Good basic laptop for college

Regarding your battery life, this model IdeaPad 3i ships with an integrated 35Wh battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 5.5hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. However I, think I just had bad luck when I had to buy new laptops over the past 2 years for college. I bought this Lenove Ideapad for college, and It basically lasted me only a year. On the Second semester, the camera stopped working, and then the hard drive somehow fried. I looked up other reviews and I saw that the cpus and chips that they put into these computers are basically of poor quality. It is making it very hard to look at low cost options for Laptops if they are unreliable as this one.

The top part of the laptop doesn't close. I have to push it back until I hear a click then it lays flat. This shouldn't happen.
