More like mac book security. Has touch screen and finger print. 12gb ram and 512gb SSD for $530 you won’t beat. I’ve never used Lenovo or ryzen. But so far it’s awesome. I’m very happy with the price and what I got. I searched for weeks looking for the best performance to cost. And this hit it out of the park. It’s like above average in all the categories. Only knock might be battery life. Sometimes if I’m gaming it might last 3-4 hours. Otherwise while working on stuff it can last over 6 hours.

I use it for school & personal. I code & it handles it just fine. So even if you have to do some "hard work" on here, it'll be good.

The combination of the screen size, 12 GB memory-512 GB SSD makes it great for me. I've got all the memory and speed I need without having to pay much more for it. I'm needing to adjust to Windows 11 with this PC so that makes something additional to get used to. I really wish it didn't have the numerical keys on the right side because I don't use them and the keyboard wouldn't seem so crowded, but I'll probably get used to it. This isn't a big deal either but it only took a couple days for the finish on the cover to get tarnished with my skin oil. Never had that problem before.

Windows 11 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 11 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Excellent Home Office Laptop

My older laptop was extremely slow after being damaged by a security check point employee. This laptop has really nice speed with the Ryzen 7 chip and good memory. Good keyboard as well. The screen looks really good for this price class. No ethernet port is included. So, I needed an adjuster. The webcam is solid at 720p. It works well in low light. I sometimes get a little grain in the background. I highly recommend this model.

Not a fan of Microsoft set-up, but take it out of S mode and it works a lot better. A back-lit keyboard would be preferred over the touch screen, but everything else makes up for it. Upgrade the RAM to 16gig and take it out of S mode and you get a pretty powerful little laptop, all things considered - battery could be better, but not a deal breaker for me. If your looking for a fast, functional laptop, this is a good pick!

This model configuration ships with a Integrated 42Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 9 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 11 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://websiteforstudents.com/how-to-find-what-is-running-in-windows-11/. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 11. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. I must say, I'm pretty impressed with it. Quite snappy when opening programs. Overall, it's a solid purchase if you're looking for a new laptop. The one thing I feel Lenovo dropped the ball on was the ram. Soldered 8gb.... Why?! To make it as thin as it is? Save money on the build? My next move is to upgrade the 1 slot that isn't soldered with an 8gb stick to max out the laptop to 16gb. It would have been a perfect laptop if the capacity was capped at 32gb.
