No backlight keyboard, the screen brightness isn't great, battery life isn't great, you have to look at the screen right on in order to see it clearly, and the screen resolution is lower than most new computers. Having said that...the touchscreen is great, and it's matte finish vs the glossy screens that can be hard to read. The lower resolution means items on the screen are larger, which means using the touchscreen is easier. The processor is top notch, and the ram is great! For the price, you have a machine that isn't weighed down by things you don't really need and has all the computing power you need so doing the things you need to do is fast, which is actually all I really want in a computer. I've read that upgrading the ram and battery are possible, which is something I'll keep in mind for the future. When I bought the computer, I was concerned about the screen resolution and battery life. Having used the computer, I will say the battery life is a toss up (pro tip, the lower the screen brightness, the longer the battery lasts...so use it in a dark room!) but I haven't had any issues with the screen resolution and I really enjoy the matte touchscreen. It looks to be a well built computer, it's light and it's fast, so that looks like a win to me!

Posted .Hello. Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 laptop model # 81WE00NKUS. This unit has a battery life of up to 7.5 hours. If you are getting substantially less battery life, please adjust your screen brightness settings. A setting of 100% brightness will drain your battery much faster than a lower setting. We recommend setting the screen brightness to some value below 100% that is still comfortable for you to view. Next be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. It is fast and quiet. Since mostly this computer is connected to a monitor and powerline at home, it is working pretty good. I agree the screen is dull and not vibrant due to TN, but for 350 dollars, I can live with it. The battery is not that bad if I turn on the battery saver. You can't beat the value!

We purchased two laptops from Best Buy ten years ago. One was for our dad who then passed away two months after the purchase. We needed a new laptop for the speed and webcam capabilities. We are satisfied with our purchase so far. We are communicating with our children and grandchildren successful now.

Got it delivered Black Friday and opened it the following Wednesday to give to my parents. Power light is lit but computer doesn’t boot on. Yes it’s charged and plugged in. This is a first for me in terms of ever getting a lemon and it’s my third Lenovo in a calendar year I have purchased. The other 2 were perfectly fine. Will be returning obviously so buyer beware.

Windows startup and apps are very fast when you have this I5, 12G memory and SSD. I would recommend if you look for performance laptop for a student or basic office/tech use and not a 1080p/HD display for entertainment purpose. Laptops with 1080p display including this performance will definitely double this price.

Processing is fast but screen display looks dull and out of colors. Was on sale so no compliants but i wud prefer something that looks more better. Instead of 12GB ram i prefer brighter colors on the screen and better baterry life.
