allows such as how to defeat a Goomba, use the cloud and so on.
When you "jump" out of the pipe, Mario syncs with the app to track your coin progress and level progress giving you stats at the end of each "level". This set is enough for endless fun but there are also additional sets and characters you can add to it.
Great job Nintendo and Lego!

LEGO are always a great toy! The Mario sets allow you to build your own courses or levels. It’s really cool to see the courses come to life in really world. My only issues and it the usually with legos... they are expensive and bunch of little tiny parts.

LEGO Mario is such a fun and exciting product. Mario himself looks great and sounds even better! Voiced by the man himself, Charles Martinet, LEGO Mario has plenty of audio samples. From his trademark "Let's a go!" to his reaction to falling in lava to falling asleep...he does it all.
The motion sensing capabilities he has a really fun and interactive, too. He can read codes beneath him that react differently to various enemies and he knows the difference between being on top of colors like blue, green, and red...reacting uniquely to each.
The course itself, from pipe to flagpole, are all super fun. Bowser Jr. and the Goomba you get area also neat. It's a very well put together course that gives you a lot of variety and at a good quality build.
Great seeing Nintendo and LEGO partner up like this. Here's to them doing something similar for The Legend of Zelda!
