Works awsome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 3 chromebooks. 1 work chromebook and this is my 2nd personal chromebook. My other chromebook which is a work horse is able to run 2 32" 4K monitors at 60 HZ while multitasking relatively lag free. However it weighs like 6 LB and is really bulky. I bought this chromebook mainly because it is small and in tablet form. It also weighs 1 LB with none of the accessories on it so it is LIGHT. I tried doing the multitasking/screen thing and what I found is that it is able to run 1 of the monitors at 30 HZ with some lag and trouble. Which is to be expected. However this quasi thinkpad keyboard is great. So why exactly would you buy a ChromeOS tablet rather than an Android tablet? Because Android resembles more of a mobile UI and functions more like a phone while this functions like a .. chromebook. But in tablet form. Also in general ChromeOS products tend to get 6-8 years of updates while Android depends mainly on the manufacturer for updates so around 1-3 years. After ChromeOS stops getting updated you have another solid 5 years of use before it becomes to obsolete. With Android you have about 10 years max before it starts becoming unsupported.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Chromebook Duet. There is one port on the Duet: a single USB-C port that's capable of 18W (9V/2A) charging and 1080p 30Hz video output (though you'll get bumped down further to 720p 60Hz on most monitors).

Great device for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to mess around with Linux, but still have access to an os that does not require workarounds to watch DRM protected content (Netflix and Hulu). I chose this one for the price and 2-in-1 form factor and was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and how responsive it is despite being a midspec chromebook. The battery life is excellent, even with heavy use, and the screen is more than sufficient for a device of the size/price range. The keyboard exceeded my expectations but the lack of additional ports aside from the one usb C port used for charging was a minor inconvenience. The speakers are pretty terrible and chromeOS leaves a lot to be desired, the only good part being access to the android app store and Linux application compatibility. If you are getting this device for web browsing, light gaming, media consumption, and light work, it does it like a champ at a great price; just make sure to get a Bluetooth mouse and speakers.

Easy, lightweight, and great battery life.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this device. It is super convenient, cost-effective, and all the components are included (keyboard and back stand). I bought this to carry around when I did not want to take my laptop to work or coffee shops with me. It has a lot of storage for a Chromebook, but I do not think you will even need it based on Chrome's internal storage usage. I am satisfied with the device overall. Things I love: - light weight - Chrome is always a easy and accessible choice - Long Battery life. - Fast! Chromebooks are always lightening fast Things I do not love: - Compatability with apps This is a chrome issue, not a device issue. But for some reason even apps like Google docs, Microsoft word, etc will reroute you to the browser. It makes the app feel obsolete. - Magnetic Device stand is made of cloth and easily shows some frayed wear-and-tear.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Chromebook Duet. This is a Chromebook. It uses Google Docs for office type programs. Google Docs is completely compatible with Microsoft Office Programs and this is a free service through the Google Server. If you must have the actual Microsoft Office Programs, you can purchase Microsoft Office 365 for this Chromebook at the Google Play Store.

Absolutely no contest! Just buy it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just to confirm what others have already said, this is an amazing laptop/tablet for the price. I was comparing it to the latest iPad and the entry level Microsoft Surface Go 2 which would be the Apple & Windows equivalent to this. The Apple cost $30 more but only has 32gb storage and does not include a keyboard. The Surface cost $100 more for only 64gb and also no included keyboard. All have roughly the same size & quality of screen. After going back & forth about 50 times, I just couldn't see why the others would be any better. Speed is close enough to not be an issue, screen & speakers are pretty equal as well. But the Lenovo Duet has 128gb of storage and an included keyboard case. And honestly, performance wise I just didn't see where the other two were worth more, especially when you would need to purchase a keyboard separately. I'm not new to tablets. I've had a couple iPads and used a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 with keyboard. I actually like the Lenovo better! Unless you absolutely have to have Windows or IOS, I can't give you a good reason to spend more for the Microsoft or Apple. This Lenovo is honestly the best deal in a solid tablet I've ever seen.

