Customers are saying

Customers commend the Ideapad Gaming 3 for its strong performance, especially in gaming, and its upgradable RAM, making it a good value for the price. However, some users point to shortcomings in battery life and storage capacity as areas for improvement. The screen brightness and potential overheating issues were also noted as concerns by a few customers. While generally considered easy to use, some users suggest considering upgrades to the power supply and storage for optimal performance.

The laptop came with some screws and pieces in ziploc bags, so i dont know if it is refurbished or something. The laptop is working great and it looks like new, just the right button in the touchpad you have to click it a little harder

I purchased this laptop primarily due to the price and the decent specs and so I thought it would be an exceptional value. Ultimately in the end, it was returned and I haven’t looked back. For the price of $580, it makes a pretty decent general use laptop. However I found it to be very lacking in regards to performance, especially when it came to gaming. The laptop is entirely made of plastic and definitely has a cheap feel. At the sale price I figured it’s something I can deal with. When it comes to gaming however, this laptop severely struggles to make ends meet. Despite having 4GB of V-RAM (3050TI), it constantly crashed while playing halo on the lowest settings with high res textures turned off. Fortnite also fared a similar faith while running on medium settings. Anything a few gens old like StarCraft and Diablo 3 will run without a hitch. But for anyone who wants a little bit of modern gaming, this will not do you much. The power adapter is an entirely different level in terms of epic fail. The included 135W charger simply isn’t strong enough to power the laptop while gaming on performance mode. It will draw additional power from the battery while plugged in and under heavy load, causing your battery to drain . Furthermore this also creates additional heat (aside from the heat generated by the GPU) causing premature wear on your components. I reached out to Lenovo in an attempt to obtain the appropriate 170W charger that’s needed for this laptop but instead, they insist it’s a optional add on for a cool price of $80. This notebook features a single stick of 8GB ram which isn’t terrible for generic use, but limits performance if gaming. It needs another 8GB stick to maximum on performance from duo channel memory. The 256GB SSD is also on the small scale, and will run up rather quickly, unless you opt to install another SSD or a M.2. Overall, this makes a decent notebook for casual use, but for those who wants a little more performance out of their notebook, I suggest you look elsewhere.

If you're looking for a laptop that does everything reasonably well, without many compromises and a decent price you can't go wrong with this. The parts selection is very well balanced and everything is easily upgradeable, you even get an adapter and bracket for a 2.5" SATA drive. Oh, and the best part is the GPU is has the maximum power budget; I'm really surprised they don't have that anywhere on the product page. It does have two RAM slots of which only one is occupied, so I would highly recommend grabbing another stick so you're running in dual channel mode otherwise you're running at half the effective speed which really bottlenecks that Ryzen CPU. Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great value gaming laptop.

This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Gaming Laptop, model number 82K201XCUS, ships with a Integrated 45Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 5 hours, depending on the work the device is performing and the Power Management setting you are using. To increase battery life between charges, use a Hybrid Power Management setting within the Lenovo Vantage Dashboard installed on this IdeaPad 3 15 Gaming Laptop. Some additional tips for extending the battery life between charges: Set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 11 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://websiteforstudents.com/how-to-find-what-is-running-in-windows-11/. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 11. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your Windows 11 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo
