Kids first laptop (prompted by Minecraft summer camp). Runs Minecraft (Java and Windows 10) with no problem. Haven't run any Steam platform games on it, but feel confident it would be fine with a lower frame rate. Decent battery (about 2.5 hours), love the SSD for accidental drops, and the numerical keyboard is quite good.

Keyboard is nice. The hard drive is a standard 2.5" SSD and it's not the fastest, but the laptop has an M.2 PCIe socket that supports NVMe, which is capable of far greater read/write speeds, so I'd recommend upgrading the drive.

There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free.

You are lucky to get 2.5 hours unplugged. I tried all the tweaks recommended by Lenovo but they didn’t make a difference. Even Lenovo support said no more than 2.5 hours should be expected with a 2 cell battery. I’m disappointed because all comments I found from Lenovo prior to purchase said to expect 5 hours. After purchase that was clarified to be the standby time.

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this Laptop is no longer sold but i wanted to let you guys know that it is upgradable.. you can upgrade the hardtdrive and the Memory RAM. it has 2 Memory cards, 4GB 2400MHz, one soldered and one card.. you can upgrade the card up to 16GB. i installed took out the 4GB and replaced it with an 8GB to make it 12GB. just make sure that the clock speed of the new card is 2400MHz as the old one. I also upgraded hardrive. it has a SSD 128GB installed and has an empty drive to install a card up to 256GB SSD. i replaced the 128GB SSD drive that was installed and added 1TB, 2.5in 7mm, left the extra drive empty as i did not need any more space

It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal. If you need more storage space for this device, there is a 4 in 1 SD card slot. It is compatible with SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC smart cards that can be used to add more storage space.
