Great affordable monitor marred by a fatal issue

Great monitor in general in most areas with a few caveats and one major flaw. You can't adjust the height of the monitor but you can tell that from the stand so that was no surprise. The stand is also very wobbly. The slightest bump to your table or whatever you place the monitor on and it'll shake. I have a glass desk with a keyboard tray and even as I type this review right now, both monitors (I have 2) shake. There is no color temperature settings you can adjust but most people can live w/ that. However, the major issue with this monitor is that you CANNOT save your brightness and contrast settings. Lenovo left a comment to one of the reviews here stating you need to hold the Enter key for 10s to save the settings. First off, that doesn't work. I checked their own support site and holding the Enter button for 10s only "locks the menu" meaning you cannot even enter the monitor OSD menu*. Most if not all monitors have this function so it's nothing new but most monitors (Lenovo's withstanding) save your settings as you EXIT out of the settings menu. Once you power off the monitor or it goes to sleep and wakes up, it resets to the original setting which is 80 brightness and 85 contrast which is a bit too bright and high of a contrast setting to use comfortable for me. If you don't mind it then I guess it'll work for you but those 2 settings are always the first and usually only things I change on new monitors. I'm only keeping these monitors because I got them at a huge discount but having to adjust the settings each and every time is very annoying. *https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd104885

For the sale price of 130$ for a 1440p monitor it is a very good price. It is also IPS. However, this is cheaply built expect a lot of wobble if you move a lot (i.e. leg tapping). The monitor also does not save presets except for Nova mode. Thus anytime you power off your monitor say goodbye to your finely tuned calibrations.

Hi Lenovo .. I have this monitor in the European version only the name L24q-10 differs. It really surprises quality. After a year of use, the image is still impressive. Someone in your company decided to surprise the buyers that in such a cheap monitor used such a good matrix :). In fact, it works great in graphic work. The advertising slogans are true that this monitor is like a canvas for an artist. If it were better if it had a matte, glassy coating on the screen instead of it, it would make the picture even more vivid. In addition, I discovered that you can get some way about 20% higher brightness and saturation by entering the Text Mode and manually setting the RGB to 100%, then the image gets an additional boost, it's a pity that most if not all the reviewers in the world did not know about it and none of them have seen what this monitor can really do, none of them have seen the full image quality of this monitor, as well as most commenters on various forums. The only disadvantage I notice is that the frames are really 7mm on each side, not 3.5mm as it appears in every specification and in all marketing materials for this monitor :(. And this is a two-fold difference in thickness after all. THIS would be wonderful if it really had a 3.5mm frame, it would be one of the prettiest monitors on the market, because to this day probably no manufacturer has given 3.5mm frames around the screen .. LENOVO, maybe create a successor to this monitor containing all the great advantages of the L24q-20/10 + additional version with a glassy coating and really thin frames?!?!? It could also use a higher refreshment :) It works even nicer at 755,85,90100Hz than at 60, even a mouse cursor, menu tables, moving, rotating 3D objects in graphic programs looks much nicer when there is a greater refreshment. Currently, this monitor is set to 67 Hz, the problems are getting higher above ... But even these 7 Hz makes some differences :) I really deserve this special mention, it stands without a stand for me, it lies on the windowsill leaning on the window :)

Got this for use at work (old tower system running windows 7) for duel setup. Was worried because there was not a lot of reviews but just decided to go with it. Have had it for 2 weeks and I'm telling you GET THIS MONITOR!! If on sell as it is now you cant go wrong! Going today to get another to use with my HP Specter 360 that runs Windows 10 because I hooked it up to it and it was even more amazing! Good refresh rate, great color and picture.

    Fantastic Monitor

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is my first QHD monitor. Many QHD monitors are larger than 24'', and generally more expensive because of that. At 24'', the screen is sharp and clear, it has rich colors, deep blacks, and good whites. The physical bezels are very small. The stand is quite large, but it's pretty firm so shakes are infrequent. Some minor nitpicks: the color of the screen plastic and stand is silver, it would have been better as a matte black, the screen controls are clearly visible on the front, they would have better placed facing down, and the on-led is also clearly visible, also would have been better facing down. Finally, it uses a custom power connector from it's transformer to the monitor screen - not a typical computer power plug. Overall, great monitor. Highly recommended.

