With so many Chromebooks in this price range feeling overwhelmingly cheap and low quality, not only is the Duet a breath of fresh air but a steal as well. I purchased this little guy as a bit of a 'sidegrade' from my aging Chromebook Plus, and since then I haven't looked back! Even my 2020 iPad Pro is collecting dust! So far, performance has been excellent when you keep in mind what this little tablet is. The ARM processor in the Lenovo scores roughly double that of the previously mentioned Chromebook on synthetic benchmarks, and so far I've experienced minimal issues or hiccups (for you phone geeks out there, the processor falls in somewhere in-between the admittedly ancient Snapdragon 810 and 835). It zips through everyday tasks such as word processing and web browsing with ease using 4-5 tabs, though video playback through the browser can make it sweat a little with some minor hitches. If you're looking for something to do heavy lifting or lots of multitasking, I'd look elsewhere. Build quality for the price is absolutely nuts as well. The tablet and keyboard sections of the device feel great, and I feel they punch decently above their price class. Especially the tablet, which I find to be very pretty and premium feeling! To note, people with larger hands may find the keyboard a bit uncomfortable and cramped, but those with glove size M and below should be totally fine. However, the back kickstand and the plastic trackpad feel a bit on the flimsy side (though I wouldn't exactly use the word cheap). But at the end of the day, what are you really going to complain about? It's less than 300 bucks and didn't "need" to be bundled! I'm just happy the extra accessories were included at this almost suspiciously low price. Android apps also work like a dream for the most part. Most basic apps such as Youtube, Gmail, VLC, Minecraft, ect. seem to work just fine without any trouble. But if you really like to tinker, it is very easy to unlock Developer Mode to mess with 3rd party apps such as Youtube Vanced, which work wonderfully. The only issues I encountered were the Netflix and Hulu apps streaming only in standard definition (non-HD) quality, which is super lame but is a Chrome OS issue not specific to this machine. The Disney Plus app works a treat though, and either way non-HD playback issues can be resolved simply by using the internet browser instead of an app. Screen and speaker quality are also definitely great for the price. Many people have bashed the speaker quality online, but I actually find them fairly decent with better-than-average mid and high notes. Admittedly, bass and lower frequency reproduction is completely non-existent, but I feel like this could be helped if Google implemented an in-OS volume equalizer. Come on Google! The built in screen is a high-resolution, full-HD, IPS panel. Which is again, slightly unexpected at this price point. Viewing angles are excellent, though my model in particular seems to have some very slight color and brightness uniformity issues. This seems to be more of my trained eye than anything else, as no other people have noticed any difference on my unit. Just figured I'd mention for you picky folks out there, but I'm chalking this one up ultimately as a non-issue and more to do with the screen technology itself. Especially since I've seen much more egregious cases of this on $1000+ devices. Also: if you plan on transporting this with the keyboard attached... Be absolutely sure to buy a screen protector, as my tempered glass shield has already accumulated quite a collection of fine scratches after less than a month of use! Hey, if you're still here thanks for reading! At the end of the day, I couldn't recommend this tablet/ 2-in-1 enough for anybody looking to spend less than 400 bucks on a Chromebook. It runs cool, silent, and very quick as long as you don't throw too many things at it. I can see myself using this as a workshop companion for years to come... Or at least until Lenovo or another manufacturer makes a worthy successor!

This is a great little device. Build quality is excellent. Screen is bright and colorful. Performance is snappy on the browser, and even better with Android apps/games (never quite realized how an ARM processor on a Chromebook can make such a difference compared to an Intel in this regard). Google Stadia games run great as well. Keyboard is quite good, despite the cramped punctuation keys on the right side, and the magnetic attachment is very secure. Stereo speakers are a bit tinny but plenty loud. Battery life is supposed to be great as well, although I haven't had it long enough to put it through its paces. Lenovo advertises 10 hours on a charge, but many reviewers have been observing 10-12 hours, depending on the activity. The included charger is not a fast charger, but that's ok -- I have plenty of fast chargers lying around at home that are compatible. Software support is terrific -- this is one of the first Chromebooks to have a guaranteed 8 years of Chrome OS updates (through June 2028), which is up from 5-6 years for previous Chromebooks. I think Lenovo did a a bang-up job with this device -- one almost wonders if it was a mistake (given the astonishingly low price) or if the higher ups in the company just let the Chromebook division do whatever it wanted to do without really paying attention. It really is the spiritual successor to the Pixel C (or what the Pixel C was supposed to be in the first place -- a Chromebook), and is now an excellent option for those bemoaning the lack of good Android tablets.

