We needed an update and this suited us just fine. The old one was able to play CD's ,but I guess that's old school now. I have plugged in a speaker cable but have not tested that yet.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaCentre 5i Desktop Computer, model number 90RJ009GUS. This model does have a built in 9.0mm CD/DVD±RW drive. The front panel of this IdeaCentre 5i slides to the right to reveal the CD/DVD drive slot on the left side of the front of the computer. You will need to remove anything within the ports/slots on the right side of the sliding front panel before sliding it to the right to reveal the CD/DVD drive slot. I had this computer for less than a week and the wireless card went out. Returned and got another brand. I know this is probably just a defective item, but the wireless card that comes in it is notoriously bad. I, of course, found out after I purchased it.

In advance, this is a lengthy response, however we want to give you as much information as possible to help ensure your issue is resolved. If you are experiencing lowered Wi-Fi connectivity, please check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 11 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 11, including those BIOS files and drivers controlling Wi-Fi. You can accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on “Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 11. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If you get a message saying that there are no new updates available, you can directly update/reinstall the Wi-Fi Driver within Windows 11 Operating System on this Laptop. It froze up immediately. The only way to use it was to shut it down and restart. The Geek Squad came out to fix it, but it continued to freeze up. I returned it.
