The Lenovo Duet chromebook is a great little computer/tablet! Great features for the price of some full size chromebooks. Feels well built and is a great size to fit into a standard backpack. Love the colors and design, keyboard detaches and attaches with ease. Definitely worth a look!

Amazing how much is in this for the price.
Does the tablet thing reasonably well for a Chrome device in Android mode.
If you are looking for a versatile and lightweight Chromebook. This is it. I've been waiting for a long time for detachable keyboard on a Chrome. Now my Surface can be retired.

Great tablet for children, for playing games, or for general use. I wouldn't use it as a device for work. I've had mine for a couple of years and it slowed down some. I havent downloaded any big file.

So what can I say about this little cute Lenovo Duet other than it is like the little train that could and does most of the time.
I am gonna start with what you get and it is a lot for the price. You get a Chromebook, a tablet, keyboard and kick stand and you get it all for $299 as I would only get the 128gb version. For $20 I would not even acknowledge the 64gb version. I honestly don't even know why it is made. Anyway, for $299 it is a no brainer.
Let's start with what is good and there is a lot. The screen is bright, clear and small, really small at 10"s. But, that makes it easy to hold in tablet mode. O' dear that tablet mode. We'll get to that later. The keyboard although not perfect it is totally usable. The track pad doesn't feel of top quality it does work well. The kick stand which some like to complain that it doesn't protect all that well is a fantastic addition. And it is a kick stand not a case, there is a difference. The keys are small and tight, but they again work well enough. They whole thing is just very usable. And cute. And at least for the actual device the tablet part is of very good quality, especially the screen. Surprisingly clear and bright. A big win!
And now for the not so good. Over all quality of the additional parts are long term questionable. Mostly the keyboard. It is a bit flimsy and lacks a sense of durability with the track pad. I am hoping that replacements will be available in the future like the Surface Go.....
Speaking of the Surface Go. I have that as well and it really is the closest comparable device as of now despite their price differences and there is when you include the accessories. As much as the Surface Go is limited by lack of tablet offerings so is the Duet. I have not had one Android app work well on it making the Duet a ChromeOS only device for me. Same with the Surface Go, but at least I can run on device programs on the Go. This bottle necks the Duet. The lack of Android app support and a Mediatek processor that get continuously bogged down I honestly don't see it as a Android tablet option or at least a good one with competition like the Samsung Tab s6 lite which performs better as a Android tablet.
Additional notes include okay, but low sounding speakers, only one USB-C input (which honestly is okay on this type of device), fair at best cameras and great tablet build quality as for the materials of the tablet itself.
Final thoughts. If you want a small device that thankfully runs ChromeOS and not just Android with a included keyboard and kick stand with okay performance, perhaps better in ChromeOS with a better than average screen which actually gets brighter than most Chromebooks for a very low $299 (even lower if open-box) price then it is impossible to beat this little cute and capable Duet. On the other hand.....
If you want a quick responsive Android tablet, with great cameras, and high keyboard build quality I would go with a Samsung Tab 6 lite or up coming 11 inch Tab 7 or possibly the Surface Go with the m3 processor both which are much more expensive, but capable devices.
Anyway that is it for this review, till next time thanks for reading.

This sleek and light 2-in-1 Chromebook switches from business to fun as easily as it switches from laptop to tablet mode. Simply detach the plug-and-play keyboard, and you have an ultraportable 10.1-inch tablet ready to entertain you. In laptop mode, the typical size of laptop keyboard is comfortable and responsive, while the 400 nits FHD display is visually appealing in either mode. Enjoy thousands of apps from Google Play Store, superfast boot-up, more than 8 years of automatic updates, and USI stylus support. Get creative. Or get busy.

Great value for the price. The duet works very well as both a tablet and chromebook for basic internet surfing, watching netflix, and drawing apps. It gets about 9 hours of use before charging. Best Buy had the best price ($249.00) for the 128GB Duet.

Honestly, I was skeptical. I am never a fan of Mediatek ARM but this one is really ok! The exterior look is more expensive than the tag price. It is coming complete with attached full size keyboard with trackpad. Very fast booting and running good. It can be very good for school kid to get around and do homeworks. Chrome OS is running very good on it. It is very capable.
I just wish it has another USB-C port. Having only one makes me worry about charging port failing one day... Maybe it will not happen but it is nice to have 2 ports. I already have a USB-C hub so connectivity isn't an issue so far (maybe you should consider getting one if you are buying this chromebook).
I recommend it for light use or for a kid to carry around. Battery life is good. Wifi range is acceptable. It is indeed a solid build device.

What can I say -- this is my favorite tablet. I own an i5 Pixel Slate, and I prefer using this over it for any casual use. It's smaller, lighter, and cheaper -- but that also means I worry less about kids smashing it if I leave it laying around!
Speed is decent... it lags noticeably more than the Slate, but for browsing and watching shows, it's more than fine. The screen is nice, the keyboard very serviceable, and the USI pen works very well.
The magnetic keyboard/backing feel pretty sturdy, and come off and reattach very easily, making it simple to switch from laptop to tablet mode. The buttons are well placed, and the single USB-C is more than enough for the types of activities you'll be using this for.
For the price (especially when you can get it on its frequent sales), this is the best casual ChromeOS device you can get!

The Lenovo Chomecast Duet covers almost all the bases for a convenient tablet/ laptop for daily email, web surfing and internet browsing. The detachable keyboard attaches smartly and has a quality feel. The monitor has a built in soft case and adjustable backrest for an excellent typing position. The Lenovo starts up quickly and the touch screen responds with accurate movement(no jumping). The pros, fast start up, additional memory capability, rugged design, keyboard attachment robust, long battery life.
The cons, so far, non adjustable display brightness, not that great for movies. So 3 stars

You can manually adjust screen brightness on your Lenovo Chromebook Duet, but be sure to first turn off Auto-Brightness Control: The setting you're looking for is in Chrome. Open chrome and type the following into the address bar chrome://flags/#auto-screen-brightness. From there you can change the setting from Default to Disabled. This should disable the auto-brightness. Once auto-brightness is turned off, you can adjust the screen brightness manually by using the screen brightness keys on the top tow of the keyboard, above above the 6 & 7 or by clicking on the clock and adjusting the display slider. If the issue continues, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support for Chromebooks at: 800-426-7378.

I was looking for a cheaper laptop just for email and youtube. This works perfectly for those things obviously not intended for gaming or huge programs. The keyboard feels a bit flimsy and cheap but I mean it's an inexpensive keyboard. I like how it's magnetic to the keyboard so it's very easy to use. Also when you want to just relax on a bed and watch something on it the fact it's detachable and becomes like a tablet is neat. It's basically a tablet with a attachable keyboard and the perks of a chromebook. One thing is I wish it was a bit more responsive and the keyboard/stand was a bit better but overall for what you pay it's a great product imo.