Superb Chromebook for School Age Kids

I purchased two of the Lenovo Duet Chromebooks (to replace two aging ASUS Flip C100P Chromebooks)--one for each of our school age boys. While the ASUS provided a great starter Chromebook experience to introduce our boys to a blend of web and android apps, it was starting to noticeably age and programs were not working as well anymore. When I heard about the Duet earlier this year, I immediately started to follow the news and preordered two from BB at the end of April. After all the wait and hype, I was not disappointed. For my kids, this is by far the best value for the money and gives them everything they need for virtual school and beyond. Prior to having the Duet, our boys would use a mix of their Chromebooks and Amazon Fire Tablets for school/apps/media consumption. Now with the Duet, they are no longer interested in their Amazon Fire Tablets and use their Chromebooks for all school/apps/media consumption. The screen quality as well as the included keyboard and kickstand make this a great device for them and relatively easy to use. As a parent, having controls that are easy to set up and maintain over what they can access on the web through supervising their accounts with Google Family Link makes the experience of a Chromebook highly preferable to either pure Android/Apple devices (and I own and use both). In addition to the Lenovo Duet Chromebook, we purchased two of the HP USI Rechargeable Styluses (directly from HP as they are not yet available through BB) to augment their Duets. I'll also briefly mention that access for a line-in audio only through the one USB-C port does not hinder our ability to use the devices as our boys use reasonably priced Bluetooth Headphones (EasySM brand from Amazon) which pair and stay connected without any problems. The combination of the Duet, the USI Stylus, and Bluetooth Headphones is an amazing blend that all work well together. So glad that we found the Lenovo Duet Chromebook and I would highly recommend it for those looking for both a great value and high quality Chromebook for their kids!

Got this for work to do my scheduling on so I don’t have to use the junk work computer. But I actually am using it a lot outside of work too. Watching shows and doing some gaming on it. Figured out how to stream my Steam games to it and I can play right off it with an Xbox controller. Definitely don’t regret buying this at all.

Bought it while it was on sale and definitely worth it over the Surface Go 2 and base model iPads. I already own a Dell XPS 9300 for everything I do and this was going to be a secondary device for media consumption and note taking (Ordered the Lenovo USI stylus straight from their website) and for what I paid, this is an amazing device! The build quality is so good I didn’t think it would be that good, it’s super light when you want to use it as a tablet and does so comfortably. The keyboard is decent not the best but it was included for free where as Microsoft would charge $100 extra for their keyboard cover and like I said before, I already own a Dell XPS for everyday use. Battery is amazing on this thing it will definitely go 12 hours straight and the battery indicator will sometimes tell me I have 15 hours or even more on a full charge! Haven’t tested it because I always plug it in at the end of the day but I wouldn’t doubt it. The display is also very nice for the price (Clamshell Chromebooks around this price have those terrible TN Panel displays). I previously owned a Samsung Chromebook Pro before upgrading to my Dell XPS so I was very familiar with Chrome OS and the interface that’s been made for tablet mode work really well and multitasking is a breeze. All in all this thing is definitely worth all the money, for similar priced traditional clamshell Chromebooks, you generally get worse performance and less battery life and those terrible TN Panel displays that strain the heck out of your eyes. This is a tablet first so even though it only has a mediatek processor, it has been proven very capable because it doesn’t need a whole lot of power. I definitely suggest this if you’re looking to buy an affordable tablet or Chromebook because this checks all the boxes and Google is going to be supporting updates for the next 8 years so it will definitely last!

I've been using this Chromebook, believe it or not as my mobile gaming device. Google Stadia and xCloud work very well on this tablet/2in1. The screen is bright and very colorful. A really solid display. The tablet itself is light, but when you add the back cover stand and keyboard, it definitely at least doubles the weight. However it more than manageable. You'll be able to game (android apps) and again with streaming services very well. Watching videos and browsing definitely perform well. The cons of the device is the 1 USB C port, but if you have a usb hub, you should be fine. If you can, go to your local store and buy the tablet. If you opt for shipping from best buy, plan to be waiting much longer than necessary. My tablet was just 25 minutes away and UPS continually failed to deliver the Duet, even after tracking showed it was on the truck to be delivered. Unfortunately because of the delay, I wasn't able to take it with me on a recent trip, but instead had to pack my 5lb Zenbook Pro Duo. Overall, it's a great device, performs well, with 8 years of the device getting updates, the keyboard and back cover kickstand, this tablet is an incredible deal! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this device to family and friends!

This is my first chromebook. So far so good. I bought it because of the hype and Lenovo products are dependable.

