Cant beat it for a couple hundred bucks

However, I previously had a laptop of the same brand and similar specs, and I did not have any problems with it. This laptop is so slow. All I use it for is browsing the Internet, and it takes a long time for pages and tabs to open. The mouse also periodically stops working. I have to let it sit for a couple minutes before it works again. I contacted Best Buy via online chat, but the rep said I had to bring it into a store. Though unhappy with that response, I didn't take the time to go in and not even know if they'd help. I am not saying to stay away from the brand, but this specific product is horrible and a complete waste of money.

First Laptop

The keys are flat and do not graduate upward as did my previous computers. I'm aware that my age (80) plays a role in these issues. However, because I'm pleased with all other functions of my laptop, I'm sure I'll become more proficient using the keyboard.

Sadly, I hate it. The Shift key on the right is over to the right one space. In its place is the Page Up key. That alone makes this a money-wasting frustration! My fingers get sore using it. It also seems slower and the C key doesn't register well (10 tries usually works) if if am breaking my fingers to stretch to the shift key to make a capital c. Just seems like an ill-thought up, clunky hunk o' junk.

Posted .With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

I was disappointed in it's quality after set up. The sound is horrible, and the screen brightness is dull. I thought I had a defective unit at first because it's so bad. The speed is decent for minimal usage. The charging port is a little concerning because you have to force it to plug it in. I don't think I'll be satisfied with this long term. The deal is the only thing stopping me from exchanging it. I still have a few days to decide though.