Amazing Value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, the good: Everything about this tablet feels better than it should given the price. The screen looks great, and the physical materials feel very sturdy and premium. Other Chromebooks tend to have absolute garbage cameras, but I've been very happy with the video chat quality on this device (though I would still use my smartphone for actual photography). Both Chrome and Android apps work very smoothly. It never feels like a slow, cheap device, as most other Chromebooks in this price range often do. It also comes with a kickstand and keyboard bundled in the box. The tablet itself would already be a great product at this price point, adding those for free is just icing on the cake. So despite some small complaints about those two pieces, see below, I can't really complain about them when they're free. The not so good: The kickstand works well and the magnetic attachment is quite secure. I like feel of the fabric backing. However, the kickstand feels like it weighs about as much as the tablet, meaning that having it on doubles the weight. This is unfortunate, as it would be convenient to just leave it on all the time, but you probably won't want to. I also worry about the longevity of the fabric backing, as edges are already starting to fray slightly. I don't anticipate that impacting functionality at all, but still a little disappointing considering how great every other aspect of the build quality is. With the keyboard attached, flipping it open and closed like a laptop does automatically sleep and wake the device. However, there is nothing holding it closed, so when you pick up the the closed device the keyboard awkwardly slides around a bit. Not a big deal, but it would feel much nicer if there were a magnet to properly hold it closed. I also don't love the way they squished some keys, but given that it's on a 10" tablet I think they did the best they could with the space, so I don't really consider this a con. There's also the issue of Chrome OS. It works great, but the UI is still a bit of a mess in tablet mode. The OS comes straight from Google, not Lenovo, so this is kind of separate from critiques of the device itself. It will also surely improve over time, as the tablet will receive updates for many years. One final caveat. My device arrived with a screen defect. I do not fault anyone for this, it happens. However, Best Buy has refused to remedy the situation. So although I do recommend this product, I do not recommend buying it from Best Buy.

Great little Chromebook with detachable keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first Chromebook hit end of life. I needed a smaller Chromebook to work on airplanes as I will travel several times this year. Good points: 1. Small footprint 2. Very responsive for a low level processor 3. The detachable keyboard is great, I actual use this device in tablet mode much more than I planned to 4. Extremely long battery life over 9 hours 5. Very bright screen, can use outdoors in the shade Bad points: 1. Only one port (USB-C) port so you cannot plug in peripherals and charge at the same time 2. No headphone jack (comes with 3.5 mm to USB-C adapter) 3. No HDMI port, SD, or Ethernet ports 4. Wi-Fi resets one or more times daily 5. HDMI output through adapter does inadequate for watching video I purchased a combined Ethernet-HDMI-SD and Bluetooth earbuds to overcome the bad points. With some workarounds this device meets all my needs

best affordable, portable chromebook on the market
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Chromebook $300 or less you can find right now. The screen is a little small (it IS a tablet, really), but it's really portable, has a great battery life, and has much better RAM and larger storage (128GB) than most other Chromebooks at this price range. Best Buy frequently has it on sale for $250, if you can wait until one of these sales, it will really make this worth it. We bought this for my wife to use when she's attending classes in person or traveling, and it works great for both. Some people say you can't do anything with a chromebook unless you have internet, but you can still do most functional things you'd need to do (write a document, work on a spreadsheet or slide show, etc.), and just save changes to the cloud when you have internet access again--just like with a Windows or Mac device. This fits fine for my wife, but for someone with larger hands like myself, I'd grab a regular-size bluetooth keyboard and mouse if you're going to be doing extended amounts of typing.

Great Chrome OS Tablet
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never really been interested in buying a tablet, until I saw the Google Pixel Slate. However, that product launched at a very high price and with not so great reviews, mostly due to Chrome OS being pretty unpolished at the time. It is also a very large tablet which makes it somewhat inconvenient. The Lenovo Duet honestly has all of those issues solved. It's easily the best valued tablet on the market - regardless of operating system. The fact that it includes the keyboard is honestly a game changer, as it is the only tablet on the market to do so. It feels very premium and the display is great. In addition, the ability to use Android apps as well as the full Chrome browser makes this feel so much more useful than any other tablet. I truly think Chrome OS may have hit the sweet spot between Tablet/PC that Microsoft and Apple have been trying to find for years. Chrome OS has also made huge strides and functions pretty flawlessly for the most part. Now, I wouldn't describe this particular tablet as fast, but it's most certainly not slow either. And that's totally OK for the price. I do have some complaints, but I wouldn't describe any of them as deal breakers. The USB-C port is terribly positioned, along with the power and volume buttons. If you use the tablet in portrait mode you will find yourself struggling to avoid clicking the buttons. And in tablet mode, with something plugged into the USB port, it's hard to find a good way to hold it. The cameras are actually not bad... in the default camera app. For some reason the quality in Duo/Zoom is much worse than the default camera app. This may be a Chrome OS issue. That brings me to the state of Chrome OS. Like I said, I think it's doing a great job of achieving what Microsoft and Apple have been striving towards for years. That being said, it's still not as polished as an iPad. Lot's of settings are still missing, animations aren't as fluid, I hate how large the bottom bar is in tablet mode, can't sort the apps alphabetically and some things are still buggy (i.e. using Gboard). I'd also like to see Android widget support. The good news is that this gets updates very frequently for the next 8 years! You can't beat that, even with iPad OS! And considering how much Chrome OS has improved the last few years, I'm sure it will keep getting even better. Also, Android in general doesn't have the same high quality apps as iOS (Procreate, ForeFlight, etc.). There are replacements, but even still, iOS apps usually get features and updates first. Alright. In conclusion, I'm really happy with this thing. A similarly specced base iPad is $430 w/o the extra $160 keyboard that doesn't have a trackpad. You literally can't beat this thing for the price. It's a great tablet and feels a lot more like a little computer when you want it to. As long as you go in knowing it's shortcomings, you won't be disappointed.

