Great laptop, especially for the price

    Posted .

This is a great laptop ala cheap. The CPU isn't the fastest but it's plenty fast, especially once an app is up and running. It's 320GB hard drive is ample for storage. The fingerprint reader is convenient and secure. PortLocker prevents a flash drive from copying info, or from infecting. The DVD Burner is good for watching movies too, and the screen is ample enough for that, and it has 802.11n wifi and the sound is not bad and there's the earphone option too. The battery life is decent and there's 3 USB ports as well as HDMI, and the webcam is nice and there's a built in microphone and Windows 7 Home Premium is a nice addition and it has Microsoft Word Starter for free. This is a great homework, or business or home computer. I'll definitely buy from Best Buy again and it will likely be a Lenovo.

    Fantastic Value!

    Posted .

This laptop is all about value. The build quality is very decent and solid, everything works from the get-go, set up was quick. The bells and whistles of DVD burner, built-in webcam, 4GB DDR3 RAM and HDMI out top off the great value. It's also true, as other reviews I read said, that this laptop does not warm up, unlike my 2007 Gateway scorcher, which could iron clothes. Could I have spent 2-3x for a more powerful laptop? Sure. Would I like a faster processor? Sure. I do notice a little lag time when I've got 7 Chrome tabs open, and 3 other programs in the background. But the upside to that is the processor doesn't get hot, and battery life is fantastic. I'm still getting used to the mouse pad, which is pretty sensitive. It does support multi-touch guestures, which is great. But I normally use a wireless mouse, so it doesn't matter much. Besides that, nothing beats this value. The only reason not to buy this laptop is if you are going to be doing some heavy video editing. Even gaming is very decent on it. I have resolved that technology improves so much in 4-5 years that you should switch out your laptop that often anyway, so why spend a premium on it when you can get a laptop that looks great, is relatively light and thin, and gets the job done for so much less $$$?

For the price, this is tough to beat. Compare the specs, weight, and battery life... Makes this a no brainier. I got it for my wife and will be getting another for myself!

    LOVE!

My husband bought me the Lenova and, while setting it up for me, decided he liked it so much that he went and got the same computer for himself. It's a great laptop with lots of wonderful features! Awesome deal for the money!

Inspect it as soon as you're home

The specs are great for its price point. However mine had a defective screen and I had to return it the same day for an exchange.

    Very sharp edge

    Posted .

The sharp edge cut into fatty part of palm when resting near bottom so much that it got numb and tingly and you could see the deep indent. Slower start up no matter how much you tried to fix. Web cam excellent and clear. Fast machine. Keys perfect and wish more were made like that. I returned due to the sharp edge. Comes with lots of programs you'll have to delete. I hear customer service is rotten so I'll stick with someone else for now. I think the higher end one for around 575.00 has a less sharp edge.

    Great for college.

This is a nice lightweight computer for college use. It holds a charge for 4+ hours, but charges back up quickly. The self-cooling process keeps it nice and cool when you have to hold it on your lap.

    Was nice at first...

    Posted .

Loved it at first. Was especially excited with the fingerprint scanner. Within the first month of owning it, had blue screen talking about an error and froze. We couldn't even click or scroll down to the options on the blue screen. We could only turn it off by pressing and holding the power button. A few weeks later the fingerprint scanner stopped working. When trying to turn on the laptop, it began taking forever to start up. Eventually, the laptop wouldn't even turn on. It would freeze on the start up screen. All in all the Lenovo only lasted about 6 or 7 months...The only positive was the first three weeks of having it.
