Customers are positive about the IdeaPad 1's performance, ease of use, ample RAM and storage, lightweight design, and long battery life. Many appreciate its value for the price. However, customers are negative about the screen quality, citing issues such as washed-out colors and grainy resolution. The overall experience appears to be positive for most users despite this drawback.

Functioning-wise it's been a solid device but the hinge has failed and the screen breaking after 8 months. Very disappointing as we have it in 2 rooms of the house and we are not rough with it.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15” FHD with Ryzen 5 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a budget-friendly laptop without compromising performance.
The Ryzen 5 processor delivers smooth and reliable performance, whether I’m multitasking, streaming, or working on office projects. Paired with the Full HD 15-inch display, the visuals are crisp and vibrant, making it great for watching videos or working on creative tasks.
The laptop is lightweight and portable despite its large screen size, making it easy to carry around. The battery life is impressive, lasting me a full workday without needing to charge. It also stays cool and quiet even during extended use.
The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the precision trackpad is responsive. With plenty of storage and memory, this laptop handles daily tasks with ease. For students, professionals, or casual users, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 offers great value for its price.

Great Little PC, Especially When on Sale!

I was in the market for a good but lower priced tablet/Chromebook/laptop, when I stumbled onto this as part of Black Friday deals. This PC laptop is great for an entry-level sale price. There are other near similar models, so be sure to check the specs, especially the RAM and processor type.
Advantages of this version of the PC while on sale were:
- The Ports: 2 standard USB type A ports, HDMI port, standard SD card slot, 1 USB-C port, and an 3.5mm AUX headphones jack.
- 16 GB RAM (many others and tablets at entry price points tend to be only 8GB).
- Mid-ranged AMD Ryzen 5 7000s series processor.
- Lightweight (looks heavier at a glance). It is even lighter than my work laptop!
- Has Windows 11 Home in S mode, which easily can be upgraded to Windows 11. This takes some additional PC resources, and slightly shortens the battery life (although variable, I can still reliably get this to report over 12 hours of battery remaining on full charge battery lengthening settings and minimal use).
- A number pad on the keyboard.
- Starts up when lid is opened, even when PC was shut down. Neat feature that saves added seconds with the already fast startup.
- Looks and feels great when using it!
- A fair sized 256 GB SSD storage drive.
Potential considerations or tradeoffs compared to other similar models:
- No touchscreen.
- Is a standard clamshell laptop.
- Graphics/display seem normal at the base level, and display clearly with the AMD graphics card.
- Screen is larger; but portable-conscious individuals may want something smaller.
- I am concerned about the survivability if traveling as lightweight as it is. However, seems comfortably durable for standard home use.
- Uses a brick + AC adapter with reasonable cord length for charging.
- Windows 11 is missing some minor functionality like Screen Recall (my research points to some storage drives being too small, so the 256GB SSD must fall under that category).
Shoutout to the Best Buy staff at State College, PA, for going above and beyond to find this exact model on Black Friday when only a few were left in their inventory.

For your consideration, I did get this laptop WELL below MSRP.
You probably are too. There's a reason for that. If you read the other reviews you will think this is a piece of hot lead people paid money to be forced to eat on a cruise in international waters. I would rather watch that than EVER look at the screen provided with this computer. THAT BEING SAID, this is an AMAZING piece of equipment. Just plug it into your TV with an HDMI cord. You probably have an extra one laying around. If you get a HUB with an ethernet port and a portable Blu-Ray player, altogether you've got a literal home theatre you can take with you places. The speakers are good, you get a full keyboard, and let's be real if you're gaming on this you should have gotten a PS4 or an XBox and that's your fault. If you're editing videos or photos, plug it into something. You're not editing photos on the go, let's be real, and if you are just use hex codes, grow up.
It's lightweight, fast, battery lasts a long time, doesn't overheat, and I'd rather eat a lit cigarette backwards with my eyeball than look at the screen but I'm an American and I own a television. They're literally giving them away to spy on us and it's amazing because now someone has to watch me watch high definitio... ANNYWAY
Great laptop, would definitely not shoplift one though.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15” is a budget-friendly laptop offering solid performance for everyday tasks with its Ryzen 5 7520U processor, 16GB RAM, and 256GB SSD. It handles multitasking well, boots quickly, and provides decent battery life of 6-8 hours, making it ideal for students and professionals. However, the FHD display lacks vibrancy, and 256GB storage may feel limiting for users with large files. Its lightweight design adds to portability, though the plastic build feels budget-oriented. Overall, it’s a good choice for basic productivity and casual use but not for heavy-duty tasks or content creation.

A Budget Laptop That Doesn’t Feel Budget—Fast, Sle

This Lenovo IdeaPad 1 surprised me in all the right ways. I picked it up expecting a basic machine for everyday use—but what I got is something that genuinely holds its own in performance, style, and reliability.
The Ryzen 5 chip paired with 16GB of RAM handles multitasking like a pro. I’ve been using it for work—running spreadsheets, video calls, and streaming music all at once—and not once has it lagged or struggled to keep up. The SSD makes everything feel snappy. Boot-up is near instant, and app loading times are buttery smooth.
What really impressed me is how lightweight and portable it is. It’s perfect for on-the-go productivity but doesn’t compromise on build quality. The Abyss Blue finish looks modern and clean—definitely gives off more premium vibes than the price tag would suggest.
Battery life holds strong through my workday, and the full HD display is crisp and easy on the eyes for both typing and media.
This laptop hits the sweet spot: not overloaded with fluff, just fast, functional, and exactly what I needed. For anyone looking for value without sacrificing performance, this IdeaPad punches above its weight.
Would I recommend it? 100%.

This midrange computer offers excellent value for its specifications. Priced competitively, it features 16 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD, and an AMD Ryzen 5 7000 series processor, making it a solid choice for everyday use. Manufactured by a reputable brand, it ensures reliability, though the build quality feels slightly less premium. Its lightweight design adds portability. Overall, it's a great buy for the price.

Bought this for a good price on black friday. The screen has a bit of glare, but other than that I have no complaints. It has a lot of memory, storage, and the speed is great also. I’m using it to play a few video games, and also for work.

Bought as a gift and very pleased with it!
The good: Great amount of memory. Fair sized SSD. Full keyboard with number pad on the right, big plus for me!
The bad: I missed that it was FHD in the description but it's obvious. Washed out black and display. Do not buy this as a Gaming laptop or to watch movies and videos. I don't know if connected to a monitor or good TV if that would be a better view. Finish of the laptop shows every fingerprint.
It's great for the price I paid. It is a good laptop and rendering looks good on the display, just not vivid enough for seeing a quality video on the native display. Be aware of what you are buying and you can be very happy with it. I'm going to say I would recommend it, but I would definitely educate my target audience on the specs.

I picked this up on black friday because it had a decent processor with a good amount of RAM. It doesnt seem too slow, however graphics acceleration seems to be on the low end. Running a live wallpaper or videos in browser will stutter, and drop frames from time to time. I think the thing that makes this laptop unusable to me is the fact that it has a non-IPS TN LCD screen. No matter how you look at it, colors at various positions wash out. If you find a position that seems alright, so much as moving your head will cause the image to become distorted, the proper viewing angle is incredibly small. Even if you are looking at this laptop for general use, I really do feel like you could do better for the money.
