Great Laptop for Speed and Growth

    Posted .

This Lenovo Laptop made by IBM (or is it now IBM/Apple) is a new name for me, but my son likes a more expensive model he uses. It has been difficult to find such capacities in a 15.6inch Laptop with up-to-date speeds in the input/out ports. 1Gbs LAN, 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN, a unit with CD-RW, and TouchScreen, with Windows 8.1, and the minimum DDR3L 4GB memory still expandable to 8GB. That is a lot of improvement in speed and capacity for me at $350 freight free. I could not be happier to find such a needed upgrade with such good support and warranty. I would certainly recommend this one to a friend, if it can be found.

    Great Laptop for the Price

I bought this Lenovo B50 touch from the "open box" items because I needed a moderately powerful notebook at an affordable price. After a little over a month of use I am satisfied with the money I spent. My only real disappointment was to find that there is not a USB 3.0 port on the laptop. The machine does lag a bit during boot and again at the windows login, even with 4gb RAM & 4 cores (according to Intel Here > http://tinyurl.com/muzle5s )

    Outstanding Value

I have bought a lot of Lenovo products in the past six years or so and this laptop is one more example of great value with a feature packed product. The latest OS with Windows 8 and dual Intel Pentium... Not Celeron, or AMD... Pentium... Touchscreen with updated power cord that help eliminate poor connections. I could go on... The bottom line for me is, go grab one while you can find them. Best bang for the buck. And I shopped around quite a bit. Even being confident in Lenovo from the beginning. It's still my nature to shop around. No regrets with this purchase...

    Takes getting used to

The laptop computer takes a lot of getting used to. Admitted, i made a huge leap from Windows XP to 8.1, but what i don't get seems to eventually come to me. The touchscreen seems to work most of the time but has a tendency to operated in it's own deals at times. Also < find the keyboard very difficult to deal with the close placement of the keys and makes typing/entering/scrolling a task that doesn't need to be.

I absolutely love my laptop it runs great, and is very convienent and fast! Also i am a procrastinator and the speed and accessibility of the internet and calandar apps are helping me stay on track and organized! However, I was dissapointed that it did not come with a starter pack of microsoft office of any kind so I had to purchace one... also, it took a little bit of time playing with it before I was able to figure out how to do anything with the windows 8.1 system... now I am zooming around on it and loving it! Definitely a good buy for school, business, or personal use!

    Nice for the price

I picked this up at a local Best Buy for my 10 year old daughter who starts 5th grade soon. I don't mind letting her use my laptop but I'm also in school and we tend to need a computer at the same time. This Lenovo suits her needs well and she will be able to complete homework with her own computer now. I do A LOT of research before I buy anything and found this Lenovo was highly rated and reasonably priced. So far so good!

    Good Product Easy to use

I purchased this computer for my wife. She was very reluctant to use Windows 8, and did not really want to upgrade. However, I decided it was time and remembered the problems that I encountered with Windows 8 and knew that a touchscreen would help with the learning curve. I was right, she maneuvers through Windows 8 without any issues at all and really likes her new computer. She had some trouble transferring the information from her old system, but it had nothing to so with her new computer. She is very happy and it works great for home use and for work.

    Nice Computer, Poor Touchscreen

    Posted .

I was looking at the Yoga 2, but was not sure I wanted to go to an 11 inch screen or lose a CD/DVD drive and LAN connection. When I saw this computer with the price point I was very happy and decided to get one. The one thing I really wanted was a touch screen since I have a tablet and smartphone. When I got it home it was easy to set-up and was working great, after about an hour the touch screen started to become unresponsive at times and only got worse. After looking for tips (there were not) and checking for updates and finding none that worked I took it back and exchanged the computer to try it again. After about an hour of running it the same issue happened and I took it back again. I then got the Yoga 2 and this has worked out much better. Overall the computer worked very well and having a full keyboard and all the drives and connections was a plus. However for me the must have was a touchscreen. Best Buy said they assume a firmwear update will come that will fix this, but they have no idea when that will happen. If a touchscreen is not a must have and you would like down the road and need a computer now this is very good computer for the price, however if you want a functional touchscreen I would look elsewhere.

Really wasn't expecting this much computer for this price; it's really an excellent buy. And the touch screen is a good addition for Windows 8. The trackpad isn't as easy to use as an Apple trackpad, but it's pretty good.

Best Touch Screen for the price

I've used this laptop for about a month now and have had no problems. Some of the reviews I read we're not very promising but in fact the laptop performs much better than what the reviews say. My son uses this for his schoolwork he hasn't complained yet

Great Budget Laptop, Too Much Extra Software

    |
    Posted .

This laptop comes with a lot of junk software that has to be deleted. I typically work with Chrome and it runs a little slow from time to time. The touchscreen is a nice amenity but at times the touchpad stops working and I can only use the touchscreen. I simply restart when this occurs and it usually fixes the problem. I would say that it happens about once a week.

Touch screen is really nice. Would like to have play/skip keys for playing music. Fast startup. Wish that I had the option of sound enhancements like on my previous laptop (I.e. pitch shift, loudness equalizer).

I like it a lot it's not the most expensive computer yet it is touch screen. The only problem I have is that the mouse is a little glitchy and doesn't always work correctly. Besides that it gets the job done.

Overall great computer for students once loaded with the programs they need. Good value for performance. Pentium technology is a bit old, but still provides what is needed for Internet access and web browsing.
