So far very pleased with this laptop for the cost to performance value. I took the device out of the box and upgraded it to a 1tb m.2 and 16gb RAM (SINGLE slot memory). Build quality- Plastic fantastic. Do not expect anything special in materials, but the hinge is OK for the display and the keyboard has a satisfying feel. Track pad is a little cheap, but large enough to still be effective. But who's kidding, it's a gaming laptop, grab a mouse. Display - Good! Better than I expected. 60hz is perfectly reasonable for the price/ performance (although 120hz is always cool) Color accuracy is right on par from what you would expect from a sub-$200 monitor. I'm satisfied. Gaming- In my testing, here's an idea of how a few titles have run: - Yazuka O - High settings 60FPS - Horizon Zero Dawn - Medium Settings 45FPS - Middle Earth: Shadow of War- Medium to High Settings 45FPS Overall a solid 8/10 for the price. C'mon? $450 for (enjoyable) portable PC gaming, hard to beat. Are you setting any benchmark records? definitely not, but you can get a good experience. A good, plasticky experience.

I like this and believe it was a very good deal for the price. Pros: Adjustable lighted keyboard, SSD quick boot/start up, crisp bright display, audio quality and max volume better than previous laptop (old MacBook Pro), weight and balance. Cons: The trackpad R & L button clicks are not solid (too loose and clicky, if that makes sense), and the BIGGIE... battery life no where near 9 hours (wasn’t expecting it to be 9 hours) but new at 100% charge just over 5 hours is indicated and with light use I’m getting barely 4 hours.

I love this machine - I bought an HP ProBook last year with an AMD processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, I do a lot of Microsoft Office, email, some Zoom telecommuting and play some old games like Civ 3. Well that machine was slow and I didn't like the touchpad, so when I saw this coming up for Black Friday, I was excited. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad for work (have also used HP EliteBooks) and I really like the keyboard / build. Also it seems like I'm constantly working in low light so a backlit keyboard was a must for me. This machine is fast as all heck, looks great, has great keyboard feel (and nice blue backlighting), a decent touchpad and a good screen. It feels and looks very similar to my much more expensive work laptop, but I think it's faster, and that one doesn't have a backlit keyboard. I also like that you can close the camera shutter manually. It plays all my old games on Steam, doesn't run hot / noisy, and meets / exceeds my needs for a work / play laptop.

After having it for a few weeks, now I can give it a fair assessment. It’s a good computer for the price that it was at. Best of the Black Friday deals. Cause lately, any computer put fourth for Black Friday deals are just a tad over garbage. Usually screen resolution isn’t good, Slow hdd and plastic-y. Speakers are garbage. However, this one is worth it for $400. Screen resolution is great. It’s faster than I thought, but that could also be the McAffee web boost software that’s installed helping out. If so, if you choose not to use McAffee after the free trial, the machine might slow down but not much though. Backlit keys look and feel great. Track pad is whatever, but for what this machine is built for, you’ll most likely use a separate wired mouse. Speakers are okay, not amazing. But way better than all the other ones that were on sale. But also can be fixed with headphones. Totally and easily upgradable, which leads to my biggest gripe with this otherwise great laptop. It was marketed as with dual channel RAM slot which one was dedicated for gaming (Which is the only reason why I even bought it, because I already had another Ideapad I bought last year). This is is absolutely false. It’s only comes with one slot. The other part about it, is that even the Lenovo experts didn’t even know what was in the machine. People were asking about the RAM, telling some that it was dual channel. Telling others that the second channel was soldered directly to the board and the other was upgradable. It took comments from a few others that had opened and looked to realize that none of that was true, it was only single channel. Only then, those “experts” finally said that the customers were right. I’ll see and test it more to see if its really worth it since I have till Jan 15th to return it.

I just received this laptop today and have been thoroughly testing it throughout its gaming aspect and overall multitasking workload. Even with only 8GB of RAM you get a really GREAT experience out of this system. I was able to install multiple games and apps at the same time without any lag. Also, the UI is really friendly regarding BIOS overview and the driver updates and easy to access! Whilst gaming on Overwatch the experience was smooth and maintained a constant 60 FPS score without any lag, just some increased heat which should be expected. Overall, the out of box experience is really exciting, welcoming, and surprisingly fast and easy! I would recommend this even for the price it is at (disregarding I got this on Black Friday).

