Customers are saying

Customers commend the Ideapad Gaming 3 for its strong performance, especially in gaming, and its upgradable RAM, making it a good value for the price. However, some users point to shortcomings in battery life and storage capacity as areas for improvement. The screen brightness and potential overheating issues were also noted as concerns by a few customers. While generally considered easy to use, some users suggest considering upgrades to the power supply and storage for optimal performance.

A decent laptop for the price. Base laptop is good for basic games and browsing only due to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. Laptop is easy to upgrade and good for longevity.

Great for the price, but would be better with more RAM. The only downside is the 8GB of RAM that can easily be upgraded.

Straight out of the box easy to start and use. Replaced a 12-year-old laptop. Much faster. Comes with Windows 11, which is okay, but should be reviewed separately.

    Included power supply not sufficient

I'm surprised to see at the time of writing this review, only one other person has mentioned the CRITICAL issue with this laptop - the included 135 watt power supply is not even close to being powerful enough to power this laptop under load. While gaming, a 3050 ti laptop GPU will draw 80 watts and a 5600h can draw up to 54 watts (taken from PassMark's website). Do you think 1 watt is enough to power everything else in a laptop (display, keyboard, etc)? I imagine the reason no one else brought this up is because they've been either gaming on balanced power mode (not using the full potential of the PC) or because they straight up haven't looked at their battery charge after gaming, but I am losing 1/2 of the battery's charge after playing Forza Horizon 5 for 2 hours. Give it time - more people will be bringing up this issue. I went through the process of talking to Lenovo customer support and tried to reason with them to send me the 170 watt power supply that should have came with the laptop (a power supply they're selling for $70 currently). Of course I was strung along and told "um sir, the 135 watt power supply is within spec for your laptop". Yea, I guess it's in Lenovo's spec to sell an effectively defective product. Even at the sale price of $550 I'm giving this laptop 1 star because when you factor in the additional $70 for the 170 watt power supply (and god only knows how long it would take Lenovo to ship it to you) you're getting into the territory of nicer laptops. Another reason for the 1 star is for the betrayal of my trust and honestly BB shouldn't be selling a product in this condition, which reflects poorly upon them. PLEASE do not buy this product. BB has good deals on other Laptops right now. Get one of those instead.

This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 82K201XCUS, ships with a 135W slim tip, device side, (3-pin, USA compatible, wall side plug) AC adapter/charger, 100-240V, 50-60Hz, which is included with the laptop. This 135W external power supply - AC adapter/charger will sufficiently power this high performance configuration of the IdeaPad 3 15 Gaming Laptop, model number 82K201XCUS, when it is under light to moderate workloads. Under heavy workload conditions additional power is accessed to power the system from the Integrated 45Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery. This will cause the battery to drain while plugged in and charging, but under maximum workloads. To charge the battery back to 100 Percent of battery capacity, lower the workload to a moderate level. If you have questions about your Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Gaming Laptop, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support for additional information at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo
