Hard drive is small but adding a portable drive makes it work better.

The charging port didn't last a year... Have to hold it just right to charge. A couple months ago the screen started going black... sound still on, but have to restart to get screen back. When starting the computer, half the time get a static screen and have to start over. Now...the whole thing just shuts down for no reason...and have to try to start 3-4 times to get past the static screen. The fan (or something) was making a noise at times... but now 'roars' and gets very loud sometimes. It is not overheating... yet. It stays in my room... one adult user...do not travel with it. I like the computer... but it has not held up. For the price, I expected for it to last much longer. It must be something with the case, as it shuts off when I move it a little... and the fan gets loud if I move a little. Everything still works well...but it is is dying fast. I just ordered a new laptop...

To maximize battery life, first adjust your battery saver settings. Next, to maximize battery life, be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Here is a link to some tips for finding out what is draining your battery:

I dont mind it NOT having a Hard drive (i have a nice external). I dont mind it NOT having a CD drive (i have a nice external). It feels quite fast & solid. Hope to last 5 to 8 years for me.

Great laptop

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for my small business for almost 2 years now and it's been great with one exception. About 6 months in the fan started making a terrible sound then died. Lenovo was great with warranty but unfortunately since it's my only business laptop I can't afford the downtime to send it to them to fix and have mailed back. That said the laptop is extremely easy to work on so I replaced the fan and while I was in there upgraded the ram to 12gb and added a additional 500gb SSD for storage. It can now handle Photoshop with any issue with disk space or ram. Before the ram upgrade I was using 90% ram for Photoshop now it's closer to 60%