This is either a great gaming laptop or a major disappointment, depending on what you want. Pros: The laptop seems to handle games easily. The graphics card worked well and we saw no lag when playing games at high resolution. Definitely a win on this. The laptop also looks nice. The looks on the outside of the laptop and backlit keyboard is good. The screen also looks good and seems clear. The screen has a matte finish on it, which is good for finger prints. Cons: Lenovo and the BestBuy website claim this laptop gets 9 hours of battery life. It gets no where near that amount. A 1-hour Google Meet video call drains between 30-40% of the battery. I haven't tested it it all the way down to nothing but it seems like it will get closer to 2.5-3 hours of battery life in real world usage. Perhaps if you are watching a video and turn off everything else, you could go longer but we got this for my son to use in college. The gaming capabilities is good but it wouldn't last through his classes, which is the primary reason for purchasing it. If your primary purpose is to play games and you plan to mostly keep it plugged in and want to occasionally take it with you, this will do the trick. If your primary use is for school or work and you need to run it on batteries, you will probably find it falls short unless you can plug it in most everywhere you go.

I just received this and couldn't be happier. This laptop runs all the games I throw at, every recent games runs at a solid 60 FPS providing you don't always max out the settings like Ray-tracing. The IPS panel on this laptop is gorgeous for the price you're paying for. My only small gripe is the single RAM slot this laptop has. It would be nice to put in another RAM along with the 8GB it has for up to 16 but no, you need to remove the existing ram and buy a single channel 16GB or more to get the most out of it. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase and the price I paid for.

I bought this gaming laptop for a backup for my Samsung Laptop. I have to admit, for a backup laptop, this IdeaPad L340 rocks! Easy setup, fast processor for an i5 setup and the graphics are great. As long as you keep it plug in, it gets the job done. Battery life is ok, could be better, but overall, a very solid laptop for under $500.00!

I actually purchased two of these for my daughters for Christmas. I ordered one before Black Friday and because of the limit of one per customer I ended up having to wait until Black Friday to order the second one. These have been awesome so far! Reason for 4 stars is battery life is short. The battery doesn’t last much past 2 hours when my daughters are playing games. They only play roblox, Minecraft and among us. The computers are fast and responsive. Zero lag and they love the large screen. Great picture. Cool lighted keyboard. I put their laptop batteries on conservation mode so that their batteries would only charge to 60%, that way they can safely just leave their laptops plugged in while they play without damaging the battery. This works great for them as they are near power outlet and using them at home anyway. So far these have been great laptops!

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15 Gaming Laptops, model number 81LK01MSUS for your daughters. The IdeaPad L340-15 ships with a 3CELL_45WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 9 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are going to fully charge the internal battery, you will want to switch off Battery Conservation Mode so the battery will charge to 100-percent. If you are still getting substantially less battery life, First, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

My daughter was using my old Lenovo B570 that was about 9 years old. She was having major issues with it even after I added more ram. It was just too sluggish for any online gaming that she did. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a new laptop for her and I was able to score this at the Black Friday price. So far she loves it. It handles her games and general use well. My only complaints are that it only has one ram slot and that it feels a little flimsy. Even when just opening it up the screen flexes. Thankfully it pretty much stays on her desk. I bought the protection plan so if anything happens to it it’s covered. Overall we’re pretty satisfied.

