EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS IT UPGRADEABLE TO 32GB, WITH IT AT 16GB AND I TRY TO PLAY MY GAME IT WILL START TO FREEZE AND OVERHEAT AND SHUT DOWN MY LAPTOP. IF YOU WANT TO USE THIS FOR LIGHT GAMING WITHOUT UPGREADING ITSS A GOOD LAPTOP BUT IF YOU NEED HIGER RAM DO NOT BUY.

Regarding upgrading memory, we recommend consulting with a Lenovo certified technician or a Lenovo Tech Support representative to discuss upgrade options before making any modifications. With the overheating issue, this may be due to incompatible software installed on the computer and ensuring that the installed software is compatible with Windows 11 and the specifications of this IdeaPad Gaming 3. Also, we recommend checking for updates through Windows Update settings. These updates can help resolve issues from operating system bugs to driver software improvements. To navigate there, select start on the taskbar (windows logo) or press the windows key on the keyboard then select Settings. In Settings, select Windows Update, and then select the Check For Updates button. Install any available updates and restart your PC if required. If you didn’t have any updates that required a restart, it’s still a good idea to restart your device to make sure any pending updates are installed. Additionally, check for updates in the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled on Windows devices. And the most powerful laptop I have ever had in my experience with others! But! An old laptop might be best in the first place without game support and not support Windows 11 because it does not support TPM and can support up to 64GB of RAM. We'll see if this laptop can handle this, too (unofficial and unsupported)

First I was like, "okay, just 30 bucks for another stick of ram and we'll be good" Then "oh, only like 190gb of usable storage? Guess I'll spend another 50 for more storage". Shortaly after "no standoff for extra m.2 drive? hope this 8 dollar pack on amazon will fit the bill" Then finally with the power supply issue others are describing, "Okay, just another 90 dollars for a power supply from lenovo or I can risk it on a used one that might not be compatible for 20 dollars on ebay" After all of that, I've decided it's not worth the hassle and am returning it in lieu of getting a gigabyte from newegg for 729 that has a 3060, 512gb nvme, and 16gb of ram out of the box. Oh and they include the proper power supply so you can actually use the thing for it's intended purpose without the battery dying on you while it's plugged in.

This is very detrimental to the usage of this laptop since it has an AMD CPU. In the bios, I later found out that the CPU also took an extra 4GB of ram dedicated to the iGPU, which left only 4GB available to the computer system itself. I was barely able to run any application at a smooth experience. My friend was able to help me to upgrade the ram and adjust the amount of ram used by iGPU and it works perfectly now. I would recommend this laptop only if you are willing to buy another stick of ram and do some adjustments in the BIOS.
