    More than meets my needs

    Posted .

After much research and years of being a diehard Toshiba buyer, I decided to take the plunge and try something new--especially since I haven't been too happy with recent Toshiba's. I'm glad I did. Considering the budget price, which agg'd me a little to see that it has decreased even more since I purchased mine a few days ago, you get your money's worth and more. Someone said there was no HDMI port on theirs, but mine came with one. I also have 4 ports, so I don't have to worry about finding a way to access items on my phone and flash drive at the same time. The port fittings are kind of tight for some of my devices, but I'm still able to get them in there and access my files. Don't know what that's about. Battery life is anywhere from 4 1/2 - 5 hours. Not bad, considering my former laptop only lasted about an hour or two before it required charging and got worse over time. All in all, I'm pretty satisfied. I've been able to run Photoshop and other design software with no problems. Updating my website is quick. No freezes. FTP goes off without a glitch. My other system would flatline when I tried to upload too many files. I'm not doing any gaming on this system, so I can't speak on that, but I will say that anyone using wireless printing shouldn't encounter any problems. I was able to setup my printer with no problems. Even my speakers appear to do their job. It would be nice if the webcam resolution was a bit clearer. Oh, and the fingerprint access system is a lovely addition that I expect from higher end systems. Nice to see in a budget laptop.

    VERY impressive for the price!

I was looking for a laptop to replace my older ThinkPad. It was simply old, slow and showing its' age (2006). I really wanted a new ThinkPad, but the prices were out of my range. Upon searching numerous places online, I came across the Lenovo 575. For the $299 price, I figured... ehh... this thing is going to be a cheesy entry level laptop. I was wrong. Not only is the AMD E-450 APU impressive, I never expected it to be as quick as it is, only having a dual core CPU @ 1.6GHz per core. It seems to be just as quick as my 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo desktop. With this Lenovo having 4 gigs of RAM, an HDMI port, eSATA port and DVD burner standard, it is impressively optioned for the price. Most in this price range are Celerons or single core AMDs with integrated Intel graphics and only 2 gigs of RAM. After using it for 2 days, I am thoroughly impressed. The build quality is definitely above others in this price range. If you are looking for a new laptop in this price range, I strongly recommend checking this computer out!

    Great Budget Computer

    Posted .

My mom just purchased this computer for daily use and I had a look at it. It is really light, has a bright LED screen, and has a keyboard and touchpad that can be found in expensive laptops. I love the keyboard, really easy to type on and the touchpad is nice and responsive. It has an amd entry level dual core processor. It is really fast. It is fast enough for surfing the net, hd movies, word, music, and basic stuff. Great student laptop. Boots up in a minute. It is also equipped with a Western Digital hardrive which is a bonus. Most budget laptops come with cheap hardrives which fail under a year. The fan is quiet. The things I do not like about this laptop is the speakers are really low volume and do not sound great, they just do the job (you can always use headphones). Also it does not have a hdmi port. It does have a vga port and can be connected to the tv or monitor by a vga cable. Battery life is great and feels sturdy in hand. Great notebook for daily tasks or student use or first laptop.

    Better than a Netbook

    Posted .

I looked at a couple of Netbooks comparable or just a little more expensive. This laptop was not on display at the Bestbuy but I asked to have it taken from the box for a quick inspection. The keyboard is like my Sony and the screen was at least twice as large as the netbooks. Took it home - standard setup, taking out the things that I don't use, and defrag the hard drive. Set to high performance and am amazed at how fast this computer functions. It boots faster than my old Sony FZ490, its lighter than my Sony, its cheaper than my Sony, and the screen is not that bad. It downloads email and cruises the web with ease. This has been an excellent purchase - only thing that would make it better is if I would of had a Bestbuy coupon! At $334.00, you can't go wrong with this computer. Am extremely happy with no regrets. This is my bedside computer for its light weight and its cool operating temperature. Am not a gamer so not sure how heavy games would operate - but, this is my first exposure to finger ident to logon and it is a cool feature.

    Impressive Performance

    Posted .

I bought this laptop to temporarily replace my aging Toshiba. I didn't want to spend a lot of money since I'll be replacing it in a few months. What I like...the security features, has both finger, and facial recognition software. Has multiple USB ports, the performance is great on regular programs such as Excel, Word, and games. Sound is great for music. What I don't like...internet pages seem load a little slower than I'm used to, but it could be my internet connection. And I haven't been able to get the sound work on some videos from the internet. This also could be user error.

Great laptop for students and the frugal

    Posted .

I find that I can play games rather well, surf the Internet, and at least the battery lasts 3 hours. It's fast, runs Windows 7 Home Premium, has 4GB of RAM and is only $329+. It has an ample screen, and comes with Microsoft Word Starter. It's just the right combination of price and functionality. A big plus is it doesn't get too hot. I can easily surf all day with this laptop on my lap. This is perfect for a student or anyone on a budget that doesn't want a laptop with cut corners.

Great Computer for Price, but Some Issues

    Posted .

This is a great computer for a low price! The battery life is excellent, four and a half hours! The display is great for the price and the keyboard is great and easy to type on. The battery and fan don't get very hot, so it is easy to use on your lap. However, the computer is sometimes slow, slower than it should be with 4GBs of RAM. The fingerprint scanner is slow and doesn't always respond the first time. The computer blue-screened on me once already, but it hasn't happened since. Other than the few problems, a great buy for anybody on a budget who wants a good computer for a great price!

    Great laptop for everyday use.

This is a great machine for everyday use. 90% of its use is for e-mail and web browsing. It plays HBO Go and Netflix videos in HD fine as well as YouTube. It's fairly light as well and has a very small AC adapter.

    Wonderful!

    Posted .

So I originally had two netbooks, a Dell Mini 1010 and an Acer Aspire One. Both of those burnt out very quickly on me so I decided I needed an upgrade! I looked around for nicely prices notebooks that were nicely sized as well and this was the main one that came up for me. I decided it sounded like a nice investment and so I followed through. I've had it for about two months now and I'd have to say, it's just amazing! The AMD processor does a pretty nice job of running games and provides great graphics! This computer is also great with regular internet browsing and media playback with it's wonderful sound and picture quality! I highly recommend this computer!

    Excellent Value!

    Posted .

I purchased this for my Mom, who is a first time computer user. I found it really easy to setup for her and an excellent value! I am an internet 'junky' and this would be a computer that I would be really happy purchasing for my own use. The screen is clear and the keyboard feels solid. It is fairly quick to startup and while surfing the net. It is highly recommended and a great value for the money!

used to be dedicated to toshiba, now it's lenovo

    Posted .

For the price this is an awesome deal. My last laptop was a $500 Toshiba that i bought it a year ago. The lenovo 575 is $200.00 cheaper and by far better quality. The first thing i noticed after the cool design was the keyboard. It's a new typing experience and all in all this computer rocks. I would totally suggest this PC to a friend.

I've had it since it came out, it's great.

I really enjoy using it for work and play. So far i have had no issues what so ever but for those people who browse the web, they need to get proper protection and defragment their hard drive often to avoid any slow down problems.

Great Laptop, especially for the price

    Posted .

This Laptop does everything I need and has a lot of good features. Really good value. As mentioned, there is no bluetooth but this is no issue to me. I'm not a gamer and use this primarily for email, internet, etc so I cannot talk to speed or display quality.

    Great laptop for the money

I'm really pleased with this inexpensive, yet quality laptop. The display is large and crisp. The fingerpring scanner works great and has freed me from having to remember all of my various passwords. It runs great, looks sharp and I'm very happy with my purchase. So much so, I just bought my wife one. You can't go wrong with this one.