The laptop is great for the black Friday price. Some reviews say this laptop can run in dual channel - mine cannot (its possible there are 2 revisions of the laptop out there). Mine does NOT have onboard ram, it only has 1 DDR4 slot. This slot will hold a single 16gig chip. Also, there is a slot for a 2.5" SSD or mechanical drive but there is no connector on the motherboard to connect the drive....seems poorly thought out. The laptop has NO ports on the right side at all, everything is on the left. Not a big deal but I personally like having USB on both sides. The keyboard is fantastic. Keys have good travel and are responsive. There are 2 levels of a back-lit blue The track pad is "clicky" as others have said but is easy to use and responds well. The screen is great. The colors are bright and vivid. The viewing angle is very good. The thing that I found most shocking were the fans...I play World of Tanks, Black Desert Online, Breakpoint, Division 2(all can be run on max settings) and the fans are very quiet. Compared to my Legion 5, I would consider this laptop is extremely quiet. You do hear them but they are not the normal gaming laptop loud fans. This may be because its an i5 with a 1650? Either way, its nice to be able to sit infront of the TV and not have to raise the volume because of your laptops fans. The temp on the GPU after running about 30 min will hit 71c-73c, the CPU 75c-81c - I do not use a cooling pad Temps monitored with Core Temp and HWMonitor Pro That being said, I purchased this laptop as a less expensive travel laptop so I wouldn't risk damaging my legion on trips. I didnt expect it to compete with the legion - I was upset that the ram cant be setup in dual channel mode and I was annoyed by the limitations of only having 1 drive HOWEVER this laptop runs quiet well right out of the box. For the price, Im more than happy with the performance and build quality.

Aside from the tragically small SSD, this computer is performing much better than my expectations. My kid wanted a gaming computer but I didn't want to throw out a bunch of money for a 6 year old's laptop to play Sims 4, Roblox, and Among Us... We both got what we wanted. We even installed Ark Survival Evolved on this thing and it looks great. I'll be putting in a larger SSD after the manufacturer's warranty is up and am using a small external SSD for bigger games like Ark that she won't play often. For the money, this is a great beginner's gaming computer.

I bought this laptop during their Black Friday sale. Let me tell you, I got the BEST deal ever for this thing. It's good for light casual games, but where it shines is its versatility for use at work during Zoom calls and having to work on other things while on that call. This laptop is able to dual screen with ease, and isn't too heavy for its size. I really like the light up keyboard, but I'm usually on an external keyboard while working.

I’ve had this one week and love it so far. Very quiet for regular work. I’m not an online gamer so not reviewing on that part. I did hear the fan come on once when it was downloading mega files. But not a loud noise. Haven’t used for zoom or other similar apps yet. The keyboard has blue under the keys which makes using the backlit not necessary during lighted conditions. Nice look to it too. At $419 it’s a steal!

It’s great for the price! I love it. It runs everything smoothly and fast. The battery life is not that good or that bad. When I’m not playing games, it lasts a good 4 hours but when I am I can probably get 2 hours of gaming. But for the price, it’s a really good gaming laptop. Sometimes though it disconnects from my wifi so I’ll have to reconnect it when I turn on my laptop. Overall, I’m really happy with it.

Pros: - very fast! nvme drive makes for incredible load times; it does not feel like a 'budget' machine - sleek design, would not look out of place in a professional setting - screen is bright and crisp and viewable at all angles - fans run quiet even under load - Lenovo's software makes it very easy to update things like BIOS - keyboard feels great - multitasks extremely well for only 8gb ram - built-in webcam with a privacy slider Cons: - trackpad is "meh" at best and stops tracking when also pressing keys - no dual-channel RAM - Lenovo 'expert' who commented on this was incorrect, as there is only one ram slot (not soldered) - fingerprints everywhere This is a great budget gaming laptop. I purchased this on sale and couldn't be happier with the performance to price ratio. I wanted this mainly to run WoW when I am not home, or when I feel like hanging out on the couch. I am getting a consistent 60 FPS at 8 of 10 settings/v-sync enabled, and have zero issues also running Spotify/addon programs/browsers in the background. Alt-tabbing is lightning quick. I was initially disappointed that I couldn't add in an additional stick of ram as the Lenovo expert has said is possible, but honestly after playing with it for a few days I am not sure I really even need it. If you can get this on sale, it's well worth it!

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15 Gaming Laptop, model number 81LK01MSUS. While the IdeaPad L340-15 is not user upgradeable, a certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. The one RAM memory slot within this configuration is capable of supporting up to 16GB DDR4-2400MHz RAM, so your certified technician can replace the existing 8GB RAM stick with a 16GB RAM stick of DDR4-2400MHz RAM. This will be single channel RAM. We are sorry for any confusion caused by incorrectly stating the RAM slot configuration for this specific model. Concerning the touchpad functionally, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Lenovo
