Microsoft requirements nearly caused return

This is the second Lenovo we have purchased in a year. Previous one fought mail set-up for a while, due to Office365 limitations. New one defied all attempts to set up mail on non-Microsoft system, which was because Microsoft has decided to limit your options as a "new feature". Ended up replacing the included Office365 with Office 2010 to get it to accept our server. THEN I had to spend several hours disabling O365 from trying to over-write the (licensed) older version, because it kept disabling the (working) email. If you are willing to use JUST Microsoft email, this may be a better option that it was for us. But we use our own email system, and Microsoft would not play by the rules anymore. If the person it was for was more technically inclined, it would have made an excellent Linux laptop. Would I recommend it? For the average "I just want a Windows machine" user, yes. For the average Linux user, probably, although I did not test reformatting it. For someone with special requirements that conflict with Microsoft's vision of how to do things... No.