Disclaimer: I have never owned a tablet, so some of my comments may be over/under critical, or just general to tablets. Will probably update this review after more time with it, but these are my initial impressions. First off, I bought the Duet because I have been wanting an alternative to my laptop that I could take on both fun trips to check/write emails and watch movies on flights, but also work trips to get light work done and give presentations. Going to list the pros and cons I’ve encountered so far, but you can skip to the end for my overall thoughts. Pros - Really nice and bright display - Super light tablet without the keyboard and cover I was hesitant about the forced style choices (Blue accent and cloth cover), but I actually really dig it in person. Really good looking device. - The sound is not nearly as bad as I expected. I use bluetooth headphones nearly 99% of the time anyways, but it’s good to know the sound quality is decent without them; just don’t expect them to be loud. - Quick responsiveness and no real lag with apps (although I’ll get more into that in the cons...) - Love the auto unlock feature when your phone is nearby The boot speed is very fast, makes me second guess whether I actually turned it off - The keyboard is fantastic. Nothing will ever beat my Thinkpad X1 keyboard, but the quality here is great and it’s very easy to type on despite the size. Surprised to hear that people are facing issues with it. - Battery life is solid. We’ll see how this changes when I actually use it for its intended purpose, but around the house it has barely drained. Cons - The cover: It is surprisingly heavy. Feels as if the weight doubles when you put it on, and you really need it on most of the time since it has the kickstand. Really wish the kickstand was just part of the device, but I guess it’s a nice protection. - The weight in general: When everything is connected, this guy weighs 2 lbs ( just 1lb less than my laptop). It’s not terrible, but it’s surprising. I appreciate that the tablet is < 1lb, but after using it for a bit, I really feel like I’ll have the cover and keyboard on it more often than not. - The camera: I’m not planning on really taking pictures with it, but I was hoping for a bit more from the front-facing camera since I might use it for video conferences. - Apps: This is where we get into maybe general Android territory. Some apps behave very strangely in landscape mode. When the keyboard is connected, Instagram crops to portrait mode which... looks silly. If you take the keyboard off and enter tablet mode, the Duet refuses to rotate to landscape mode at all. With Facebook, the app does enter landscape mode, but you can’t scroll from the left side of the screen, only the right. Most apps work normally in either view, but this is a little annoying. - Display resolution: This is issue has been better described here (https://chromeunboxed.com/lenovo-chromebook-duet-extended-display-broken-usb-c/), but long story short, the Duet limits the resolution when your try to mirror the display on a larger screen. When I tried to test showing a presentation, it was noticeably boxed (see pictures attached with comparison to my laptop) which makes me hesitant about using it for work presentations. Overall: Let’s be honest, in the end the price is fantastic and makes many of the cons acceptable. The Duet is a solid little device that does exactly what I need it to do, albeit with some limitations (the most important of which can potentially be fixed with software updates?). Great display, portability, speed, and functionality for what I need out of a 2-in-1.

So far this is a good tablet for the price If you can get it on sale it's a steal. The tablet is kind of slow sluggish at times. But for the most part it still works fine battery life is great the screen is fantastic. And the best part is you get a great keyboard that comes right Out the box. And for the price the tablet is well built. But the speakers are very low even on max volume That's my biggest problem hopefully Google fixes the bugs later on.

I've owned two Samsung Chromebooks (the one released right after the original chromebook CR-48), which I thought were amazing, two Toshiba Chromebook 2 chromebooks which I thought could not be bested, better sound quality than the Samsung, higher resolution screen and faster. But the Lenovo Duet is even better. The duet is really awesome! The only thing I'm surprised by is that I don't see the "Chrome Circle" logo anywhere on the device. It's powerful enough to let you run Android Apps side by side with Chrome. You can split screen, type on the keyboard and use the trackpad, or use the touch screen with gestures or a USI pen (I haven't tried the pen yet but I have one on order) It comes with 4GB memory and 128 GB of storage. I have Disney+, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Zoom, Google Meet, Hangouts, Libby (Library reader), Kindle, and other apps installed and they work great! I can run them split screen side by side with chrome. Casting your desktop to a TV and switching between screens is a breeze! The screen can do a resolution up to 1920 x 1080, but comes enlarged by default. 1920 x 1080 is really small on a 10.5" screen. But don't let the size deter you! This device is really great! All of the normal ALPHA and NUM keys on the keyboard are the normal keyboard size. some of the keys, (backspaces, tab, search, [, ], ', / are about 2/3 the width of normal. The arrow keys are smaller too, but for typing, the keyboard is perfectly adequate. I'm writing this review on it now. Other folks have reviewed the device and spoke highly of the build quality. They are not kidding. Very high quality! To use an HDMI monitor, get a USB-HDMI adapter. For thumb drives, get an adapter that supports USB-A as well. Some dongles support multiple options at once. I haven't tried a mouse yet because the trackpad works great. I may get a Logitech 535 bluetooth mouse for my wife, but she seems to do well with just the trackpad. The speakers don't have a lot of bass, but you can definitely hear them. It's a perfect device that starts quickly has 8 years of support and easy maintenance (no messing with operating system upgrades), all for under $300!

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Duet Chromebook. There is one USB-c 2.0 version port on the Duet, with video out capability. To connect the Duet to an external HDMI monitor you will need a USB-c to HDMI adapter. The 10-1-Inch (screen size measured diagonally) IPS screen has a resolution of FHD (1920 x 1200). Lenovo

I just got it and so far so good! I haven’t really cracked into all the features yet but in my opinion it’s the best bang for your buck! If you’ve had it in your car for a while and your not sure if you should pull the trigger; I’d say go for it! you can always return it if it’s not for you LOL. But I’m definitely keeping it! The picture is great; quality is great; it comes with a snap on cover with kickstand a keyboard and it also comes with a headphone adapter... Bottom line I’m happy!! And I was really nervous about making the purchase but I’m glad I did.
