Great laptop, I dub it Learnovo

    Posted .

This is a great laptop. I'm old enough to know what a floppy disc is, but young enough to like mix CDs, so I wish that it had a disc drive. My mp3s are sad, and flash drives are boring. Props for Bluetooth, neg props for not being able to figure out how to use it. The reset button was hard to find, but worth it. I spoke with a really nice customer service representative from Lenovo who helped me locate it after I (gasp) forgot my password. Classic! Windows 8 is okay. Windows 10, I'm sure, will try harder. GeekSquad, you confused me with this antivirus business, Webroot, but I'm kind of used to that. I think I might be able to get a refund but I'm too lazy to call you right now. Basically, this is a great laptop, and the touchscreen is really awesome. (I have only really had fun to play with MS Paint so far, but I know if I download PhotoShop I'll have a great time). Lenovo wins for now. I'll miss you, Asus :(

    Quite a good computer

It is still taking time getting used to Windows 8.1 but this computer is very good. I enjoy cooking at home and have a couple hundred recipes on my laptop and with this computer in stand mode I was able to open my recipe on the screen and prepare a meal without the keyboard getting in the way. This also reduced the risk of spilling something on the keyboard.

    Overall good but need improvement...

    Posted .

I've had this computer for about 4 months now and its pretty well built. The hardware under the hood bring me all my specified needs ranging from watching movies to gaming. Gaming stands pretty well with graphic dense and processor needy titles like Watch Dogs and Fallout: New Vegas but when it comes to battery, it falls apart. The fully charged battery will give me about 4-5 hours, at most, with normal use. So, If you plan on gaming, I suggest that you have this sucker plugged in. All in all, its a good computer, it's just that dang battery is what gets me. If your looking for a good multimedia computer this is one that I have to give 2 thumbs up to. But if your looking for a computer with longevity, I suggest that you look elsewhere. And one more thing, the build quality of the laptop is top notch. The hinges for the screen to base feel solid and have no indication to its being flimsy in any way. It gives you the sense that you have a sturdy computer that will last a long time. Unless you're like me and have accidents often.

I love this laptop. I have beat it up over the last 5 years and it's still working. Windows system upgrades however have caused issues with some programs not being run properly anymore. But as for the laptop itself, it's a great product.

Can Handle what is thrown at it

    |
    Posted .

With the large HD and plenty of ram this laptop has been able to handle 99% of what I have put it through. While not a "gaming" laptop it can handle Skyrim on a high setting and doesn't shy away from heavy loads. The touchscreen is responsive and works well with windows 8.1. Which as I have worked with is not as bad an operating system as I have previously thought. It does take some getting used to finding your way around the different menus and windows especially when using the touch system but it allows for easy use of the computers kickstand like mode. The one drawback is the F keys are a secondary key requiring use of the Fn AND whatever F key you need. Too long didn't read: A good computer for almost all tasks. A satisfying mid level gaming laptop with some frills and a backlit keyboard for ease of use in the dark.

    Great Laptop

The touch screen is very easy to use and for certain apps much better than the keyboard. It's like having a computer and tablet. The speakers are surprisingly loud. My daughter loves watching movies on it. The aluminum construction is nice. The computer feels very durable.

    Lenovo Edge 15

    |
    Posted .

I've had this laptop for about a month now, and I love it, except for 2 issues: 1. Internet connection issues: It has problems connecting to my wi-fi, which Lenovo Support tried to fix, unsuccessfully 2. Program Not Responding errors: I'm getting these on a brand new laptop that I've installed minimal programs on, and with the specs, I should not be getting these. Lenovo Support also tried to correct these unsuccessfully. Overall, this is an outstanding laptop. Love Windows 8.1 with touchscreen. Would hate it otherwise. And the backlit keyboard comes in handy also. The specs on this machine are nearly unmatched in a PC.

    good notebook

    Posted .

the Lenovo Edge w 8gig ram and core i7 processor is plenty fast. I saw where someone was upset that the speakers are on bottom of the laptop but it doesn't effect the sound. I also realize why the speakers are where they are. If you are watching a moving in the "movie watching position" the speakers are now perfectly behind the monitor and the surround sound, sounds great. The 1Tb harddrive is a excellent start. Backlite keyboard, full size keyboard, display is all excellent. The only downside is the size of the laptop 15.6 is pretty big but I'm a techie and I need a large screen when I'm working on network devices, firewalls and such.

    Solid Laptop

    |
    Posted .