Excels at it's price range but not top of the line
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lenovo Duet is a true case of "You get what you pay for" I got it on sale for $212 + tax due to a price match with Lenovo's website. To pay that much and get a Chromebook that runs "most" android apps and come with a keyboard is a steal. While I'd agree with many of the larger publication reviews that it may be the best in its price bracket, there isn't much strong competition in the under $300 category. The Good: It boots quickly and does most tasks without issue. This is a great device for streaming video, educational purposes, and working on documents. While not included the Lenovo USI Pen is an amazing accessory for this. While small and takes some getting used to, the keyboard is very responsive and easy to use. It attaches easily with magnets that are strong enough to prevent accidental separation. The search button is a game changer and lets you launch almost anything easily. Battery does get about 10 to 12 hours of use. Screen is crisp and responds to touch well both from fingers and the USI Pen. I've heard that some video apps only display at 720p, but that's either not true or not an issue. I personally haven't noticed any decrease in Netflix or anime streaming. The Bad: While I haven't had any issues, going from my smartphone to this I notice a slight sluggishness in loading almost anything, including websites. The kickstand is a full cover for the back of the Chromebook. It's nice and sturdy, but it is only magnetized to the back so it slides around. It's not much, but it is noticeable. I purchased a case with a kickstand and don't use the included one anymore. Switching from tablet to laptop mode has some kind of delay, but if you don't detach and reattach the keyboard much it's not a huge issue. Summary: While there are issues here and there it's very hard to rate the Lenovo Duet as a 3/5 average product. For this price it's definitely above average and does everything I need it to do. I have noticed some incompatible games, but productivity and video apps have all worked without issue. I think it's a good product at the full $299 price tag, especially with the included Keyboard. If you catch one of the $249 sales or better, I don't think you'll find a better device for anywhere near that price. While I wouldn't recommend it as a primary device for daily use it's perfect as a secondary tool and travel companion. Note: I have not dropped the device so I cannot speak for its durability in full, but it does feel very sturdy.

||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm retired and just started using an android cell phone last year. I wanted to retire my old windows laptop. I chose this 2 in 1 tablet as it was versatile and under $200. I have been delighted. It's fast, intuitive and has held up well for the last 5 months. I use the kickstand and keyboard when I need to do a lot of typing. The touchscreen works quite well too. I have been able to successfully cast to my android TV. It is light and very portable. The battery lasts over 10 hours.

Liking Tablet/Chromebook combination-great value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say, I'm liking this combination of tablet/chromebook. The keyboard is a bit cramped, but it is fairly easy for me to type on. It functions nicely as a chromebook. The size of the keyboard is expected on this smaller form factor. The much-improved UI in tablet mode is a welcome feature. So far, I've run Android apps with no problems. The performance is good and I haven't encountered much of any slowdowns. The nifty magnetic stand/keyboard is great. Attaching and removing the keyboard is painless. Also the 128GB of storage is a nice plus! Probably the greatest thing about this Chromebook is the price -- $299. Can't beat that.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this Chromebook for a few weeks now. It's faster than I expected and very easy to use. The camera is good and the keyboard works great. I should've double checked the size of the screen being 10.1' because I was surprised that it was that small, but that's my fault. It doesn't have an ethernet port so you can only connect to the internet via WiFi. Also, if you're looking to use a mouse with it you'll need to buy a USB-C dock to connect it, which you can also connect an external monitor to as well if the 10.1" screen is too small. All in all for the price of this Lenovo Chromebook you're getting a very good deal.

