I recently purchased the Lenovo Ideapad 1 15.6” Full HD Touchscreen Laptop from Best Buy, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. From the moment I took it out of the box, the laptop impressed me with its sleek design and the stunning Abyss Blue color that really stands out. The performance of the Ryzen 5 7520U processor is excellent. It handles all my daily tasks effortlessly, from web browsing to document editing and HD video streaming. The 8GB of memory ensures a smooth and fast experience with no lag or slowdown. The quality of the Full HD touchscreen is impressive. The colors are vibrant, and the images are sharp, making watching movies and shows a real pleasure. Additionally, the touch functionality adds an extra layer of convenience, which I find very useful for quick navigation or making presentations. The AMD Radeon graphics card also does a good job, allowing me to play some of my favorite games with decent graphics quality. And with the 256GB SSD storage, booting up and loading programs is incredibly fast. I have plenty of space for all my important files, with room to spare. In terms of portability, the laptop is lightweight and easy to carry around. The battery life is also quite good, allowing me to work for several hours without needing to recharge. In summary, the Lenovo Ideapad 1 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a powerful and affordable laptop. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone needing a reliable machine for everyday use. Great value for money!

I love that it is fast, not heavy weight and it has a sleek design. The display is also great… lest I forget the battery lasts a long time before I need to recharge it. Another feature I enjoy is the touchscreen which gives me an additional way of using my Lenovo laptop. I love this laptop and I’m happy about my purchase!

    Honest review, it is okay

    Posted .

Honest review. Most of these reviews are for a gift card sweepstakes so they are untrue. This laptop is okay. When watching videos such as YouTube or Netflix it struggles in full screen. It frequently will black out half the screen whenever the UI pops up (example the scroll bar on YouTube that pops up at the bottom of the screen to fast forward). It is okay for school; processor can handle a fair amount of stress. It does tend to overheat, which can be annoying since the fan is pretty loud, but it does a great job of cooling itself down if you give it a break. The keyboard took me a second to get used to, but that was just a personal thing since I am used to mechanical. Volume is great and doesn't peak like other budget laptops when at full volume. Touch screen is reactive so no complaints there. Despite what is advertised, this laptop CANNOT handle gaming at pretty much any capacity. If you are looking for something to play games on, I would personally recommend financing the Xbox x through Citizen's. They have a great deal that gives you the Xbox and game pass ultimate for 2 years and its only about 40 a month. I like the color and design, although I wish the build quality was just a little higher. Really my only real complaint with this laptop is the display. The backlighting is horrific. Any pressure applied to the screen forms huge purple streaks throughout that sometimes won't go away for a couple of minutes. If I am watching anything that has dark lighting it struggles with details. For example, when watching The Batman there were multiple lowlighting scenes where I couldn't make out what was happening. The only other minor complaint is the battery life. When put under moderate stress (for example listening to a podcast and researching/writing an essay that requires multiple tabs to be open) the battery will only last you 4 and a half hours. And if you were to put even higher of a workload the battery will last at best 3 hours if that. This can be frustrating since I am using it for schooling and have to bring their charger with me. But it's really more of an inconvenience than anything. I'd prefer to save money and bring my charger along with me, but it is diffidently something to think about if that isn't the case for you. Overall, I'd recommend this product for the price. I was able to pick it up for 300 with the black Friday sale. But for the 500 it retails for I would recommend maybe the Acer Spin 511, or another form of Chromebook. Chromebooks really dominate the budget laptop market right now, but if you're looking for a windows-based laptop this is a close second. Pictures added show the mentioned issues with half the screen not working when YouTube UI is shown, and issues with uneven backlighting that create lowlighting detail issues.

Hey, Benny. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing dissatisfaction with various aspects of your IdeaPad. Apologies in advance for the extended response, as we want to fully address your comments. To talk to what can be immediately addressed, first with functionality, to try to resolve this, first, we recommend ensuring you have the latest software by checking for updates, as this could correct the issue. To do so, first, open the Settings app > Select the Windows update tab > Select the Check for updates button. Next (if switched out of S mode), open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button. If after the available updates are applied and the system restarts, yet the issue persists, in-depth troubleshooting will be necessary to fix the problem. We recommend contacting Lenovo Support for further assistance. Next, with battery life, by default, the system will tend to give more speed when needed, which can sacrifice battery life. If you want to squeeze out more battery life, we recommend users utilize the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled to adjust settings related to power and battery performance (to access relevant settings, open Vantage > Device Settings > Power). Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words. Hopefully some this will improve your experience. We have noted all of your feedback and the perspective you shared, and we appreciate your time taken to do so. Lenovo

The Lenovo Ideapad 1 with its 15.6" Full HD touchscreen is a solid choice for everyday computing. Powered by the Ryzen 5 7520U processor and 8GB of memory, it handles multitasking smoothly, while the AMD Radeon Graphics ensure good visuals for casual gaming and streaming. The 256GB SSD provides fast storage, keeping your files and applications readily accessible. The Abyss Blue design gives the laptop a sleek and modern look. The touchscreen adds convenience for navigation and interactions. One downside is the BitLocker security feature, which can be confusing and difficult to manage for less-technical users. This might require some extra effort to understand and set up properly. Overall, the Lenovo Ideapad 1 offers great performance and style for everyday use, though the BitLocker security setup might be a bit challenging for some.

This computer has solid performance for a great price (I got it on sale $360 + tax). I wouldn’t pay the list price of ~$550 for this though. I had a hard time getting the machine out of S Mode but reinstalling Windows fixed it for me I already have a workhorse desktop for gaming and music creation so my use case is just general web brosing and simple gaming I am able to run Minecraft, Old School RuneScape and Civ 6 easily on this machine. I tested Overwatch with all low settings and got 20-30 fps. If you’re looking to play shooter games get a different machine Overall very pleased with the performance for the price. My only nit pick is the USB-C port doesn’t handle charging

So far so good. The computer is very sleek and I like the size of it. Touch screen works amazing. Speed quality is great at the moment, I will know better once I’ve started my school classes. The display for movies is amazing. The battery quality is actually really good even though I’m currently just working on some side hobbies. Usually go for HP but this has been the best investment out of past laptops.

This laptop gives you the best of both worlds. Feels like a tablet version of a laptop. Has everything you would want and need, especially if you like having a number pad like i do. The touchscreen is so helpful and a great feature. Awesome laptop if you can get it on promotion/on sale. It is also very lightweight and very portable! Only feature its missing is a backlit keyboard if you need it. For me it is a battery saver.
