I thought this would be much better than my old Windows XP...it is better however this PC is very slow at loading. It's not the WIFI or FIBER NETWORK because we have many computers at work and they all work great and are fast. Just disappointed at the loading of everything.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre 310s desktop is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its AMD A9-9430 processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 3.2GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.5GHz. This configuration has 4GB of DDR4-2400MHz RAM. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. If this describes your computing needs, the IdeaCentre 310s desktop would be a good choice for you. If you are experiencing slower speeds, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

Purchased for home computer programs loaded easy. Could not get wife's gmail account to load. Plugged in my external hard drives with 15 years of family pictures and error comes up saying I need a 3.0 USB. 10 year old computer had them this does not.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaCentre 310s desktop. Windows 10 is compatible with gmail internet based email. Here is a link to instructions for setting up gmail on a Windows 10 computer:  https://www.groovypost.com/howto/add-gmail-email-windows-10-mail-app/. The IdeaCentre 310s has two standard USB 3.0 ports. They are on the back. They are the standard USB ports with "Blue tongues" within the port (USB 2.0 ports have black tongues within the ports). USB 3.0 devices are backward compatible to USB 2.0, so your USB 3.0 external hard drive should work within any of the USB ports on the IdeaCentre 310s. Be sure you have software installed that can read the picture format of the files on your external hard drives. Be sure the picture format is compatible with Windows 10. Also be sure there are no viruses on the external hard drives. You may want to scan the drive with your anti-virus software before trying to open the files on the external hard drive. Lenovo

I bought this computer for basic web browsing and to store family documents, photos, and videos. Existing reviews made this computer seem like a good value option for a non-gaming computer. After basic windows configuration and installing Google Chrome, a reboot would literally take over 5 minutes. After entering my password - I stared at a blank screen for 3 minutes waiting on the desktop to appear. I get this is a value machine, but that is unrealistic... and this is before adding programs/apps and loading up the drive with files for storage. On top of this - it was very slow to respond. I would click an option in settings and literally 15 seconds later the window would open and the computer acknowledge the action. Perhaps I got a bad one... but this is going back to the store... today! Based on my experience - I would look at other options for your value PC. FYI - Not claiming to be an expert - but I am no beginner on PC's. I am a programmer, work on a work PC all day, and have built multiple machines on my own. Sometimes the issue is between the keyboard and the back of the chair - but this aint one of those times. Best of luck!

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaCentre 310s desktop. It should not take 5 minutes for this configuration to boot up. Be sure you have configured Windows 10 according to the directions offered during the initial activation. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down.
