    Really Nice All-in-One

    Posted .

Love this new All-in-One PC. Took me a while to get used to Windows 8 (I upgraded from Vista, so I was definitely a couple of generations out of date). PROS: The screen is outstanding, the touch sensitivity is fine and the wireless keyboard and mouse seem to work well and have good battery management. I really like that the various connections are in the monitor stand, so that I don't have wires running up to the back of the monitor. The processor seems fast enough for my use. CONS: The unit came with no owners manual, "getting started" guide, recovery CD, warranty card or written materials of any kind in the box! Maybe I'm a couple of generations behind on this too, and I've been able to download a user manual over the web, but it would have been nice to have some materials other than the power cord, keyboard and mouse in the carton. I was flying blind in setting the unit up. Maybe those things just got left out of mine - who knows? It also could use another two USB connections, as it has only two.

    good desktop

This computer is a nice all in one. It has a touch screen to make interacting with it a little more enjoyable. The screen is large so its easy to be able to see everything on one page. I like how this computer can be in a flat position so if kids wanted to play a game on the touch screen you don't have to worry about it being knocked down. The keyboard and mouse being wireless is also a nice touch. From my experience so far, the performance has been a little inconsistent. There have been moments where the computer has had some lag. Nothing major but it is something that has happened from time to time. I mostly attribute that to Windows 8.1. I'm sure there will be updates in the future to get those bugs out. Overall, I think that it's a nice computer.

All-in-one combined with wireless is effecient

Ease of set-up (wires, cords, etc) definite plus. Combined with wireless mouse, keyboard and printer, it is more streamlined for operation. I like the ability to move and enlarge items and text with a swipe. Speed of operation is also a plus.

Good for the price I got it for

This was bought for an older couple to use and it seems to be working out well. The touch screen, though not always reactive for small things, makes it easier to use than with the mouse. I really like the unit for what it is, and expect that within a year or two the same thing could be had for several hundred less than even the sale price that i paid for it. Still it should be at least a dual core I5 for the price. But for surfing, Skyping, Emailing, and similar pursuits it fits the bill well.

    A whole new world....

This machine and new software is a whole new world of learning experiences. I do find it strange that the response time while keying information is ridiculously delayed. Opted for wireless keyboard & mouse use, to negate touchscreen keying, but still find it sluggish. Hopefully productivity will improve as we learn to use both hardware and software better. Plan on this system lasting a long time, so went with the quality recommendation.

    This is a great PC

This is a great desktop PC system. The touch screen if very responsive and the large screen makes doing various tasks easy and fun. The adjustable stand is great and I think a must have with a touch screen. Depending on what you're doing, you want to be able to adjust the screen accordingly to make using the touch screen the most effective and comfortable. The stand on this system does all of that. The speakers and dvr read/write are built into the base of the stand along with four USB 3 ports. This is my first time using Windows 8. Very easy to learn and use. I would highly recommend this machine.

Great computer for what most people will use it !!

Bought two of these for a small business operation - connection to a wireless network and printer. Easy set up. Multi-10 point touch is awesome, yet the real value of that on such a large screen ( pinch and expand) may not be fully realized. Love Lenovo product and feel they get what is needed for everyday users of their product. This is not a screaming fast system, but most users will not even notice that. The hard drive at 5400 is a little slower than what I would have liked. I would have liked to see a blu-ray player rather than a DVD RW, but even that media is going by the way of online content and downloading. I can't see this feature being used much with everything being web enabled. Awesome for Win8 - but for first time users Win8 - it will have some getting used to days. Once you "get it" it is a breeze. For a machine that will look great, perform well, have flexibility and adjustment for desk top users, you cannot beat the value when you can get this unit on sale.

    An excellent all-in-one computer except . . .

    1) very poor sound detracts from the otherwise great system 2) ROTTEN SERVICE at the Natick (MA) Best Buy. I am a novice at electronics. The computer was bought "out of the box" which meant ( but I was not told) that it came without a booklet. The "Geek" who presented it to me was not interested in being helpful - he just wanted me out of the store. When I got home I realized that I did not even know how to turn it on. The employee offered ZERO information or help. Shameful behavior.

    Took awhile to appreciate

I wanted to wait before I posted my review, I've now been using this computer for 3 months. At first I was weary of my purchase and almost returned it, however, for the sale price I got it at, it's a great value compared to other systems. I was surprised by how heavy it is, all of the components are in the very large base so i wonder why the screen has to be so thick and heavy? There was a ton of bloatware on the system, mostly free garbage stuff from Lenovo that did nothing but slow the system down. Startup was taking close to 5 minutes. Now that I have deleted those items and tweaked the programs used during startup, the system is much faster. After 3 months I am finally happy with my purchase. Videos play great in HD, the sound is decent, and I have no problem running multiple apps at once. Windows 8 sucks, but I won't judge this machine on that. Using this PC was like breaking in a nice pair of shoes, took some time but now I'm comfortable.

Excellent all-in-on computer for the family. Performance is very good for everyday tasks on the web, MS word/excel, simple games, etc. Built-in speakers are barely acceptable.

I love the Lenovo all in one Desktop, it has an easy set up, touch screen, and I especially like how you can fold the screen all the way down flat to play a game of air hockey, I think that is so cool.

I love the fact that the screen is large and it's all in one! The touch screen makes it nice as well. Still having trouble getting use to the new windows. It's nice to have the geek squad get it all setup to just use. I do wish this one had the battery option so I didn't have to stay plugged in all the time.

Assisted in purchasing the Lenovo IdeaCentre A series all-in-one computer for my budget-minded mom who upgraded from a Windows XP system. This computer is a step above its competition with the latest touchscreen technology coupled with next-gen processing architecture and large reliable storage capacity - all requirements for her photo editing and sharing pastime. This computer is well suited for multimedia, web browsing, daily email and social networking, and of course anyone looking for an interactive and immersive experience. Mom and family are extremely happy with her new PC from Best Buy!