Great for the basics!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for about three weeks. I had a few minor issues at the very beginning while setting this up and getting used to it. Now, the only issue I have is while typing and it has nothing to do with the key size - it's the touchpad. Due to its sensitivity, it's easy to accidentally click the touchpad with your palm so the cursor goes elsewhere and you end up typing between random texts. It's also pretty easy to accidentally select a chunk of text and type over that. I have smaller than average hands, so if I'm having those kinds of issues, I can only imagine how it'll be for someone with larger hands. My only other issue is with the number of ports. There's only one (USB-C), so I highly suggest you get a docking station or wireless mouse/earphones. To be fair, I was looking at 11.6" Windows laptops and Microsoft Surface Go 2 to supplement my work iPad/replace my 7-year-old tablet/temporarily replace my Macbook Air. I wasn't looking at Chromebooks until I saw this one. The small size, large storage, keyboard, and price drew me in. I figured I would have to make some minor sacrifices. Plus, I realized that since graduating from college a few years ago, I no longer use my laptop for anything heavy duty. Well, since buying this, my Macbook remains untouched! I love the size and portability! (For size reference: I have a Herschel Nova Mini backpack and while it's a snug fit with the backstand and keyboard due to shape of bag, it fits!) I haven't tried uploading photos from my SD card yet, so if I'm having difficulty with the Duet, I'll probably use my laptop then. So far, the battery life has been good. Of course, it varies with how you use it. The fastest I drained it was watching two movies online (about 5.5~6 hours total) with the screen on full brightness and the audio about halfway or so (not using earphones). For the most part, I use it on and off and can get about two (sometimes three days) of light work and occasional YouTube videos. When I do use it throughout most of the work day, I can comfortably get at least a day and a half. If you have an Android phone, as long as an app is compatible, you can download the apps you use on your phone onto your Chromebook through Google Play Store. I downloaded some of my frequently used apps and pinned them to the app shelf. To summarize: If you're looking to buy this, you're most likely buying it for the size and storage. Just know that with this size comes some challenges. If you can work around that, this tablet Chromebook is perfect for adults who just need something easy to carry and are primarily using this for day-to-day tasks such as: checking emails and social media, taking notes, watching videos, and browsing the Internet. I feel this is a great choice for what you get at this price point!

Solid hardware and admirable performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While not a high end product specs-wise, it performs very well for being such a great value. The keyboard and kickstand are both of very good quality. The keyboard has an understandably cramped layout, is a bit wobbly, and best used on a table. The kickstand is has a great range of adjustments and holds steady. The unit itself looks and feels great in the hands and the screen is bright and clear. Color quality looks very good and the limited gamut isn't a big issue for most things. Overall battery life, both running and standby, is fantastic. It occasionally bogs down after waking from sleep if there are updates it needs to get. Otherwise, performance while browsing or using a few basic android apps hasn't been an issue. It's not lightning quick throughout all that at all times, but it runs steady and doesn't tend to lag or get hung up. There are still some Chrome OS quirks, particularly with the shelf that makes the swipe up gestures a bit more awkward that it seems like they should be. Hopefully that'll get sorted with updates although it's not a critical fault or anything. I'd probably have to give it 5 stars if it had a headphone jack. That's an unfortunate omission.

Overall Great Recreational Chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: -Great Price -Solid Build Quality -Good Performance -Good Battery Cons -Keyboard a bit cramped -Chrome OS occasional bugs Overall if you are looking for a Chromebook for general web surfing or video streaming for a great price, this is definitely one to look in to. The build quality is excellent for a $300 device. The screen resolution is great, with great brightness levels for any environment. Booting the device and general Chrome OS performance is quick with no noticeable lag times. The battery life is solid, I've been using the device all day doing everything from general web browsing, to using microsoft teams and video streaming, and I still have 28% battery life left. There are a few downsides worth mentioning. The keyboard has a few keys that they had to trim the size down in order to fit to the small screen size. It works well for quick emails or small bursts of text, but would be more frustrating to use for longer periods of time or more keyboard intensive computing. Chrome OS experiences a few bugs, mainly when running an app and detaching/attaching the keyboard. Apps that are not optimized for runnning in a laptop mode appear as if you had a phone propped up on the screen, and when you detach the keyboard many of them try to switch to a tablet mode, which usually crashes the app. Not every android app works on Chrome OS devices either, like the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ app. When trying to use it to connect my earbuds, it has to install a secondary app which allows for device updates and communication, which the duet currently does not support. The galaxy buds still connect and can be used as general earbuds, but many of the functionalities that come with it that are run off of the app are lost. This may improve over time though as updates continue to roll out. It may not be absolutely perfect, but for the price it almost feels like a steal. When it comes back in stock, I'll likely be getting another one for my parents to use to video chat with us.

Very Impressed with this Chromebook Option
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have become a great fan of Chromebooks over last few years, and this device looked very intriguing as I was looking for a more portable 2-in-1 option and a tablet if possible. This has proven to be the best of all I was looking for. Very portable and flexible - use with included keyboard or remove and use with just the stand or use just the tablet. 4GB memory is adequate along with overall performance and the Best Buy model that has 128GB is a great bonus (and in comparison to other sellers with only 64GB, it was the best price). About the only thing that could have been added was a small USB-C hub in case you need extra ports but otherwise a fantastic device. Highly recommend.
