    Purchased on 9/4 today is 9/26 and the screen keeps going out. Took it to bestbuy for an exchange they told me I'm out of the 14 day window and have to go through lenova now. Very upset as this was a gift for Mom and she's already having problems after owning for roughly 3 weeks. Extremely disappointed in how best buy handles this

      Thank you for sharing your experience with the IdeaPad Slim 3. We are sorry to hear that you are facing issues with your device. We would like to recommend a few solutions to the display issue you are facing.

      To start, we recommend adjusting your device’s sleep settings which may be causing your system to shut off the screen faster than needed. Firstly, open the Settings app, then select the “Systems” tab located on the left hand of the device, click the “Power & battery” option on the right-hand side of the display, finally choose the “Screen, sleep & hibernate timeouts” tab, this will open a drop-down menu where you can change how quickly your device goes into sleep mode. We also suggest that you check for software and drivers updates through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update Settings which may be impacting your device’s ability to communicate with the display effectively. To check for updates in Lenovo Vantage, start by launching the Lenovo Vantage app and selecting the “Check for updates” button on the right-hand side of the homepage. To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page.

    Two Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3's died in two months

    We bought our first one in early September 2025. It failed on September 12,2025. We were able to return it to Best Buy. It is now October 28, 2025, and the "new" one has a black screen. Totally unusable. I was tol Lenovo laptops were reliable, but two failed laptops in two months is unacceptable. I will contact Lenovo tomorrow, but I would want anything but a Lenovo.

    The screen and the buttons are overly sensitive it changes screens all the time and I don’t even realize I’m doing it. It’s really annoying when I’m trying to work. Would love to return it and swap it for something else.

    everything is good and what the price i paid for, however when the laptops below 20 percent it will refuse to connect to wifi then crash.

    Regret this purchase

    Computer received an update from Lenovo a little over a month after purchase. The update deactivated my pin and now I am locked out of my computer, by Windows, for at least 30 days. I went to Best Buy’s Geek Squad and they were unable to help since it was a Windows issue. So now my computer is sitting there useless. I was warned by an IT consultant not to buy Lenovo, wish I had listened.

      To start, you may need to factory reset your system. If you wish to complete this process, the instructions are listed below:
      1. There is a small pin hole on the bottom right side of the device, first in line before the other ports on the right side. You will need a pin (a SIM ejector tool or the end of a paperclip should suffice) to push this reset button.
      2. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose to view "System Recovery" options. Select System Recovery.
      3. On the next screen, select "Troubleshooting", then "Reset this PC". Select the option to remove everything from the system and for Windows to be installed locally. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset.

    My most recent purchase was at least the 20th computer I have purchased from Best Buy in the last four years. I also purchased at least five printers from BB in the last four years. For my most recent purchase, I noticed that the key for the letter "p" did not work. I took the keyboard back and just asked that it be switched out for another keyboard. BB refused saying if you want to return the keyboard, you have to return the entire computer which my business is already using, I was told I cld purchase one of their keyboards at an addtional charge. I will never purchase another item from BB.