Solid construction, it feels like it will physically hold up for a long time. Though it's not the cheapest laptop I don't like buying things cheap and having to replace it in a couple of years. It has a nice touchscreen which I have found myself not using very much since I bought a wireless mouse with it. I will say that it wasn't smooth right out of the box. It was a buggy and I had to do 2 factory resets. But now it's running very nice. I will also point out that it's not the most compact, so I would not recommend this laptop if your constantly traveling.

Solid well-built hybrid laptop, funky touchpad

    |
    Posted .

This is a solidly built Win 8 laptop/tablet hybrid. Plenty of power from the dual-core i7 processor. Nice RAM amount (though would have preferred more), and acceptable standard 1TB HDD. Plenty of speed. Keyboard and touchpad are funky depending on how you are positioning the unit while typing. Cursor frequently jumps around on its own while typing and highlights blocks of text that can be easily deleted if not watching carefully. Really need an add-on mouse or trackball to use thing efficiently. Screen is beautiful. Can't wait for Win 10 update.

    Not the one for me

    |
    Posted .

Despite seeing reviews of battery life of 5+ hours, I've been lucky to get about 3 1/2 I like the keyboard layout, but don't like that my palms touch the touchpad and cause the cursor to jump. Fingerprints show up very easily on the case. Have to constantly wipe it down. Two things I was not aware of when I purchased this device: 1. Non-removable battery 2. Speakers on the bottom of the case. Come on! There seems to be plenty of room on top or on the case near the screen. I will most likely will return this unit.

    A Fantastic Laptop

    Posted .

I had great customer service in the store, the clerk gave great detailed information about which laptops would best meet my needs, as well as telling me about other features I'd find useful, such as the fully flippable touchscreen and the ability to use this as a tablet, as well. The system works great, boots up wonderfully, the anti-virus from Geek Squad works great and I've generally had no issue since my purchase.

    LOVE IT!

Although its super high tech and windows 8 which I'm not familiar with it's a jazzy piece of technology. For me not super user friendly just quite yet but believe with time it will be a breeze! It has everything one would need and it's a Lenovo, duh! I love the sleek thing size of it and that it's a yoga style board. The touch screen is a bonus. I'd recommend this and any Lenovo product.

    As good as HP Envy

    |
    Posted .

I have a 17 inch HP Envy and needed a second laptop. I really prefer the Lenovo's key feel to HP's. I am used to a desktop, do word processing quite a bit and prefer the definite clear click feeling when pressing on the keys. Even though the Lenovo was only 15 inches I didn't really notice because the screen resolution was so good. Also the internal software interface was much more user friendly to me than HP's. I would have kept it but really need an external CD drive and this Lenovo did not come with one. It also did not have Blue Ray which I like for movie watching. But it was a great computer, I really liked it and would recommend buying it. I had not been familiar with the Lenovo brand before buying this one and was pleasantly surprised and impressed.

    Early Review

    Posted .

I bought this computer about a month ago. It has definitely met my expectations so far. 1.)Screen is bright, easy to use by touch screen, and looks great when playing movies or streaming videos. 2.)Keyboard is very sensitive but that could be just me. My last laptop I had to push keys quite a bit harder, so to each their own. 3.)Speed is excellent on this machine. Pages load quick and it doesn't bog down with multiple pages open. Also, haven't had any problems running multiple MS Office products at the same time. 4.)One down side is no CD drive but I knew that going in. So not really a con but worth noting. Lastly, I have no idea if this will last as long as my last laptop(8 years) but I sure hope so.

I bought this computer to duo for a school laptop and a gaming computer. It does great for running most of the programs I need. I cannot get it to run my league of legends game and have not looked far enough into the problem to figure out why. All in all it is great for duo computers.

    Great product

I have been very pleased with the laptop. The touchscreen works well, and the computer is quick with loading various programs. Just a couple things to be patient on: the setting for when the laptop is in tablet mode (when you have it folding backward) - sometimes it's not quick to switch back to laptop mode, and then the keyboard and trackpad are really sensitive. I think I just need to change the setting on the track pad, but you barely have to push the keys on the keyboard which takes some getting used to. The back lighting is nice on the keyboard as well. I've been really pleased so far with the product.

Seems to be what my son needs for college.

A high school graduation gift for my son, it has all the requirements mandated and suggested by his school. It also includes a graphics card for his video gaming. He seems pleased with it so far and, although he hasn't started school yet, this computer along with MS Student Office seems to have everything he needs. Kind of on the "high end" of pricing for what I looked at which is why the 4 stars. My son likes the slim design as well.
