It comes with 4 GB of RAM, which is low adequate. But to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM, you have to throw away the 4 GB stick and buy an 8 GB stick because it only has one RAM slot. This is stupid. An 8 GB stick is twice as expensive as a 4 GB stick. The MOBO should have two slots.

Great bang for the buck

Would have been 5 stars but the RAM is not easily upgradable, since there is no empty slot. You can upgrade to 8 GB, but you need an 8GB RAM stick, you can't simply add 4. If 4 GB is enough, then this is a good laptop.

However the only problem I have is that the memory ram is low which makes getting things done a little slow. I just upgraded my memory ram to 10GB and it alot better now. Batter life could be better. Soild laptop for basic work and browsing

Decent computer for the money!

Also he wanted to be able to get online. This suits both purposes. However the keyboard is spread out a little bit too much and it's difficult to reach both shift keys. Had to buy an external keyboard and mouse to adjust for this problem. Other than that I'm happy.

Posted .With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

It is quick and works well with VLC and other applications being used. Battery life is good and the unit is easy to transport.

With regard to learning your way around Windows 10, you may want to try YouTube.com (just type that address in your browser address window). There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free.