Wonderful and crisp, but brightness changes

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I saw this in a review before, that after adjusting the brightness manually, it sort of does what it wants. And that is true. It is standard at 80 brightness and I take it down way below 40, but as soon as the computer goes to sleep and the monitor goes on standby, once it comes back up it is back to a blinding 80. I cannot find an "auto" setting to turn off, so this is one major flaw for the monitor. I work nights so half the time I use the computer it's in a dimly lit room, and thus the brightness really kills me, and it's annoying to have to take a minute every time I get on it to lower the brightness. Otherwise it's a beautiful screen. Anti-glare. Crisp HD. You can increase the refresh rate manually if you're about to play an intense video game. If I had the money, I would order a second screen and place them side by side.

This is my first Lenovo product. The price seemed to good to be true but I bought it anyways. Out of the box, with zero calibration, it looks amazing. 2560x1440 is The perfect resolution. Colors are excellent. They "pop" without be too saturated. The blacks are excellent and deep. I think I can tweak it and get it even better, but 9 out of 10 wouldn't need to touch a single thing. just plug and play. The stand (the way it connects to the back) worries me a little, but not too much. The bezels on the sides and top are maybe 1/4th inch. Very small. I am buying a 2nd one immediately . This monitor is worth every penny.

For starters this is a 1440p monitor. In my opinion this is a decent monitor for the money, got it on sale for $160. I don't think I would have bought it for over 200. All the colors are good except for the whites, whites are a little underwhelming. Good beginner monitor but wouldn't recommend for gaming. Managed to overclock it to 67Hz using NVIDIA control panel. stand is a little wobbly but manageable.

Figured this would be a good choice to enter the world of >HD from the few reviews available. I've changed my mind. Good: the bezel really is that small Super sharp Dark blacks Good Color Bad: Only comes with HDMI cable Brightness on the last 1 1/2 right and left edges on suffers major drop off If you can live with that, it's a great deal. It does not keep brightness/contrast values saved so every time you power up you have to adjust, if you dont like default value. Lenovo has replied to some users in these reviews in vague terms how to fix it. I cannot find that setting. Unfortunately I had to return this very beautiful monitor. Its screen quality is absolutely awesome and you will find hard time to ever use 1080 monitor again. I still long for this monitor and feel sad to return it for this stupid flaw.

Great Picture Except For Motion Blur

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I really wanted to like this monitor. A quad HD monitor that is an IPS panel for $200 is a deal. The picture is awesome EXCEPT for the motion blur. I was hoping to get a better picture on my rig that runs two GeForce GTX 760s in SLI, but alas, i do not. It is especially noticeable in faster movement scenes and sometimes slower ones as well (personally watched a Harry Potter movie and a scene from The Grand Tour reviewing the Aston Martin Vulcan). Personally, my 10 year old HP monitors did not have as much blur as this. I will be returning my monitor today in exchange for the HP 27ES. I was torn between that HP and this Lenovo upon purchase. Its unfortunate that this monitor does not deliver the performance I’m looking for.

In terms of the monitor it self, for the price it's really worth it. Slim bezel, QHD, IPS screen... It's definitely a good monitor However, there're 2 problems I'm having: 1. The connection between monitor and the base is somewhere loose, but therefore it will shake a bit when the desk was moved / shaken. This is really not a big problem. 2. For some reason, the monitor I have won't keep the brightness & contrast settings. Every time it turns off / turn back on it reverts to 80 / 80 (this is default settings, If I'm remembering correctly). It's too bright for me and I will turn it down every time this happens. I suspect it's some settings I made as all other settings will persist (Overdrive, position...) Apart from those two problems, it's a great monitor, and I'll update when I figured out what caused the 2nd problem.

If you are in the market for a quad-HD resolution monitor ( typically 2560x1440) and want a smaller screen than a 27" monitor, this is by far the best value I have found in the market. Bought it to duplicate a 13" Retina-display Mac such that the screen area becomes 3.7 times bigger without compromising on the text/picture resolution quality. A winner !

I purchased 2 of these and both of my monitors are having the same issue as another reviewer. My OSD settings (brightness/contrast) revert as soon as the monitor is turned off. This is incredibly frustrating as I'm stuck with the default settings for the monitor. Other settings seem to stick however. The monitor itself is quite nice, especially for the price, but I wish I could adjust the brightness and contrast without it reverting every time my computer goes to sleep. Because of that, I wouldn't recommend this monitor (happening with both of mine as well as another reviewer so it seems to be a potentially widespread problem).

I've had the monitor for about a day and i'm still trying to get used to the way the resolution scales things. My biggest issue with the monitor is the name says it's a 23.8" monitor but the real size comes in at 21.25" with the screen border, and I think they should change the title to reflect that because the size was one of the selling points.
